nun56unn5ufg Posted July 9, 2024 Posted July 9, 2024 (edited) Gender Matters View File Hi, this is a very simple mod that tweaks some stats to add some disparity between sexes, mostly combat-related stuff. Everything optional, doesn't touch vanilla records.  Inspired by Rimworld's "Gender Differences" mod I made this mod because i enjoy roleplaying as the fragile damme navigating a world of brutes  Effects: This mod applies to every female including Player and NPCs these effects: Combat stuff: Deal -15% physical melee damage. (default on) +15% damage taken (default on) -12% bow draw speed (default on) Hardcore mode: All penalties above doubled (default off) Other stuff: -80 carry weight (default off for survival mode users already reduces carry weight.) 10% sneaking bonus and -10% less noise when sneaking (default on) -25% intimidation chance for F-to-M and +25% chance for M-to-F (default on. (There are about 200 intimidation checks in the base game.))   Config Console commands (i don't know how to make MCM sorry). Open up console in-game with tilde key ~ and use commands below. (1=enable, 0=disable): set GM_Enabled to x = the mod, default 1 set GM_Hardcore to x = hardcore, default 0 set GM_InflictLessMelee to x (whether females deal less melee dmg, default 1) set GM_TakeMoreDmg to x (default 1) set GM_RangedNerf to x (default 1) set GM_LessCarry to x set GM_SneakBetter to x set GM_AffectsSkills to x (intimidation stuff, default 1) set GM_RangedNerf to x   P.S.: I thought of making the dmg nerf on a per-weapon type basis, ex: 0% for daggers, -20% for maces, -40% for greathammers, because weapons are a great equalizer it doesn't matter how strong you are when stabbing a dagger, but by punished two-hand weapons it resulted in a design where there was no reason to use two-handed weapons and in vanilla two-handeds are already not super strong so i went for a -40% to all which is based on the observed strength differences in weightlifting between genders within the same weight classes.  Gender Matters v302.7z Submitter nun56unn5ufg Submitted 07/09/2024 Category Other Requires SPID Special Edition Compatible Yes Edited July 10, 2024 by nun56unn5ufg
PolskiHusarz20 Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 Hi, I really like this idea and would like to suggest its expansion:  Restoration - female buff + male nerf Persuasion - female buff Illusion - female buff Pickpocket - female buff Lockpick - female buff   1
Guest Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 Hi, is this the same as Gender differences matters or it's a better/tweaked version of it?

Yes i like it, how much percents would be better? Persuasion: i will think about it. I find women have an ease to communicate but do you find women more persuasive? Magic: I have to think about it. I had restoration/conjuration buff before but removed it. Edited July 10, 2024 by nun56unn5ufg
emily1673 Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 (edited) Very nice. Sexlab survival has a similar "misogyny" feature, which might give you some ideas: Â But I like your mod because it is much more lightweight. Â Another mod to look at would be SexLab Disparity Edited July 10, 2024 by emily1673 1

People may be inherently less willing to listen to a woman. Perhaps a setting to toggle between it being an increase and a decrease? 1

man generally find woman more persuasive is mainly because man get dumber or distracted at the present of beautiful woman (mythbusters did an episode on this)... this is one of the reason why sales related job is traditionally a woman's job... because they can very easily get man to buy useless things.. so woman should get a bonus in speechcraft and have them get bonus speechcraft the less they wear... I had restoration/conjuration buff before but removed it. On the subject of being more persuasive it really depends on how you define persuasive. Women get substantially more sympathy and empathy from other humans, male or female, when compared to men and thus can get help easier. However men tend to have an easier time garnering respect from other humans, male or female, and thus can get people to listen to them easier. Not sure if there's a good way to handle this in skyrim, frankly, as its persuasion/intimidation and not charm/persuasion/intimidation. So I wouldn't bother on this front. Regarding a magic boost for one school versus another unlike, say, the Wheel of Time the magic of the Elder Scrolls doesn't have gender differences regarding magical output that differ along types of magic. Men and Women aren't, as a rule, better/worse at fire magic, or healing, or whatever. In the Elder Scrolls this is about individual variance. An argument could be made that women might trend towards being better at restoration for the same reasoning they dominate the health care industry in real life, but this probably shouldn't merit a penalty/bonus to half the characters in the game. Especially something as massive as a percentage bonus to healing. 1

FYI, SLS inequality feature does not work if you have custom races or race overhauls, because it edits the races of the base game. This newer mod instead relies on SPID, thus the inequality feature works either for vanilla or custom races. And since it's script-free, you can remove it at any moment without affecting your save, or edit the perk in Creation Kit to adjust values as you see fit. 1
Nuascura Posted July 29, 2024 Posted July 29, 2024 This mod looks interesting. I’d love to add it to my load order. Hopefully you’ll consider and incorporate Polski’s suggestions soon!
Nuascura Posted July 29, 2024 Posted July 29, 2024 @nun56unn5ufg For future updates, would you mind giving your DISTR.ini file a more unique name?

Nuascura Posted August 10, 2024 Posted August 10, 2024 As someone pointed out on Nexus, the 3.2 esp isn't compacted correctly as a light plugin. I've attached the fixed plugin. I've also given the SPID distribution file a more unique name. @nun56unn5ufg Gender Matters.7z 4
Kikle Posted September 13, 2024 Posted September 13, 2024 Is there any way to replicate this mod on Legacy Edition?
