Wet Function Redux SE isn't working.

I posted a bug report on the Nexus mod page 2 days ago, but haven't gotten a response. Maybe they're busy. I dunno. Anyway, I'm reinstalling my mods for SSE because I decided to wipe my PC of everything. The reasons are irrelevant. Everything was going good until I tried reinstalling WFR-SE. The mod just isn't working at all. Here's the bug report I gave:

I installed everything as instructed, with the correct versions of all requirements (I'm playing SE, so the versions I have are SKSE64 2.00.20, RaceMenu SE 0.4.16, Papayrus 3.7, SkyUI 5.2), but the MCM menu doesn't appear. I tried installing the mod from here and LL, but the menu doesn't appear. I ran LOOT after installation, if that matters, and it detected nothing wrong. Nothing needed to be cleaned with XEdit or whatever. I don't have Sexlab or any of that installed. Did I miss something?

I know this may sound really silly, but.... did you activate the mod after installation? You'd be surprised how many forget to check this.

Because you said that, I immediately went and checked just to make sure that I wasn't being an idiot, or having a "blonde moment", as Babydoll likes to say (I am a blonde, for those who don't know). To answer your question, yes it was activated in my LO.

My first thought to your comment was "Of course it was! I'm not stupid! ... Right???" As soon as I had that thought, I went and checked my LO, and it was activated. I jumped into my game just to be safe. The mod is activated but not working.

You have to activate the effect on your character manually
The mod is technically already activated
It's the effect that needs activation

The effect isn't the problem. The mod itself isn't working. The MCM menu doesn't even appear in the list of mod menus.

Try to delete the Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition\SKSE folder and try again

So, completely delete SKSE and reinstall it?

Just delete that directory. And run the game again

What about all of the stuff that's in that folder?

It will be recreated once you play the game, but probably you have already figured it out. You just have to set up all the other mods mcm menu as well.

It didn't work. I don't know what the hell is wrong with this damn mod. I'm using, more or less, the exact same versions of the requirements and stuff I did last time (which is also the versions the mod author said to use). Before, the mod worked fine, but now the mod isn't working at all. Also, nothing is conflicting with it, so I know that's not the issue. I really don't know what else can be done here. I did everything EXACTLY how the mod author said to do it, but the mod just isn't working. That's what's frustrating me the most.

Ok, so I used console commands to see if the game was even registering the mod or whatever, and I found this.

So, the mod is in the game, I guess. But why isn't the damn MCM menu showing up? Without it, I can't use the damn mod. All other mods are showing up, so it's not an MCM issue. At least, I don't think it is.

Replace the one that came with wet function redux with the updated script (WetFunctionReduxMCM.pex)

Did it work?

As a "just in case check" ... Make sure you have enough face/hands/body overlays available. check Skee64.ini.

Mine are set for 6 each, and they seem to work well enough most of the time, although I do have other mods that fight for "Overlay visibility supremacy" once and a while, when they fire off their own buff/debuff overlay tricks. Hain't figured that one out quite yet. (having both simultaneously)

Also, remember to register your player and trigger the effects for it, since unlike many other mods, it doesn't automatically act upon you.

Also... As I recall, to get the sweaty/rain-droplety skin F/X, you need to download some extra files (DDS overlays if I recall correctly)

Is 3 enough? Assuming skee64.ini is from RaceMenu, they all seem to be set to 3.

When only RaceMenu is installed? Sure, it's 3 too many.
