Citizen's Sex Rights


::I didn't include this with my portrait pack, because I know there are plenty of people who don't use it, but still might enjoy having this

 

   I often find myself defaulting into authoritarian empires during my Stellaris playthroughs, but what if a multispecies democracy could be just as kinky as despotic despoilers? I have the power, so why shouldn't I?... Well, I thought I did, it turns out that you can't add new "species rights" categories to Stellaris, and can only expand on the currently existing ones. I had this whole plan to do new category based on the boundaries between interspecies relationships, but sadly the game won't let me. Damn. Well, kk, so it'll have to be another replacer mod. Luckily for me, not a lot of mods on the workshop even do this, so I don't think I'm stepping on too many toes.

   Mechanically speaking, all these different rights essentially make citizen species happy and resident species unhappy. By spreading misery "the love" across your Empire you can stack all those little citizenship happiness bonus's onto just a few of them. That way, your desert habitability overlords might be willing to tolerate living on a frozen death planet if there are enough xenos to bang.

 

CITZEN's SEX RIGHTS:: stellaris v3.11.*
   x9 citizenship rights(examples in the screenshots above)
   x3 living standards
   x2 military service types

   x5 slavery types

   x3 livestock types + x1 hivemind livestock type
   x2 purge types

   x3 job types - sex addicts(unemployment type), den mothers and brood mares(unemployment types for creature breeders)

Purity Preservation:: (WiP) I need to make it so that you can't designate a species for preservation if you've taken the hybridization policy from LV. As of right now, it just checks if the species isn't dependant on interspecies coupling to survive.
Carnal Absolution:: something for the spiritualists out there. Basically Catholic indulgences, but it's sex in exchange for residential privildges AND salvation. Ain't that nice?
Droit Du Seigneur:: restricted to just oligarchic, imperial, and feudal society civics. for those who aren't aware, this is the shit Gilgamesh was doing that made his citizens so pissed off at him. the... "right of the king" to fuck your wife on your wedding night. real NTR shit. don't go here.
Slut Markings:: government regulated womb tattoos, er something. allows residents to signal to citizens what they want to get used for. totally, optional. might even be healthy... exfoliating.
Mandatory Breeding:: I mean it's in the name. contraceptives are illegal for this species to use... I think it must mean menstruating is illegal too... if she goes into heat, I guess she's not allowed to say no. hey I'm just saying, if they didn't like it, those resident xenos can emigrate away anytime.
Orgasmic Consent:: OKAY!!! okay. I get it, this list gets worse the further down we go. I get it. We've surpassed the DubCon event horizon.
Compulsive Exclusivity:: what is this? the opposite of purity preservation? so, they're not even allowed to mate with their own kind, the ruling citizen class just gets to have them all to themselves?
Legalized Fuck-Meat:: JESUS. Tell me this is the last one, tell me the list ends here. we can't keep going down this wretched path.

Emergency Relief:: you're literally nothing. even slaves can make use of this species.

 

Sex Slavery:: right well, I guess that makes sense. We've left the resident rights category and dipped right down into just straight up slavery. But what's cool about this one, is that I've tied some of it into LV, such that sex slaves will almost always be given the breeder jobs, whore jobs, and dairy cow jobs.
Heirodules:: found out about these when I wikipedia'd aphrodite temples. damn those greeks were up to some based shit.
Handmaidens:: I haven't seen "A Handmaids Tale", but it sounds hot. Was it not written to be hot? I heard it makes people upset. I'm reading the synopsis on wikipedia and it sounds like smut. I bet it's really good smut.

Milk Maidens:: more maidens? oh, what's next after this one? finger maidens? We can already do a lot with milk cow girls through LV, so I thought I'd do less of the same and make a slave class based on bull milking. Katching!

Red Light Workers:: government regulated hookers? Move over Big Brother Ingsoc, it's time for Big Pimp Feds!

Seedbeds:: have priority toward LV's breeder job. pretty simple.

Pleasure Stock:: sex toys for hive minds.

Brood Mothers:: baby care workers for hive minds.

Breedable Stock:: egg incubators for hive minds.

Cum Stock:: matrix style milk/cum batteries for machines.

 

Subsidized Contraceptives:: Free condoms for everyone!!! I guess all the zoomers got the right to vote and are effecting politics. I guess they're vote for free netflix subscriptions next.

Sensual Taxation:: basically a living standard where the pops gotta "pay up" a new kind of "sexy sales tax" in exchange for goods and services.

Seminal Subsistance:: If your dominant species has the nutritious cum trait, then you can shut down all the farms and have all your xenos live off of the um, uh. seed dispensers.

 

Raiders:: OH! A "military job" job? That's nice. Looks like they just go down there to fuck first and kill questions later, or something like that.

Trench Wives:: (WiP) I would want it to somehow enhance your other armies, possibly, but I don't know how to code that. But I did make a new "fit for combat" check. it just looks to see if said species is too fuckable to be wasted on the fontlines. you know? I'm just glad that I haven't added any kinky new purge types.

 

Fucked into Extinction:: OH, GOD DAMMIT CAL! but... tbh, this is kinda funny. I made it so that not even fanatic xenophobes can let such good breeding stock go to waste. Those damn Stupid Sexy Xenos! Literally though, it uses the same "fit for combat" check to determine if you're even allowed to genocide them the normal way, or if you gotta do it the abnormal way.
Shroud Bimbofication:: species won't covert? just kill em. This one overrides the usual policy restriction if you've got fanatic spiritualist. But yee, you sacrifice 'em to the shroud and sometimes the shroud produces a miracle and turns one of them into a bimbo instead. neat. thanks, shroud diety.

 

INSTALATION::
   1a. download the mod
      1b. the mod plays nice with the Lustful Void mod by Lithia<3, I don't know why you'd download this mod and NOT LV
      1c. the mod also plays nice with the Trait Pack I have also made available in the mod's download section
   2. place inside "C:\Users\*User_Name*\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\mod\" folder
   3. extract the contents of *insert_mod_name*.zip
   4. open the Stellaris Launcher and include the mods in your playset

 

COMPATABILITY::
   any mod that modifies the game's "species_rights" folder is gonna blow up. So you'll have to choose between the two. Other than that, it should play well with Lustful Void.

Looks interesting, I will take a look and let you know if I find any bugs. This mod does remind me of the following from the workshop:

Its outdated now, and the original author abandoned the project but it tried to get around the same hurdles you encountered it seems. I always liked it for its larger slavery variations. Might be something to look at for inspiration if nothing else.

An idea similar to "criminal penance" species right could be "religious penance".
A fanatic or regular spiritalist empire could set other species to a "religious sexual penance" types of slavery/living standards/purge type

Rambling ideas of a man who doesn't understand the limitations of modding:

Citizen and residence species could have a living standard of "Sexual penance" That reduces happiness, pop growth, food upkeep, consumer upkeep, job output
and in exchange grants increased sex job output and other species are granted increased sex job output, reduced consumer goods upkeep, increased pop growth speed, increased happiness, government ethics attraction and adding a tiny amount of stability for each pop in the penance living standars on that planet
The idea being that this species has been indoctrinated into your empire's beliefes but also being denounced as failing to uphold the beliefs of your empire or simply for being alien and must repent by providing sexual services for the other species of your empire, living a life of extreme minimalism to repent.

Or as a slavery type it reduces happiness, job output but increases stability, sex job, sex job output of other species, and the enslaved species gets increased government ethics attraction
The idea being that they're a slave species that is being indoctrinated into believing that they deserve their enslavement

Finally as a purge type they're enslaved and used as breeding stock to advance your main species' holy crusade or to fuel its "inevitable" rise to ruling the galaxy. It would be a very slow purging method as instead of killing the undesirable species, it's instead just due to the species being unable to reproduce with their own kind and generally living in poor underfed conditions.

Makes sense. Instead of having just the one slavery type, I could split it up into one for each of the sex jobs that comes with LV

Spiritualist angle? I'll see if I can come up with something. The main thing that's unfortunate though is that species rights don't have the same kind of pop modifier power as traits or civics got. species rights are actually pretty limited.

I tend to play mine as a private merchant empire with some authoritarian. Mostly keep my species pure ( a all male species just for no reason.). I wouldn't mind seeing a citizen right as trophy species. Which increase happiness and they only do entertainer jobs.

I'll need to remember to try this for my next playthrough.  In my current game, my primary species has been using the Noxious trait to perform a similar job of granting my ruling caste happiness at the expense of the happiness of a slave caste that has no political strength.  It has been permitting my rulers to happily maintain stability over minimum habitability worlds, with the exception of a few edge case systems where I had to institute martial law and employ extra enforcers.

Base game kind of does this with livestock. Slavery being one of two mechanical impacts; "prisoners with jobs" who work normal pop jobs but as slaves with particular modifiers, or Livestock which can't work normal jobs but produce a certain resource all the time. I think the former is already well covered in the base game, but a variety a sex jobs by species rights for the latter would be interesting.

Yeh, i just transfered it from my portrait pack without thought. But yeh, i think because this.mod has a different ethos, it would be correct to take that out. I might even strip it down even more for this application. For thise who cant wait. Just delete the species_archetypes folder

K! I'm pushing out an update.

 

This is still a WiP mod, as I'm still taking people's input. As such, I won't be updating the screenshots to reflect changes until I think the mod is in a good place and I can call it fully released.

 

I've expanded to x4 types of slavery as I mentioned above to categorize your pops into specific LV jobs with. I also added a new living standard. AND I took the spiritualist playthrough feedback and made a new shroud purge type and a sexual indulgences for the church resident type. Tweaks were also made here and there so that sex slaves won't be seen working down in the mines and I also made it so you can't pick purity preservation if you're a xenophile. stats were tweaked, but I can't remember it all. Other than that, I've stripped down the supplementary trait pack on offer a bit.

 

Have at it. remember, I'm not testing this shit for bugs, so I expect issues until I've spent more time developing this thing.

This mod seems to break some of the jobs. The cause appears to be extra } on lines 360 and 921 of lv_prostitution_worker_jobs.txt, line 987 of lv_growth_worker_jobs.txt and line 370 of lv_dairy_worker_jobs.txt.

 

Edit: You also appear to be basing the changes on an old version of LV. Not sure if this is intentional or not. Just thought you might want to check your version of LV.

ALRIGHT, new update available for download.

 

This one's pretty spicy. At first, I just thought it would be good if the fuck-meat and sexual-relief pops had unemployment priority over regular working citizens. That way you wouldn't have their debuffs taking up valuable production slots... But then I thought, "what if they had their own type of unemployment?" So that's what I did, I added a new "Sex Addict" unemployment job. Basically, since they are designated as "free use" under the laws of your Empire, then you would think they could still lead regular lives and go safely to and from work if there aren't any xenos around on the planet with them. But if there are soooo many citizen pops that they can't find work, then that just "thematically" means they are being so oversexed that they can't hold a steady job anymore. As sex addicts, they won't take up much housing or amenities upkeep, they just need food. So late into the game, when you are suffering from overpopulation, and don't want to switch to slavery or purging pops, you can just designate one of your species as free use, and they will get shunted into this new "sex addicted unemployment" state. The best part is, is that sex addicts get a happiness buff to counteract the negative effects of being a second class citizen.

 

Am I not just the most evil of geniuses? I've basically created a mechanic that allows you to mind break you pops.

 

EDIT:: fine tuned the job weights a bit more to help ensure that resident pops take sex addict jobs before citizen pops take unemployment.

It is possible to make jobs work like the "servant" job,i.e all pops of this species take it,it is also possible to make a policy that toggles whether or not all domestic servants are forced to take it,or are just given the job when they have nothing else to do.
I use this mod with lustfull void and the directors cut mod from calcifire and I have no issues except a bug with the concubine modifier appearing and disappearing.
It is janky with "stratified society" (still doesn't break game) but works fine with "slaves" and AI never uses the features.
Calcifire should look into this mod,maybe you can make them directly take lustful void jobs without needing custom jobs.
It's a very cool feature anyways,I would like custom jobs too.
I customized the mod for myself,changing the localization descriptions and the mod gfx,but I can't bother with anything else.

Just an unintended bug. I was considering putting in a new army type for such things, but I couldnt make it cool enough. I would want to give them like a health regen, basically. That sounds fucking sick if you could make it work, hope you can get it to work, would certainly make certain species a lot easier to modify so I don't have to do the bare minimum so they can fight while still being the best I can make them.
