We have Best Body Type in the game that need texture for it and maybe stamp it into Aloy Body...
But are we still don't have new update for this Game Engine Modding yet ?

Aloy face fix

id-daemon

"I'm currently working on Import tool for Horizon Forbidden west, which will allow to import custom characters into the game. And of course, the first thing I wanted to test it on, is Aloys face. In this version i scaled her cheeks down to 90%. Also i had a test for 70% which made her look like Final Fantasy character (as seen on last screenshot).

Some of screenshots here were made when peachfuzz on her face was not yet scaled down, so you can visually see how the shape of her face changed."

can someone who's familiar with modding explain why this game is so hard to mod or basically impossible? is every texture file encrypted in a way that only someone who worked on the game e.g a dev can unlock or what?

I'm not a programmer and please do correct me if I'm wrong, but as I understand It:

Previous Decima games (Death Stranding, Horizon Zero Dawn) were "Regular Hard" difficulty for creating modding tools.. As in many other game with custom In-house engine - game content was just packed as files inside binary archives. You need to crack the encryption first (if present) then analyze archive structure, then learn to separate file types from each other, then extract separate files. After file extraction is done usually you are already learned enough about file structure of the game and will be able to pack everything back together including new files.

For new version of Decima Engine Guerilla Games created absolutely new Space-Efficient Content Packaging System. It is present in Horizon Forbidden West, Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered and will be present in all upcoming Decima games. I think new system has little to no analogs in other games and modders had absolutely no experience with it or something similar to it before.

New System:

  • Based on data structures, not files (for better steaming of assets in open world games).
  • All data structures are interconnected and form one big dependency graph for whole game (also for better steaming of assets in open world games).
  • There is absolutely NO names, Zero. Only GUIDs - that makes finding and separating  textures, sound, models really painful.
  • After adding new data structures (new models, textures, etc.) you have to link them inside graph somehow, but even single error in links could brake whole graph.
  • You can try to rebuild whole dependency graph with all assets of the game (including new ones) from ground up, but it will take a ages of time and as I understand it will take up many GBs (a lot more than usual mods).

Long story short - HFW is "Nightmare Hard" difficulty for creating modding tools - it's never seen before new data packaging system for modders, with little to no info about it because closed engine, and little to no analogs in other games or modding tools to learn from.

To "truly" mod HFW and upcoming Decima games someone needs to once again reverse engineer new more coplex packing system and create whole set of completely new "next level" modding tools from ground up.

Interesting. Not a fan of that mod as it makes her look like an imp with giant cheek bones and a pointy chin, but I am intrigued on how they figured out how to adjust her model like that and get it to run in the game.

Latest version of the mod has a 96% option which makes her look really nice.
Even better, you can remove the red blotches from her face.

Yeah, I'm not into the face mod, but great to see someone is able to figure it out. Hopefully they can work on texture mods soon, and unblue her boobs.

Weird; I'd heard the gameplay and graphics were somewhat improved but that the story wasn't as good as the first. Despite the generic open-world tropes of the first, I enjoyed uncovering the story and history of the world, and thought the plot was decent.

edit: This comment looks completely out of place now since previous comments were removed. I swear it wasn't a non-sequiter when I posted it!

yeah we've had mod tools for like 3 weeks at this point, texture imports for almost 2 weeks. stellar blade had like 37 mods within a few days of the demo being released.

I don't know what all is involved in using the tools but if my guy can give her a full CJ body, you'd think someone should be able to at least give her some nipples.

the tools have like 60 downloads though, so hopefully someone out there is quietly working on it.  of course nobody owes us anything, and if there is any progress being made, know that we appreciate your efforts and look forward to seeing it.
