[SOLVED] Load order help

Recommended Posts

Posted

Yes, I know people have already made topics like this, but hear me out, my situation's slightly different, but the circumstances are unique, so I feel it justifies a new topic. I'm sorry, but I felt this necessary rather than sifting through hundreds of topics and possibly necro-ing them (or bumping them, whichever term is preferred)...

ANYHOOTY!

I'm CTDing upon creating a new save and loading an existing save (Yeah, smooth move, cap! The one thing NOT to do!) I know it's a problem with my load order, I know it for a fact, but I can't see anything immediately wrong (Due to inexperience and lack of ability to notice these things). I'm using ModOrganizer 2, so things can be pretty screwy, I'm not sure if one of the load orders matter, but if it does, they both should matter, I know that typically, the plugins need to be a certain way.

As you may have guessed, I have TWO load orders to post, one of which is NOT impacted by LOOT (I know, BOSS is supposed to be the thing, but... y'know...) So yes, I already took one of the load orders to LOOT, with no change in results.

How this works: I'm clarifying the STATUS SYMBOLS ahead of time! You'll thank me later! What you DON'T see are overwrite statuses! Which aren't really all that important, but it helps me determine how I want things to work, in a sense...

+= Enabled, this means the MOD or DLC or WHATEVER, is turned ON! Very simple!

-= DISABLED, meaning the MOD or DLC or WHATEVER, is turned OFF! It is a no-go!

These are important because you'll see things that're very WEIRD...

Some items will have a DATE instead of a VERSION number, I can't help this, some stuff is from HERE rather than Nexus, I didn't think much of these things, but if they don't have a version that's comprehendable, assume it's the most up to date item.

MODS load order (Not PLUGINS)

So my questions are: Which load order is the trouble order? What SHOULD it look like? Is my Autism hiding something from me I should otherwise know about? Is the MOD load order as important as the PLUGIN load order? Is LOOT otherwise unhelpful in this situation? Are there things that I'm missing that I may not have been made aware of? Is Bob yer flippin' uncle? Could this be due to a bad mod? Will I stop asking questions?!

Perhaps. Perhaps not.

I apologize again for the inconvenience, and I thank you for your patience.

May the shadows bring safety to you.

Loot is used precisely to optimise the loading order

for a CTD during an upload, did you by any chance add/remove any important Masters? ESM .
If so, that explains the cause .
When creating a save, did you install the various fixes?
Did you consult the Conglomerate guide?
Considered the mods in use, rather than a Load order?
Did you check FNIS for errors?

Are you sure you are not missing any requirements?

Loot only touches the PLUGIN load order, not the MOD load order...

ESMs were added, yes, none removed, not as far as I'm aware, given YiffyAge has one or more ESMs, hard to remember...

Not sure what this means... I can't answer with any certainty...

I wasn't aware this existed, I'll need the link to it...

Uhhhh....? Need more context...

Yes, came back no errors.

I'm pretty confident...

It is not, not in MY case, I don't think? I didn't see an option in the installer...

You can always cross-reference the two load orders, something might come up that way

looks like you are MO user. You dont have skeleton active in plugin order which I think is ok, in the left plane of MO you need to make sure nothing is overwriting skeleton minus MoreNastyCritters. So left plane Skelton just above morenasty critters with no sos in left plane coming after those 2. In plugin window(right plane MO) make sure all sos stuff is above more nasty critters

You need enb boost installed and need a fuck ton of patience with LO and users in forums.

Many mods work precisely on plugins which, if they are not correctly positioned, could create problems or not work properly .

Basically, the order of installation is more important than how they are loaded .

For example : If you install Violens Killmove, you will also install JContainer, if you install Dance of Death Killmove , you will override Violens and JContainers .

In case of any problem with some other mod that requires JContainers , just reinstall JContainers to fix it

Lemme see if I'm understanding this correctly... My XP32 Skeletons mod should be placed above MNC, and have THAT below everything else that may conflict with it? Including YiffyAge? Not sure what to make of it, but okay?

Also, what the HELL is ENB Boost? I'm supposed to know what it is and I forgot what it is...

I'm not sure if it even IS an issue with JContainers... I can't find any log files that I can attach to help with this... Even if I did have a log file, it's usually in Greek to me, so figuring it out is nearly impossible...

Including YiffyAge

I have never used said mod? Does MO say that it conflcts with xpmse? The golden rule was always to not have anything overwrite skeleton, the one exception I was aware of was more nasty critters. If YiffyAge mod page says to overwrite skeleton then probably fine, if it doesnt say either way I would not allow it to overwrite my skeleton.

enb binary file for gaming superiority. google it, in fact google how to install enb boost with MO. unless you want enb preset. Either option you should find a gopher or a GamerPoets video on it. You want enb boost minimum. And you want memory allocation fix. Memory allocation fix can be done with crash fixes and or skse ini though the crash fixes is considered best solution. If need be google it.  You will not make it far modding without memory allocation fix and an enb binary set up

No... It doesn't conflict with it, the two seem to be okay with each other...

Right... hit a roadblock!

So, not sure if everyone knows this; but I'm running the regular Skyrim (Skyrim: LE considering I have the DLCs installed, I guess, otherwise not sure the differences), not Skyrim SE, ENBHelper seems to only be available for SkyrimSE, and I can't upgrade to SE for quite a few reasons, the main of which is I can't afford it right now, and I don't make enough money for it to make sense.

Any suggestions?

In fact, I did not say that. I only gave an example on the order of installation . When you install a mod, it often overwrites pre-existing files . Installing in the correct order (at least as far as primary masters are concerned) is NOT the same as loading order

Both USLEEP and an Alternative start can be added to this list.

I... didn't say anything to generate this kind of response...? I simply said that I wasn't sure...? The two part things don't make sense to me... I guess it's a sort of load order thing? SKSE was installed via Steam, but just as a precaution, I also redownloaded it and put it in Skyrim's folders where needed, out of fear that the Steam installation didn't work... I didn't install USLEEP because I was concerned that there was a difference between S:LE and the classic Skyrim and I have no way to get S:LE...

I don't use S:SE, I have the regular Skyrim with the three DLC, not sure if it qualifies as S:LE or not...

As for the log, not sure if this helps...

Use LOOT on the new game.
And move XP32 on MODS load order

Have you copied the skse files to the game directory? They should not be in MO2 mod folder.

Effectively, I've installed SKSE through Steam, is that okay?

Now install this...

01. 85443 Load Game CTD Fix - An SKSE plugin to prevent crashing that may occur when loading games

02. 100672 Animation Limit Crash Fix LE - The patch fixes the crash on game loading when you install too many animations with FNIS

03. 72725 Crash Fixes - Fixes the save 65000 string error.

04. Skyrim Memory Optimizer - This will make your computer fly. For users with crappy CPU.

05. NPC AI Lag Fix - A SKSE plugin, which fixes the bug that the game engine cannot correctly handle the NPC AI process after the player is waiting, sleeping and other events.

06. Grid Transition CTD Fix - This mod fixes rare CTD (not so rare if you have many mods) that appears with grid transition.

07. NPC AI Behavior Fixes - Plugin - A SKSE plugin, which fixes some AI errors that may exist in the NPC in the Skyrim game engine, and fixes some problems. It does not include scripts and esp files. And dont use 106085.

People here are going out of their way to help you, please stop with the hand-wringing and teeth-gnashing.

Maybe just for the sake of clarity, since you're using MO2, let's call the stuff in your left pane your "install order" and the plugins in your right pane your "load order."  When we're talking about two different load orders, it's confusing everybody.

Next, I'm not sure what you mean when you say you  installed SKSE via Steam.  Here's a link to a Gopher vid about installing SKSE for Mod Organizer 1; installing it for MO2 will be pretty much the same.  You can also look on Gamer Poets channel, I'm sure he'll have a tutorial as well.  You may have already installed it correctly, but please watch that video and make sure.

When is your game crashing?  Is it during/after the Bethesda logo screen, or after a few moments of actual gameplay?

Can you make screenshots of the right pane of your MO2?  Post them here.  We're looking for the little red triangle with a "!" inside of it next to any of your plugins in your right pane.

It looks like you only have about 40 or so plugins at the moment, based on the list you posted earlier.  Fewer plugins can help make it easier to narrow down the problem.  Once you've taken screenshots of your right pane with all of those 40ish mods enabled, why don't you try unchecking all but the official game and dlcs in the right pane.  Do nothing in the left pane for this.   Your 40 plugins will still be in the right pane, but only Skyrim, Update, DG, HF and DB will be checked and active.  Make sure the game starts with just them checked.  Then (in the right pane still) check the boxes for 3-4 more plugins at a time and see if your game runs.  When your game fails to launch, you'll know you've found the problem and it will be easy to pinpoint which of the 3 or 4 is the issue.

Looking at the load order/plugin list you posted, I noticed a couple of things:

First, you're using the CBBE body, and a SOS Shlongs for UNP add-on.  It may technically work (maybe) but may not look right - the bones (and boner) may not be aligned properly.

Second, what may possibly be the cause of your crash.  You have the Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch (no problem there, a good mod to have).  Towards the end of your plugin/load order, you have RaceCompatibilityUSKPOverride.  The Unofficial Patch used to actually be Unofficial Patches before Arthmoor et al merged them.  We had Unofficial Skyrim Patch (UKSP), Unofficial Dawnguard Patch, etc.  That RaceCompatibilityUSKPOverride may be looking for the old Unofficial Skyrim (only) Patch instead of the current Legendary Edition Patch.  The little red triangle with the ! in it next to a plugin in the right pane - that's a good place to start looking.

I'm starting to get pretty sick of this replying system... This is now my third attempt as of writing this...

I don't see how, but okay... I play Fallout 4, and the AFM for AAF calls the two panes the "Mods load order" for the left pane, and the "Plugin load order" for the right pane... But whatever floats your goat, I guess...

After the Bethesda screen, but BEFORE any actual gameplay...

Also rather inefficient, but okay... this just became a project that I'll be doing when I can actually be bothered, so don't expect me to get back right away, sorry...

Looking at the load order/plugin list you posted, I noticed a couple of things:

First, you're using the CBBE body, and a SOS Shlongs for UNP add-on.  It may technically work (maybe) but may not look right - the bones (and boner) may not be aligned properly.

Yeah... I tried to find something for the CBBE, and the one I have CLAIMS to add CBBE support, but... *shrugs* I don't know of any better options...

USLEEP (Is that what it's called?) Is the best I could get because of the fact that there was no patch for the REGULAR Skyrim, and I don't know what differences between the regular Skyrim and SLE are, so... *shrugs* But besides that, everything seems to be fine... Besides the crash... not sure...
