hasdeuterium Posted July 3, 2024 Posted July 3, 2024 (edited) Hello there, I have created an animation and I saved it to a XML file, how could I add the animation to a mod so I can share it and make the animation usable? Edited July 3, 2024 by hasdt 1
Dzund Posted July 4, 2024 Posted July 4, 2024 (edited) Hi everyone, I have the same question than hasdt, also, I want to know if there is a place where animation are shared or it will better to wait a master mod to add our own animations to it other question: is there a place to get/centralise props ? Edited July 5, 2024 by Dzund add more question
Hawk32 Posted July 6, 2024 Posted July 6, 2024 There is currently no prop repository per say since the development scene is still pretty small. Eventually it might be a good idea to combine all the assets with the animation maker itself but after the initial burst of interest the scene has died down a bit. If you want to share animations your best bet is to just create your own mod and share that. Either by sharing it here immediately or on the rjw discord in the #rjw-animations channel. You may need to be active for a little while on the discord before you can get permissions to post files though. Making a mod is really quite simple you only need a folder containing an about file and a content folder with a defs folder containing your animations. You will also get much more immediate help on the discord since we don't come around to the LL forums very often. 1
Dzund Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 (edited) Hi Hawk32, So I did try join the discord via the link, but i got a "Whoops... Unable to accept invite" error, need to check if there is something wrong in my setup, or know of the link is broken somehow. I did make some little simple animations with the executable here, but for now it seem I have trouble saving my custom props (I have to reaload them each time I reload the animation) I have no idea how it will behave in the game but I shall give a try. According if there is reply until I will either edit this post or post another replay in this thread In any case, thank at least for the reply Edited July 10, 2024 by Dzund
c0ffeeeee Posted July 23, 2024 Author Posted July 23, 2024 There's a new tutorial on how to make animations created by Teacher. Check them out here: https://gitgud.io/Teacher/rimworld-animation-tutorial 2
Lonewolf222 Posted July 24, 2024 Posted July 24, 2024 (edited) I've never made a mod before, and feared I Never would, but that tutorial's easy enough I think even "I" could do it. Masterfully made. After my current playthrough, maybe I'll try making a girlxgirl(yuri) animation mod if no one else does. Yuriocalypse it'll be called, with a picture of Yuri from Yuri's Revenge for some reason. But more likely then not, someone will just beat me to it. Anyways, Much obliged to teacher for that amazing tutorial! EDIT: I decided to try my hand at it making a scissoring animation, was going well until I tried doing the first "loop", but then a sort of target appeared. I learned that it had to do with "what" your rotating the pawn around. I wasn't seemingly able to position the pawns properly for the animations and ended up just melting my brain, I'll try this again later today/tomorrow. Edited July 24, 2024 by Lonewolf222 update
