Poontank Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 Great work indeed. It's even better that Johny has fixed it himself. One of the most badass Orcs I've ever seen! The full lower half of the face consists of the jaw and chin alone. A literal mountain of an Orcish man.
vegaorc Posted November 10, 2013 Author Posted November 10, 2013 Ok so it looks like I messed up, this may take some time to fix... I merged vertices some time ago that I wasn't supposed to...
movomo Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 I'm sorry that I somehow forgot to mention this when I saw your last post, but the shrinkwrap modifier should almost perfectly fix your current problem.
vegaorc Posted November 12, 2013 Author Posted November 12, 2013 Oh! I see, I will try it later! But what does it do exactly? Nevermind! Thank you so so so so much! It works perfectly! Thank you!
vegaorc Posted November 14, 2013 Author Posted November 14, 2013 When I was about to publish the mod, I decided to try the bow animations and guess what... More problems! For some reason weight painting doesn't seem to fix this issue properly, or maybe I'm not painting the right vertex groups... Any ideas? Sorry for the double post.
movomo Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Another weightpaint issue. Enable X-axis mirror option and try blurring the boundary region of the head and the neck groups. Probably head or neck I mean. The spine2 and clavicle L/R group aren't that strong to influence it. You can use the "weight gradient" script, but the "blur" brush should be enough.
vegaorc Posted November 14, 2013 Author Posted November 14, 2013 Yeah, I tried that... It didn't work, I also messed around with the body's weight paint and it made it worse...
kingkong Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 generaly i use 'copy weight paint' from original mesh and sometimes making correction with less or more weight paint on some vertices or you should get this tutorial : http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/37209
movomo Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 No, don't even think about modifying the body weight around the neck. It will just ask for a trouble, for every head mesh variant assumes the same neck weights. If you got stumped, post the blend file. When words can't describe things that's the best thing we can do. I can take a look tonight.
vegaorc Posted November 15, 2013 Author Posted November 15, 2013 Well, sorry for the trouble... Here you go. headorc13.rar
movomo Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 headorc13_1.rar Clavicle was the culprit. Kinda hard to believe, though. By the way, I find this particular upperbody is way too different from what I have as Room207's bodybuilder. Because, the neck line doesn't match at all. Is this body (and this head) supposed to be so? I attached the bodybuilder one from Setbody mod.
vegaorc Posted November 15, 2013 Author Posted November 15, 2013 Thank you so so much movomo for all your help and patience dealing with a newbie like me! I'm really grateful!About the question you asked: By the way, I find this particular upperbody is way too different from what I have as Room207's bodybuilder. Because, the neck line doesn't match at all. Is this body (and this head) supposed to be so? I attached the bodybuilder one from Setbody mod. Yes it is because I'm working on the wideneck version of it (found in the "resource" folder of the bodybuilder files), it is not included in the setbody mod because it would create major neckseams on the characters. It also features a wider wrist, I personally like this version better! Thank you.
Poontank Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 So it's fixed now? If that's the case all of Orsinium is having a party later... I'll persuade king G. to have statues of you guys erected.
Mallomar42 Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 Some people think that the orcs are an especially ugly race (and until skyrim they might have been right). Me I think you just need to give the women their own mesh and to the men a latern jaw and a strong chin. Sure the men may look terrifying but underneath that savage exterior there's a brutish handsomeness.
vegaorc Posted November 29, 2013 Author Posted November 29, 2013 Well, it has been a while! But I'd like to anounce that my head model is now available at the nexus here. I mostly shared it because... Why not? I'd also like to point out the fact that I can't talk about this website on the mod page, therefore I couldn't properly thank those who helped me. So I'll do it right now! Thank you for your helping make this mod possible and also thank you for making me more aware of what blender can do! Special thanks to you, movomo, who bared with me through a long time! Some people think that the orcs are an especially ugly race (and until skyrim they might have been right). Me I think you just need to give the women their own mesh and to the men a latern jaw and a strong chin. Sure the men may look terrifying but underneath that savage exterior there's a brutish handsomeness. About what you said there, yes I agree with you, orcs do have something special on the inside! This thread can be closed now! I guess.
Poontank Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Turned out very nice. Congratulations on finishing and releasing your project! I'm still not sure how I am going to implement the mesh. This could finally be a reason to give 'Blockhead' a try... Or I'll just go the way of a custom male Orc race for specific few characters. In any case a more massive build for male Orcs is a great addition to the game.
movomo Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Well, how about "x90" Orcs and Nords? Extra macho! It could be done with the help of blockhead.
Poontank Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Well, I'm already having taller Orcs and Nords. Scaling down Johny's head (I mean his tweaked wideneck mesh!) for even bulkier Orcs is a great idea.
Mallomar42 Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Well, how about "x90" Orcs and Nords? Extra macho! It could be done with the help of blockhead. I am all for more macho races and what races are more deserving than orcs and nords. Also great job johnny the head mesh looks great, and with it my quest for the best looking orcs is one step closer to completion. Now I just need to wait for somebody to want to update the male orcish armor to something in the body builder category hint hint
movomo Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 JA, I can show you how to make such head size variant if you're not aware of it alreay. Very simple process actually, but it requires some blender work. It's time to have some nice and aesthetically good male armor, not the merely resized vanilla equipments. There are few in the Nexus,, but they are literally dust few compared to the female replacers.

I agree, I just think that a vanilla armor replacer is always a good place to start it spices up the general populace, sure you and your companions look sweet but when the big bad and all of his minions look lame in comparison it makes the whole game feel less epic. Sadly most of the modding community prefers to focus on making the women look better. It makes one wonder why you would even play a male character: you wear the worst looking armor that isn't even modeled for your character's new mesh. Plus there are multitudes of body types and textures for women but only one or two for men, thank god roberts is here or else there might not be any.
movomo Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Johny, just wanted to say this.Mentioning a not-allowed site in some site, could be an enough reason for getting banned. Though fortunately most of the time it slips out of their sauron eyes. They don't like it and don't need more reasonable reason.
