I'm considering moving the three nude body BSAs included with Sexout (T6M+bnb, Roberts, Breezes) out of the data download and making them standalone optional downloads. The only reason they are there is so people new to sexout can get a 'quick start' to sexout and I don't have to keep answering the "why is nobody naked LAWLZ I AM ILLITERATE AND CANNOT FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS" questions.

Most people do use their own nude bodies though, especially for the females.

This would shrink the mandatory data download by a lot. In fact, because of their size, those are the *only* resources currently in the data download. The actual sexout data, like animations, sounds, and props, are actually in the core download. This strikes me as 'hella stupid.'

So my thought is to split this up into three downloads.

- Rename the current data download to "Sexout Nude Bodies (Optional)".

- Sexout Core = just the esm's, readme's, etc.

- Sexout Data = the mandatory data files.

This would make the core download only ~250K, and the mandatory data download ~18M. Rather than the current situation which is an 18M core and a 70M data.

LOL. I like the poll. :D

Yeah, it's like we have a say in it & everything ;)

Seriously though, I vote for separate downloads, provided that the NG OP has links that point to them as a suggestion, and that the compilation includes them if Kain'd like to pick that one back up.

Also, please use the download system for it - the more the rest use it, the more likely people will be looking for mods in there. As a bonus, any mod that's added through the system can be easily transferred to another member for safekeeping, updating etc - and that is not something we can do with an ordinary thread.

I was thinking about this as a prep for the download system thing. I thought if I made one I could put multiple files in it.. is that not the case? I'm not enthused about the idea of having to make one for core, one for data, and one for the bodies, if that's how it works.

As for the poll, it's real enough. If enough nutjobs vote for the middle two options, I'll leave the split where it is.

It is, so yeah, no linkage really needed if you do it like that.

That right there is the problem with democracy :dodgy:

That is my intention, so glad it will work. I was not looking forward to having any more download/support threads to monitor than I already do. If I could stuff the body BSAs in a fomod, make a real download for it, then link to the sexout thread for support and lock the bodies thread, that would work too I guess.

Isn't it just. I don't forsee it happening though. :)

Just remember when you edit the Download OP it overwrites anything you have done with the forum post OP, otherwise you will make changes to the Forum OP then lose them all next time you update the file :)

<= Nutjob

But I kinda do wish they would just stay there, I know its a inconvenience to download such a big file each time, but I think answering all the "why is nobody naked" posts is even more annoying.

Having it all nicely packed up does have its advantages.

Like you Nichoice I don't mind the download size. It is tame by comparison to other mods I use. I regularly go out and re-download the very same mods I currently have even when I don't need to just so I don't have to get the ext hd that has the files and plug it in. LOL. You aren't a <=Nutjob. I agrree it is a nice option included and is very convient and does help with those that would complain "why is nobody naked". That is the reason Prideslayer put it in Sexout in the first place.

However that being said it is really not needed for most individuals to use here on LL. The modders and many of the advanced users use their own bodies. configured just they way they want them to be. This only adds extra steps in the installation process for us users. It is a simple task to look and download the Core, Data and then decide if you want "Optional Bodies". Those that complain like they did in the past will learn shortly that they need a nude body. I'd like to point out also that the other mods on this site don't have a simple drag and drop nude body to install. Their body choices are much harder to get "just right".

If not having nude bodies is the only problem the "why is nobody naked" users have they are in great shape, and knowledgeable individuals such as yourself can easily direct them to the optional body download when you find them. These users need to start understanding and learning the modding process and how things work and what is important and not for them so that they can continue to grow and develop as a mod using gamer.

As I mentioned elsewhere, I can probably convince the FOMOD script to download additional files if it needs to. An "install optional nude bodies" checbox or button could open a browser page to the download itself. I can't actually do the download from the FOMOD script unless I host the files externally, as LL doesn't allow anonymous downloads and I don't want to add user/pass stuff back to my custom FOMM build.

If you're going to repackage stuff anyway, maybe you can add a Characters\Female\HeadHuman.dds (+ _n & _sk.dds) to the T6M BSA? There is one included for the raider females but not non-raider, and so that reverts back to vanilla, causing more mismatch than is probably necessary. (Complete lack of mismatch is obviously hard to avoid.) First time I really had a look inside - fast-tracking the rebuild of my own install, so I thought I'd just stick with the BSAs for a test character I'll be needing.

I think you're using the dimonized textures from here: http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/mods/4280/? or maybe that's how Izumiko set it up originally - either way there should be one or two there that match the body a little better. :)

I'm trying to dig up what texture I'm using.. It was some T3/T6 compat texture marked free to reuse; dimon's aren't. I removed the face texture that came with it because it was pretty ugly and I got some complaints about it. It was heavily made-up if I remember, with shiny lip gloss and such.

Ah yeah, that lipstick... not so good for a 'standard' pack. I thought it'd be dimon's because some of the raider tex looked familiar.

In any case, the mismatch I'm talking about wasn't just a seam - I went with a Hispanic race, and the body tex in the BSA was lighter than the vanilla head tex overall.

Of course, a quick look at what the nexus has in terms of face tex on the nexus throws up all kinds of permissions stuff - and a lot of heavy makeup too.

dk female face textures has a more neutral look, but permissions are needed & maybe the eyeliner's a bit much; mojave delight etc probably falls under "don't even ask"

jonas66 uses something nice in his four races, four faces mod that he says came from a mod that disappeared for whatever reason, & nobody's made him remove the texture from his yet on the nexus. A bit of makeup but nothing too severe from what I can tell on this character at least.

There's still a bit of a seam but that's more of a nif issue - the difference is that the skin color matches better, even if it may not be as obvious as it was to me in game (went a little overboard in the conversion to jpeg probably & I haven't sorted out dynavision yet).
