I've seen that gif before but I didn't realise that guy actually made a mod and recorded a video about it.

It probably didn't get much traction because the mod wasn't posted in active forums such as here, in popular art sites like DeviantArt, FurAffinity, and Inkbunny (which are what I used to promote my mods), or anywhere that would get indexed by search engines because I couldn't easily find it anywhere. I'm not sure if that mod was even downloadable. That link you provided was probably the only way to access that video because it's apparently removed/unlisted.

 

I noticed that mod also made Purse acted crude for some animations which is fine for what it's going for but I aim to keep the character retain her original behaviour except she's nude or exposed for my own mod because that's the way I like it. Although if I could, I wouldn't mind adding a masturbation feature if I know how to make script mods for Unity games. Not just that, I would love to implement a clothing torn/break (wardrobe malfunction) mechanic and how there could be clothing overlays for her sprites if she's wearing any armour. I could probably do something like that if the devs officially supports script mods but until then, I'm restricted to replacing sprites only.

 

Anyway, I think I'm about done editing with the game's sprites and I just need to create the mod installers which will take a while once I find the time to do it.

Mod Update for Backpack Hero 1.0

It's finally ready, my mods should now be compatible for the current version of Backpack Hero (V1.0.934.0)!

It took a while because I wanted to add NSFW versions of Purse's festive outfit since it's the holiday season, there were a couple of new sprites that I had to edit, and I also had to reexport every edited sprite since I've made some adjustments to them like tweaking the shading for Purse's right arm and correcting some wrongly-coloured pixels.

Not just that, I've also made a custom 'outfit' (or variant rather) for Purse that gives her red mittens, booties and a Christmas hat to wear. Exactly just those things.

That new mod only replaces Purse's sixth costume: the holiday outfit, and it comes with both blushing and non-blushing versions like my other mods.

The rest of my mods now replace both the default and the holiday outfits simultaneously.

Here's an interesting thing if you haven't already noticed, the developers still haven't update Purse's face and bag for her other costumes which is pretty odd but anyway, I just want to say that I do have future plans for adding NSFW versions for Purse's other outfits and also the other characters including Pochette and Tote but having to use UABE for every single mod including variants is very time-consuming and exhausting so I rather wait until the game officially supports custom texture packs before I commit to making more kinds of these mods for this game.

 

Despite how tedious it was to use UABE, I still like to be generous for the holiday season so I made @flamecid's mods compatible for the latest version of the game (and added some additional sprites that the game update added). I don't think I would do this for every game update though because like I said, UABE is very time-consuming to use and I don't want too much workload. Hopefully all of our mods still work for the game's next update whenever that would be.

 

Flamecid modpack includes:

  • Topless Purse
  • Boots-Only Purse with Tanlines
  • Bottomless Pochette
  • Bottomless Pochette with Tanlines

I don't know what you mean by dialogue. This mod only replaces sprites, not text, and it shouldn't affect anything else.

Tee hee, I had to use a program called "Bottles" on my Steamdeck to run the windows executables. Did the job just fine! Used Bottles on Purse.

Oh I get you now. Sorry, I don't have any ideas on how we could easily replace the game's text/dialogue (or for any other game on the Unity Engine).

I definitely would have other characters comment on her nudity if I could though.

Anyway, I love your sprites by the way.

feel free to use them I'm still figuring out how to make a modder. Also Purse's bits were under the cut in the opening cutscene so I made a small edit

Well I still don't know how to add new dialogue but I fond how to alter existing conversations. All the text is in an Excel spreadsheet in the Streamingassests/Language folder. But the order is pretty random

Aside that the one thing I would bring back from Aaphrodisiac would be the "rape" when taking damage, is just one or two sprites, but I think if a girl is going around nude, getting dicked mid fight isn't that far off

anyone haves a backup of this mod compatible with the version1.0.946.2 of the game?? it is the latest gog version and i have buyd the game there instead of steam time ago...

I have archived all releases of my mod on MEGA, although none of them were specifically for 1.0.946.2: https://mega.nz/folder/nqYXiBiY#ZVNI5vEljeHyAZLKKlxx_g

You could try the mod versions that are labeled "[2023.12]" and "[2023.12.2]" and see if either one of them works.

 

I'll also put up the Flamecid Pack here that were released alongside my own mod.

This pack includes Topless Purse, Boots-Only Purse with Tanlines, Bottomless Pochette, and Bottomless Pochette with Tanlines, created by flamecid.

hmm... if none are for that version i hope atleast any haves akind of compatibility with it... if so atleast is good for people who have the game buyd on gog... ill test both and then ill give my feedback... thanks anyways...
edit: ok... ive tested now the 2023version of the mod (for 934) and its compatible with the previous version at gog (911) but the other one (2023.2 for 970) doesnt works with the latest gog version (946) but thats ok for me since i dont care of those kind of bugs (could be good for speedrunning or idk) if you want me to be a tester of these versions for the next update of your mod i would be pleased for helping... thanks again for archiving this...

I've decided to spend an hour on making flamecid's mods compatible with the latest version of the game (V1.0.1090.0).

I was hesitant on doing this a few months ago because whenever this game updates, it always breaks the mods and I don't want to risk wasting my time if the game updates too soon. But lately, I've noticed my mods are still working even after the game received several patches since V1.0.1046.0 so I might as well make them compatible now before the game receives its next major content update whenever that may be.

Are you going to make any more additions to your mod in the future or are you done with it? Like those sexy animations that were posted, nude villagers, lewd dialogue, sex items, nude monsters, etc... ?

I only plan to make nude sprites for the playable characters, namely Pochette and Tote.

But it's not really my priority right now since I'm more interested in modding other games.

I'm also the kind of person who just prefers nudity/exhibitionism and nothing too vulgar than that.

 

Overhauling the game to make everyone nude or have genitals, and make every item lewd would be too much work for me and if the game receives another update, I'd have to replace every single file again which isn't a quick process, it's rather tedious actually. It already took me an hour or two to make a mod installer for all variations of my Purse mods and another person's mods, I rather not spend any time longer than that because the process of replacing files is repetitive and boring.

I could still offer dialogue edits that makes NPCs react to your character's nudity in the future, but that's about it.

Hi everyone! I've found a workaround for game updates (like the recent summer update) breaking UABE installers. UABE replaces assests based on their "PathId" which means any time assests are added or removed in an update these numbers change causing the installers to replace the wrong assests. Here's how to temporarily fix this:

 

Note: This takes about an hour even with the short list of assests in this mod.

 

  1. Open the mod installer and copy the list of affected assests

  2. Once you have a list of all the files with their path ids, install the mod.
  3. Download UABE executable from the github project here: https://github.com/SeriousCache/UABE/releases
  4. Open UABE and click File -> Open
  5. Find your Backpack Hero_Data folder (Or just ask Steam to Browse Local Files open the folder from there)
  6. Open BOTH the .assets file AND the .assets.resS file for each file name listed in the installer.

    If you don't open both files per filename, you'll get an error saying the resources can't be streamed. This is because the assets only contain the data for the resources. The resources themselves are stored in the .assets.resS file.
  7. Go down the list of affected assets and export each one of them somewhere by clicking on the name of asset you want to export then on Plugins -> Export as .png. I put all of mine in a folder on my desktop.

  8. Now that you have all of the mod assets with their proper names in png form, close UABE.
  9. Next we want to revert the mod installation we just did. You can do this in a few ways:
    1. Verify Game Files in steam
    2. Uninstall and reinstall the game
    3. Find your assets files and replace them with the backups made by the mod installer
  10. At this point you have a clean install of the game. Reopen UABE and the files you had open earlier.
  11. Find the assets with the matching path id like before, but now look around that area for an asset with a matching name.
    DO NOT use the search function! There are likely many resources with the same name and type as the one we're looking to replace!
  12. Once you find the asset with the matching name near the path id you're looking for, click on it and then on Plugins -> Edit

  13. Click Load and open the png from the mod with the same name. By default, UABE exports files as [asset-name]-[asset-file]-[path-id].
    There won't be any visible confirmation that you've done this right so make triple sure you're replacing the right texture with the right mod texture.
  14. Once you've replaced every asset on the list, click File -> Apply and Save All. This will give you modded copies of each file you changed. You can use these copies to mod any installation of the game with the same version number.
  15. Optionally you can use the Mod Maker under File to create mod installers or package files for convenience.
  16. All's that's left is to launch the game and see if it works! If you notice any textures that didn't get changed you can change them individually in UABE later.

Honestly, this is precisely why I'm hesitant to maintain my (and flamecid's) mods for this game because if it receives another update, it could potentially break them and an hour would be wasted if the game got updated so soon. The workaround you provided seems to be nearly the same method I used to mod the game except I already know the file names so I searched for the new Path IDs instead.

 

Anyway, maybe I should prioritise on making my Purse mods working again before I finish work on Pochette.

My mod now supports the Summer Update (V1.0.1161.0).

This one's only a compatibility patch, but I might release a big update for the mod itself soon.

 

Making Pochette nude may not be the only thing I could do for the next mod update...

Someone mentioned before that I could edit the dialogue by directly editing a localisation spreadsheet file, and since I've been getting a kick out of editing in nudity reactions to other games, I decided to look into editing the dialogue for this game's story mode too. (Only planned for the nude / boots-only variants.)

The beginning narrative in the first two screenshots may be different though, because I've gotten an idea on why Purse would lose her clothes. Just think about it.
