New to the modding scene. Any recommendations for me and likely other curious simmers to try? No rush.

Hello, those who read this. The gist of this post is that in order to preserve my sanity from finding mods that give a good base to work from, I request help on figuring it all out. Things like CAS and CC don't make sense to me, I only started learning about the Sims 4 modding community. I want to learn the best I can. I'm sure many others in the past, current time, and future will struggle like me too. Don't worry about dumbing it down for me, I personally request you explain Sims 4 modding to me like I am five. I'm uncertain the pinned guides/modlist on this general forum are fully relevant or updated. Especially with this recent patch. In summary, treat me like a dry sponge waiting for pints of knowledge. Also, feel free to direct me to fundamental and/or must-have mods, lewd or no. I will gladly discuss things with anyone that answers for a while. I am out of my depth on the moment.
