so ive been having problems after problems with sexlab over the past week. at first the annimations wouldnt align at all, then when i wanted to use the realign hotkey i would fall through the map. i tried to fresh install Skyrim and everything but then the animations wont start. ive been making new saves and reinstalling it for days now with no changes. the files are where they are supposed to be so i dont understand whats going on. Any help would be great!

you istalled the wrong version of FNIS. You onyl have the Spells version but you need the one that says " always nessesary" and you have to run it after evey install of a mod using fnis.

 

The "always necessary" does not appear in the load order.  It is not an esp or esm.  It is a .net application that is run OUTSIDE of the game, and does not appear in the load order.

 

 

As for the original problem, have tried changing up your load order?  Have you used BOSS to check it?  Also, when aligning try to make sure you are flat level ground.  Finally, have you tried removing mods one at a time to see if it is a mod conflict?  I have never seen an issue like what you describe using SexLab 1.24, Submit, and Matchmaker (using 150+ total mods currently), so it may be a conflict with one of the mods you have.  There are clipping issues that have occurred in the past and random teleports, but I haven't seen this issue pop up with SL1.24.

You'll probably have getting a log saying SexLab is not getting to 'hook' the characters on something like that. That hapened to me cause there was another script interferring when the animations started. Try to save just before you're about have sex. Then reload and reproduce the error. You'll find easy this way to read the papyrus log (and we will too, you should show us your log after that).

i used boss, and have done multiple reinstalls. it worked fine until a week ago, i have no idea what could be wrong but ill try to clear some of the mods out.

 

You'll probably have getting a log saying SexLab is not getting to 'hook' the characters on something like that. That hapened to me cause there was another script interferring when the animations started. Try to save just before you're about have sex. Then reload and reproduce the error. You'll find easy this way to read the papyrus log (and we will too, you should show us your log after that).

oddly enough Sexlab hasnt reported an issue. i was going to post the papyrus log with my load order but it seems normal. =/

Same problem here, but it is intermittent - it works sometimes, but not often.  Removing Zaz Animation Pack did NOT make any difference (though you are the second person I've seen who reported that it DID help them).  I'm suspecting something timing-sensitive, and adding/removing script-heavy mods may make a difference.

The symptoms that I'm seeing are intermittent.  It generally works fine for scenes centered on a fixed location (e.g. my own Angrim's Apprentice), but has a high probability of breaking for scenes centered on the player character (e.g. Radiant Prostitution).  It seems as though the various transformations in sslActorAlias:Snap() are getting short-circuited somehow; the actors often move, but they don't end up aligned.

 

When it breaks, the symptoms are as follows:

 

1) the actors are nowhere close to aligned: usually facing at odd angles, 10 ft apart.

2) rotating the scene rotates only one actor (or does nothing at all, about 50% chance)

3) changing the animation has a high risk of teleporting through walls, or into midair west of Whiterun.  when that doesn't happen, one actor is often teleported to the other end of the inn.

 

I can find nothing in the log that indicates any problems with position or angle (only indication of trouble in the log is at the end of the scene), but here's a sample log in case anyone more expert can help.  This is from a scene in the Falkreath inn, initiated with the SexLab Debug spell:

I have tried removing Zaz, XPO, SD, Aroused, Radiant Prostitution, NudeSuits, Defeat, and Devious Devices, singly and in various combinations, but nothing seems to help.  Once it happens to a particular actor, it tends to keep happening (though sometimes leaving the cell and returning will get the actor to resume normal animation behavior - whether that's sheer luck or not, I don't know).  All testing on a brand new character, so save-game corruption should not be an issue.

 

I have Sexlab 1.24 (also tried with latest Git development version), Zaz 5.40, XPMS 1.91, FNIS 4.02.  The FNIS log:

yeah the isue came back for me so there must be more to it than simple mod conflicts. =/ I hope ashal is aware of it though and can get it fixed for the next version or something if it is indeed an issue with Sexlab's scripting like i think.

Could be that people having problems have some skeletons installed? I might be wrong but my problems of misallignament started after messing and installing unpb and skeletons...

 

We're not talking about a misalignment of inches; the actors are all the way across the room.  And facing the wrong way.

I added some additional logging to sslActorAlias.psc in my install, so this Papyrus log may help shed some light on the problem.  What appears to be happening is that the two actors have gotten SetVehicle calls for different marker refs.  I don't know this code well, but that looks fishy, if the 'vehicle' is intended to be used to align the actors with one another.

 

This log file covers two scenes in Falkreath's inn, both initiated with Radiant Prostitution.  I interrupted the 2nd one to switch to a different animation, and Dengeir teleported to the other end of the inn.

As per my previous post, disabling SexLab Aroused and/or Devious Devices had NO EFFECT on this bug (though obviously, they were both running at the time of this log).

 

EDIT: I thought the actors might have two different MarkerRef that both referred to the same object, but if I print out their X,Y coordinates, they are indeed different.  But that also turns out to be the case when the animations DO line up, so this is probably a red herring.  Damn.

 

EDIT2: I notice that in failing cases we seem to call sslActorAlias::AlignTo for only a single actor, but in a case where I was fortunate enough to have the animations work, we called it for both actors (and called it once per stage for each).  Maybe I need to go digging to see how/where that's supposed to be called...

If I use only the required mods (framework, submit, fnis, skyui) I get this same problem sometimes. Found solution on running FNIS again. So this happens only when the system wants, just for trolling perhaps. I haven't tried yet rebuild & clean on framework menu to fix it, so I would recommend you to test.

I have done a rebuild & clean, and it doesn't help (or rather it sometimes appears to help, but the problem is intermittent... and it does come back).

The symptoms that I'm seeing are intermittent.  It generally works fine for scenes centered on a fixed location (e.g. my own Angrim's Apprentice), but has a high probability of breaking for scenes centered on the player character (e.g. Radiant Prostitution).  It seems as though the various transformations in sslActorAlias:Snap() are getting short-circuited somehow; the actors often move, but they don't end up aligned.

 

When it breaks, the symptoms are as follows:

 

1) the actors are nowhere close to aligned: usually facing at odd angles, 10 ft apart.

2) rotating the scene rotates only one actor (or does nothing at all, about 50% chance)

3) changing the animation has a high risk of teleporting through walls, or into midair west of Whiterun.  when that doesn't happen, one actor is often teleported to the other end of the inn.

 

It sounds to me more like you don't have the the right version of 1.24 scripts installed. 1.24 specifically fixed the rotation issue, and the fix worked by all other accounts, including my own experience with having the bug and fixing it in 1.24.

 

1.24 FORCEFULLY rotates the actor into their proper rotation if the TranslateTo() call in Snap() fails to rotate them properly, there is little to no room for error here, the little being the 0.5 degrees of rotation difference it allows for.

 

Open sslActorAlias and check for these lines:

 

; Force angle if translation didn't rotate them properly
if Math.Abs(ActorRef.GetAngleZ() - MarkerRef.GetAngleZ()) > 0.5
	ActorRef.SetAngle(loc[3], loc[4], loc[5])

Check the pex file as well, it should be 14.4 kb, assuming you haven't ever recompiled it while trying to debug.

There is a unique marker for every actor, not one per scene. The markers are intended to serve as location markers for where a particular actor should be at a given moment. The marker get's positioned to where the actor should be in AlignTo(), and then Snap() checks if actor's rotation and location matches up with the marker, within 0.5 units or so, and then forces them to the markers same location if they don't match up.

 

The fact that they are attached to the markers as vehicles is just a bonus, it stops other actors from pushing them away.

It's changed some in the development builts, but realign hotkey calls sslThreadController.RealignActors(), which in turn calls sslThreadModel.SyncActors(), which then loops through all the present ActorAlias's, calling sslActorAlias.SyncThread() on each, SyncThread() forcibly updates every actors expected coordinates via AlignTo(), storing their calculated coordinates tin the float[] loc array in the actor alias.

Are you sure you tested the development version? If all you did was clone the git repo, you are still on the master stable branch, you have to actually checkout the development branch within git.

 

The development branch actually takes the change of 1.24 a step further, and forces the actors location in addition to rotation if they aren't close enough, with another similiar check:

What I'm getting at, is again there is very little, next to nonexistent existant, room for a bug like this to be happening in a properly updated 1.24 or development build. I'm not saying it's impossible, I'd again suggest making actually have the proper 1.24 scripts installed, and if they are, than look to how the marker itself is beign positioned in AlignTo(), NOT the actor, because the actor shold be wherever the marker is.

Just drop the scripts folder from the archive into your data folder (or Mod Organizer's sexlab folder), it should ask you to overwrite two files, sslActorAlias.pex and sslActorAlias.psc

 

The inclusion of forced coords may fix any alignment problem you're having, but if not, check the additional debug output, which will very likely have flooded your debug log with lots of new stuff. Post your resulting debug log from a short play session using this patch and a quick-ish sex animation where you spend at least a 5-10 seconds on each stage, and maybe press the realign hotkey atleast once or twice during the animation.

I'm not a modder myself and I suppose you can peek at the scripts content by some creation kit, but I don't have any installed.

 

I checked sslActorAlias "date modified" on a windows explorer anyway and it's 20/10, so it seems the right script.

 

I was going to disable all sexlab mods and try just the framework (with the "hey stud..." dialogue option) but what I just read in this thread discourages me to do so.

The inclusion of forced coords may fix any alignment problem you're having, but if not, check the additional debug output, which will very likely have flooded your debug log with lots of new stuff. Post your resulting debug log from a short play session using this patch and a quick-ish sex animation where you spend at least a 5-10 seconds on each stage, and maybe press the realign hotkey atleast once or twice during the animation.

Here is a version of the 1.24 sslActorAlias script, which includes the forced position coordinates that is in development build and a bunch of new debug log output related to positioning.

Just drop the scripts folder from the archive into your data folder (or Mod Organizer's sexlab folder), it should ask you to overwrite two files, sslActorAlias.pex and sslActorAlias.psc

OK, that went somewhat better; with the debug version, I still got a couple of examples where the actors were wildly misaligned, but now hitting a hotkey once will bring them much closer.  

 

The FF scene (Phoebe and Larethia) started with the actors 10 feet apart, but worked perfectly after hitting a hotkey.  The first MF scene (Phoebe and Delacourt) was almost correct, just that the actors were too close, and tweaking them with the 'L' hotkey had no effect (Delacourt flickered, but ended up right back where he started as far as I could tell).  The 2nd MF scene (Phoebe and Dengeir) started off wildly misaligned, but got a lot better after hitting a hotkey; they still wound up at about a 15 degree angle instead of facing each other, and further use of hotkeys had no visible effect.

For what it's worth, my Git clone did have the 'Force angle if translation did not rotate them properly' code.  I've redone the checkout, just in case.

 

Before replacing my debug version with your debug version of sslActorAlias, I noticed that in the failing cases one or both actors were returning immediately from SyncThread because 'Active' was false, thus skipping the call to AlignTo entirely.  Not sure why that was so (and I don't know if it is still true, with your debug version), but thought I'd mention that in case it sparks any ideas.  I purely hate debugging intermittent bugs...

any git clone would have "force angle", force angle was included with 1.24 so it's on both master and development branches, force position is development only.

 

Also in either case, don't bounce back and forth between development and master on a save, it very likely will break your save, if you want to use development branch, pick it and stick with it. It's not super unstable for a development branch though, I always make sure the mod is in useable state before pushing updates to the development branch. Worse it should get playing on the development branch is occasionally having to run Rebuild from the MCM after a major git update, as I don't tend to add in upgrade code as I go.
