ktq51073 Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 (edited) It's 2023, I'm just coming back to Skyrim and everything is a mess. Many mods abandoned, outdated or running with unofficial patches posted in a lost comment in some forum. It's hard to keep up. So, I have Skyrim GOG version 1.6.659 and tried SoS SE, SoS AE, and SoS PapyrusUtil Version and none of them are working for me. SoS mod menu is not showing up in SkyUI and there's a hole where the schlong should be. I realize my load order may be messed up but I can't find the issue. Can you guys help me out? Just Don't Posted March 30, 2023 Posted March 30, 2023 Look closer. There's a Skyrim Special Edition forum section (no, don't look for an AE one or a GOG one, it's not going to happen). There are threads (even pinned ones!) with lots of information about mod compatibility. https://www.loverslab.com/topic/94228-se-compatibility-tracking-mar-26-7764/ huge list. There's a GOG one somewhere but last time I checked (1 min ago) it wasn't so complete and it's a bit outdated if I'm being honest. I wonder why. Anyways, for GOG you have an updated dll in the Multi-edition installer for SOS. You install it on top of SOS SE 1.1.4 and select the GOG version. You'll have to hunt for GOG versions of pretty much every mod containing a dll, so good luck.

Hence why I think I may be doing something wrong with load order.
Just Don't Posted March 30, 2023 Posted March 30, 2023 (edited) Nothing in your loadorder seems obviously out of place. I see you placed the XPMSE plugin at the bottom. The real question would be which mod is providing the skeleton.nif file. If you make it so SOS loads after XPMSE in your mod manager you won't be using the XPMSE skeleton (this is in terms of mod files, not your loadorder), even if you're forcing XPMSE that low into your loadorder. The same goes for the updated dll, you must confirm said dll is overwriting the main SOS installation or else you're not actually using the updated one. No idea what else to check, GOG is unknown territory for me. Edited March 30, 2023 by Just Don't
ktq51073 Posted March 30, 2023 Author Posted March 30, 2023 I agree something about the skeleton is messed up, but I don't know what. Quote If you make it so SOS loads after XPMSE in your mod manager you won't be using the XPMSE skeleton (this is in terms of mod files, not your loadorder), even if you're forcing XPMSE that low into your loadorder Can you elaborate on this? Also, this is the left panel on my MO2, if it counts for something.

If you place XPMSSE before SOS, your game will use the skeletons provided by SOS, because that's what the left side of MO represents: the order in which mod files are loaded. If 2 mods provide the same file (example the skeleton.nif for humanoid actors) the last one to load will win this conflict. The loadorder for the SOS and XPMSSE plugins have no effect on this file conflict. From your screenshot I can see XPMSSE is correctly loading its files after SOS. But your SoS AE Multi-Edition is disabled. So the updated dll is not being used by your game. Enable it and see if that makes any difference in your current save or a new one. edit: also, as i see you use HIMBO and I was mentioning file conflicts and mod order (left side of MO), you should place HIMBO below SOS. I think the same goes for loadorder. At least the instructions recommend SOS -> HIMBO -> XPMSSE in loadorder. You should try using LOOT and see if that produces a functional loadorder, it's not a perfect tool but at this point you don't have many plugins so chances to get an issue are very slim and easy to spot IMO. But since there was no change whatsoever I took the .dll and straight up replaced the one in SoS to see what happens. So it was empty at the time. I reinstalled both mods now. Also, I moved HIMBO below SoS but above XPMSSE in both panels. Still no change. LOOT says everything is fine I guess. What pisses me off is that MCM doesn't recognize SoS in any version... SE, AE, dll, no dll, GOG, etc. (It should say 2) And whatever I do the end result still looks like this: Edited March 31, 2023 by ktq51073
