landess Posted November 27, 2022 Posted November 27, 2022 I can add Cherry 2000 and A.I. to that movie list. From A.I. - "What do you know, Joe?" "How's the game, Jane?" 1
Heroine HoneyCrotch Posted November 27, 2022 Posted November 27, 2022 Little(ish) off topic......... In the movie Prometheus, the black Captain Janek throws some lines at Vickers(Weylands daughter) and she shoots him down. Then he hits her where it hurts, "Are you a robot" and she submits! Always loved this scene in that mostly forgettable movie, I always felt like he knew She hated and resented David and that basically she had some daddy issues going on to which he was able to take advantage of. Sounds kinda bad but whatever, dude is years away from the women of earth and Vickers was far from hard on the eyes, not to mention she was kinda of a bitch in the movie(personally I didn't like what ended up happening to her, actually enjoyed her character) Spoiler

Probably due to serious backlash from detractors. What they're talking about in this vid is something my friend has expressed interest in since she has been terminally ill for some time now. She wants to live forever and would happily volunteer for experimental brain transfer or whatever. but it's not just her predicament that motivates her since she has said more than once she is very interested in A.I. and robotics and has somewhat of a background in related areas. I'm really sorry about your friend.? Please give her honest wish return to health from me. Don't criticize, just support your friend in her dreams and goals.? Insidious virus and unholy acts of demonic army, have changed people's priorities.? I am not a good example of Christian, but I still believe that faith in God can work miracles!? However, so this could happen ~ human must first respect His will and His Commandments. I'm just trying to say that there are people who have faith in God and not in human technology. Religion and technology don't mix.. The people shows respect for life in different ways, so that's why there is so much criticism about androids.? Spoiler Prosthetic implants and nanotechnological augmentation - Another controversial subject that arouses fear or fascination in people.? Deus Ex: Human Revolution - This game with cyberpunk elements got aptly / pertinent title to its plot.? Spoiler Smartfon wouldn't be a man if he didn't share his fave music with community of LL!? By the way, one of my Nexus' shot with hot android girl.? Edited November 27, 2022 by smartfon

Hiding behind stagnation/ignorance is the last thing we need at this point because that will kill us as a species more assuredly than any accidents we may suffer on the journey to knowledge/understanding imo. We don't stop, we become more responsible. This should definitely be a reality in the next ten years or so; Edited November 28, 2022 by KoolHndLuke

KoolHndLuke Posted December 31, 2022 Author Posted December 31, 2022 Once again I delve into a subject of which I have very little knowledge or understanding. Then again, that's probably why I brought it up.
I see something like this positively - because it corresponds exactly to the nature of a minority of humanity -> curiosity and the creativity that is generated from it It's just not the nature of humanity to be "curious" and "creative" - because the majority of them have always been "lazy" and "uninterested" Only a small fraction of people drive human progress - often against the massive opposition of the majority. How do terms come about? - the inventor was ahead of his time - a mad scientist - a lonely genius Why does narrative literature itself deal with the subject of "progress versus primal fears" - a plot like that in Fr. Shelly's "Sr. Frankenstein" shows that ultimately a large proportion of people are not willing to look beyond their own noses and would rather reaches for "torch-and-pitchfork" to solve the problem in whatever way he sees fit! That's why marketing concepts and their makers are so important today - the effort of the companies is to bring even the smallest "pseudo" progress to the man or woman. Funds and resources flow into this and not into actual progress I have already written elsewhere that I was already involved with robotics during my studies 35 years ago - we students are building a welding robot in the test field of our university as part of a scientific practical work. At that time, the first big push in terms of industrial robots was taking place - Sweden set the standard in terms of articulated-arm robots and Japan had the first production lines in automobile construction that were "equipped" entirely with robots instead of human workers. Even if I took a different path after my studies and never had anything to do directly with robots professionally again - I always "kept an eye on" the topic. That's why I was so fascinated around the year 2000 to see the first robot walking upright on its 2 legs - but it took another 20 years until you could make an "Atlas" from "Bosten Dynamic" do a somersault. Yes - with money you can accelerate a development to a limit where it just can't go any faster (see the stories of the "Manhatten Project") However, one can also vice versa delay a development with scarce funds until it actually becomes "superfluous". With all this, one should consider - that the majority of people do not want any "progress" that puts them in any way mentally in a state to deal with the "new" and still have to leave the "comfort zone". That you "dare" to "poke around" in topics that you don't understand anything about at first... ..I personally see it positively - because it shows "curiosity" and "I-would-like-to-understand-something" 1

The mass produced chips for most electronics aren't nearly sophisticated enough for this purpose. We'll never see anything like sex androids that can move and speak with fluidity because it is- as you say- an unnecessary extravagance and not well supported socially or financially. The only way it would come about is through the efforts of someone with deep, deep pockets- like Elon Musk. I'm pretty sure sex androids aren't on the brain, lol.
