vexily Posted June 11, 2024 Posted June 11, 2024 been having a blast since i added this to my load order, however i am having a slight issue, every now and then a trap will trigger, go through the black screen, and it will tell me a device has locked itself on me, but i will have nothing equipped or put in my inventory, is there any way for me to see what it is trying to equip so that i can diagnose where the failure is?

Since it picks devices at random, if it conflicts with an existing device you won't see one added.

I've also had it happen, but very, very rarely. hmm.... not sure which devices the mod tries to grab.... could be the random roll trying to grab the foot/gloves addons to the catsuit, or the chastity addons to the corsets? just a possibility that crossed my mind, those might be excluded in the trap-rolls...

Been there. 61 (FX) slot - 51 (Ring) slot - A lot of KFT body suits 54 (Unnamed) slot - DD_ChastityBelt 55 (Unnamed) slot - DD_ChastityBra 56 (Unnamed) slot - DD_PlugVaginal 57 (Unnamed) slot - DD_PlugAnal 58 (Unnamed) slot - DD_NipplePiercings 59 (Shield) slot - I use pip-pad too and I kept it at slot 61. Other DD and KFT devices generally follow these rules. well after careful comparison of all items worn by my character against all the items in dd, i have hit a dead end, the only item i am wearing that seems to share a slot with dd items is my characters face mask, but that appropriately gets stripped and replaced by the devices (nipple piercings in slot 58) when traps trigger, so i guess i will just have to live with the odd dud trap every now and then. just feels kinda anticlimactic since i have the odds really really low in the first place, and then to be jump scared by the explosion have the fade to black and then... nothing lol Actually shot in the dark but i just had a thought, i do not use kft, is it possible that for some reason the mod is still trying to grab a kft item to equip? Do you have followers? I haven't changed the logic from the original. Under Settings "Support for followers" Disabled = Targets player only Together = Player & Followers Preferred = Followers first and only the player if the followers are trapped. Try setting it to "Disabled" and see what happens. Check "Kziitd Fetish or Devious Devices" under Settings. New versions will set this selection to "All Devious Devices" if KFT isn't installed but the setting enabling KFT may have been carried over from and older versiopn. Edited June 13, 2024 by jbezorg

I don't think I'd use this just for the parasite, there are standalone parasite/tentacle armors on Nexus if you just want the armor. C5Kev has one and it has FG bodyslides if needed(defualt CBBE). It's not in any separate mod. You could probably disable most of the CDDE functions in MCM and then just manually add the tentacle jacket inventory item with the game console.

The next version of Milking Human Kindness will be able to infest the player with the CDDE parasite after tentacle rape, falling back to the plain DD parasite if CDDE isn't installed. Also absolutely loving your implementation for the parasite's growth/evolution! It's worked flawlessly for me, the only constructive feedback I have so far is that the evolution messages are easily overlooked in bursts of other notification spam since they only persist on-screen for a couple of seconds. Switching to a messagebox instead (just for the evolution change events since they're not very frequent) would both allow you to write a more elaborate description and make sure players don't miss it since they have to click a button to dismiss it from the screen. Or you could use a tutorial message since those can be made to persist for a configurable amount of time, though the implementation for them is fiddly and a lot more work to get right, while messageboxes are dead simple. If you're looking for suggestions (it's fine if you aren't!) as to how to expand the parasite further, a choking tentacle collar could be a great addition as a later stage of its development. I understand with the current implementation you're quickly running out of armor slots though... have you considered sticking with a single armor but leveraging armoraddon mapping with an objectmod for each additional mesh instead? Though maybe that means you're stuck relying less on DD's API and doing a lot more custom scripting, so I can totally understand if that's more than you want to get into. Anyway, thanks so much for making this! It's am amazing addition to the game world. Now off to see if I can survive Far Harbor as a tentacle slave... 1
vexily Posted June 13, 2024 Posted June 13, 2024 12 hours ago, vexily said: swapped the setting to disabled from together as i have ended up going without followers this time anyway, now just to wait to see if that has an effect. also there is no "Kziitd fetish or devious devices" setting anywhere in the mcm, i assume its cause i don't have kft installed. well verdict is in, no effect, even went through the trouble and added kft to my load order and still just got a dud trap, so either its just straight out trying to equip a item that wont work without another like egonm threw out as a possibility or i have a broken dd device somewhere for some reason, either way it does not seem to have any negative affects on gameplay other than the sadness of the trap finally triggering and nothings happening, so i am just going to stop worrying about it for now and hope its nothing to important. idk if it is possible, but adding some debug option that triggers the mod to show what device it rolled to equip in a similar manner to how it shows the trap roll could at least help with issues like this in the future, but considering based on what i have read in this thread its just me and one other that this is happening to, probably not worth the effort. anyway thank you for trying to help, at least trying to solve the dud trap issue motivated me to add kft to my load order and now i got a whole bunch of new stuff to play with, at least when the traps not a dud! lol

I did. That was my original goto. Just ran into an issue with DD unaware mods that strip clothing. i.e. Scaver's Closet. I'll probably use tutorial messages. I want to avoid message boxes. They are better for a narrative message but I think they can break a game when they are forced closed. Not a issue where you have control of the scene but transformation can happen in the middle of something like AAF Violate where the UI gets disabled. Usually they're completely drained after a few fights. Another mod to make FCs rare. I did that to make me reserve their use for big fights. But then I install CROSS Pre-War Cybernetics
