Loneliness? Yeah... I deal with this sometimes. I put it out of my mind as something I can't really control since my attempts at getting to know ppl usually fail for one reason or another. I like the world going on around me and observing it much more than actively participating anyway. That's not to say that I'm a bore with ppl. I like doing most things with others and am willing to try new things. Perhaps I'm the one that has standards and- without me needing to say anything- ppl sense it. ?

I was always a People watcher, but interactions usually failed as I usually did not want to do some of the stupid shit others wanted to go do, and standards, Yeah. Wouldn't "Do" the pass around girls which got me a "Tag".

But most of the time Not cool enough for school.

OMG I remember that! I wouldn't play that game either since I really liked most women as people- not just someone to be used to prop up an inflated ego. So... I got "tagged" as well. 

 

But what I found out is that damn near everyone likes to hide their true selves behind a facade and in a group so as not to be singled out. And they don't like anyone that seems to see past it. Call it defense mechanism I suppose.

Currently? Yes I am.

 

Whilst I still do contractual work, especially in design; the chances of me signing or vetting  a "conduct clause" is now zero; and the chances of me putting up with anything coming from Marketing is relation to Design as some kind of gospel are less than zero.

 

I have no problem altering design to accommodate new or disabled players or streamlining mechanics to fit a particular scheme that's made to accommodate as many differing types of players as possible; but if the words "engagement strengthening" or "creating heavy users" are going to come out of your mouth you better hope there's literal physical distance between me and you, cause I am beyond done with that pandery predatory shit.

Kind of nice when you can set your own rules, "Damn the Torpedo's" as I heard many times from Gramps. I was in the Service industry, we couldn't afford to piss off the customer or the boss without a pink slip showing up.
