If someone wants to test SAF. A short instruction. If you are using MO2. You download SAF manually, unzip, drop the animation into the data/SAF/Animations folder, package via WinRar, Install in MO2.

I'm using the new SAF version and it seems to be working pretty well so far. I never was able to use the old version that ran with NAF since I had installed the newest version of Starfield, so I can't really tell how it functions vs the original version. The only distortion I'm getting in certain positions, I think is due to the body replacer I'm using, whish is Milky way Vixens. I've tested with a couple other body mods and I don't see the same distortion, so I'm looking at working around that. So far so good I think!

I don't know if anyone was working on this but I'll be releasing Starfield Interaction Framework here soon (just waiting on some changes and collaboration with SAF's author).

The Starfield Interaction Framework (SIF) acts as a dynamic, modular bridge between Creation Kit events and the Starfield Animation Framework (SAF). It utilizes a distributed Papyrus Injection model to allow modders to inject custom animations into gameplay via tags. This bypasses disk I/O lag entirely and removes the need for modders to directly edit core framework scripts or hardcode file paths.

It will handle all types of animations that SAF can use including adult animations and operates off of tags, races, and some other conditions. SIF will handle the triggers, events, actions, etc. and then also acts as the database of animations similar to how AAF worked in Fallout 4.

Nice.

Things like this are crucial for motivational purposes. It's nice to see Starfield not being forgotten by everyone across the modding scene.

Personally, I think the game got far too much flak at the onset. This is precisely the kind of game I've waited a long time for. Sure, there are

other space games. But nothing on the level of potential moddability of a Bethesda title. Cyberpunk was another game I had high hopes for.

Unfortunately, CDPR held it's moddability to close to the vest. So it was a "three and done" for me. After the third playthrough, and the release

of CDPR's version of "modding tools", the best we could get was "joy toy scenes", so I lost interest.

Thanks, and best of luck on this. Can't wait to see the implementation.

Yep. That's what did it in for me. Cyberpunk was a prime candidate with a ton of potential for adult modding.

Even with 900+ mods in my game folder, it simply couldn't hold my interest after the first year. I couldn't take

sitting through another round of the Johnny Silverhand Chronicles to roll a fourth playthrough :)

Outfits are a scarcity in Starfield, but I blame that more on the absence of a popular universal body mod.

SFF has a lot of potential, but it's creator is too hung up on including facegen stuff for it to really take hold.

The facegen stuff breaks more than it's worth. Shame, because there's plenty of beautification mods that

can handle that separately, without the need for a baked in solution that holds a good body mod back from

becoming more widely used.

SFF body is not good on top of that mod author is just ignoring community feedback people been telling him to get rid of facegen that he added but wont listen on top of that his latest updates just dont play nice with saf and sex mods.

SFF uses it's own UV mapping etc which clashes with vanilla faces apparently. The modder needs to accept his solution (unique mapping etc) fractures the modding scene.

The situation isn't helped that the Starqueen skin set has not been updated for 1 year and could do with some love. I use BBL myself with the jiggle physics mod. Still the best solution we have, and is extremely limited to only a handful of sliders.

BBL itself is nearly 2 years since it's last update.

We need someone to actually build a body replacer, both male and female, for the community. Using bodyslide as well as chargenmenu in game to fine tune presets etc. I don't remember how long it took the Skyrim scene to settle on CBBE as the main replacer, but that is what Starfield needs.

what about Milky Way Vixens?

female body mod replacer and clothes

https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/13746?tab=description

I've installed it today, no melting face if Lin is talking, own clothes, and the mod author seems to listen to requests, as he has published/worked on several patches, due to his statement on Nexus. Only thing I didn't found was body morphs, except of vanilla morphs.

Therein lies the problem.

The level of customization is seriously lacking. SFF has morph customization down in spades, but as mentioned earlier, it's author

doesn't listen to constructive feedback. No serious pool of clothing modders is going to touch it with all the facegen

stuff he insists on including.

Expand MWV's morph options, and it becomes a serious contender.

Not to derail the conversation much from starfield BUT have been working on a sex framework in the Cyberpunk club on loverslab :) but am hype for starfield thats the one reason why I haven't started a playthrough with starfield waiting for these mods lol

speaking on bodyslide... with me + ousinus with some help of claude and codex using it as a tool we have made so much progress that ousnius closed the issue page and reccomended SF users to use the auto build function!!!

https://github.com/ousnius/BodySlide-and-Outfit-Studio/issues/497
so please people somebody grab the author of MWV and tell their ass to use outfit studio since we have author mods not touching SF yet till theres a one true body mod that people can work on.

side note: don't let the body try to be forced on the skeleton. i like CBBE and all but the reason why i'm a fan of BHUNP and the UNP familiy is that it adapts to the vanilla skeleton and UV map... kindof and avoid the "chicken leg" syndrome that CBBE has

So it seems mod author for milky way vixen is on board to using bodyslide that's after he gets most of his projects done first. Super pumped as I can tell milky way vixens has good proportions and the mod author does listen to feed back that is another plus.

ight send him to me and ousnius way and if all goes to plan on the release page on SF we can have a "list of body mods that have native support for bodyslide" and he'll be the flagship #1 xD

I hope something shakes loose soon.

I started mapping out the new Droids race I want to build for Starfield this week, and created the ESM. I suspect it will likely have much more depth than Droids of the

Commonwealth had given the amount of native material to work with. Did a bit of research into texture editing, and it looks like everything can be handled using just

GIMP and Paint.net. I'm currently looking over the Human Race form to identify all the places I can make edits and customize. Also looking into alternatives for managing

the race swap. The terminal script method seems to be as do-able as it was in FO4. But that's all stuff for another thread.

Once I have a prospective body/texture set to work with, I can seek out permissions and swap it in for the vanilla stuff after editing.

Imo Starfield is gonna be huge for modding, but mostly because it will be the primer to CE2 for TESVI

This is exciting news for the Starfield modding community. SexLab has been one of the most influential animation frameworks in modding, and it's great to hear that you're planning to bring the experience and lessons learned over the past decade into a new framework.

The focus on better core integration, dynamic animation pack loading, and improved native functions sounds particularly promising. Building these features into the foundation from the start should make development easier for both framework users and mod creators in the long run.

I also think waiting for essential tools such as the Starfield equivalents of SKSE and FNIS/Nemesis is the right approach. Having a stable modding ecosystem first will likely save a lot of time and effort later.

As development progresses, it would be great to see a flexible API that allows creators to expand functionality without requiring major framework updates. Documentation and examples would also be extremely valuable for encouraging community adoption.

Looking forward to seeing how this project evolves. Communities and websites dedicated to visual novels, interactive stories, and modding content, such as https://lustgames.to/, will certainly be interested in following future updates and developments.

Best of luck with the project, and thank you for keeping the community informed.

So it seems milky way vixen is busy with other projects we seriously need a body mod for bodyslide so tired of sff and his inability to accept community feedback.
