Comfortblynumb2 Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 I've done some googling and never found an answer to these questions, so i'm making this thread to ask. What is the best option? Defeat? Submit? or Defeat, with Death Alternative? I'm asking, because i'm having some issues in regards to getting everything to work, and i have SL1.6 hotfix 2 I just got everything installed, and working good...and then my HDD failed, and i lost everything. So back to square one, i again start installing. Now, i've always used DA with Defeat, but it seems like there are some issues. For instance, it works once, and then fails to start any time after that. I get the knocked down animation fine, and then the enemies just sheathe and walk away. Sometimes using the Surrender button works (Submit does not have this? Or does it?) But most of the time, it just results in sheathing the weapons. Now, what are people doing when it comes to the Quest options in DA? I heard set all Defeat to max, and turn the others off, but idk how to set the MCM menu Also, randomly i'll get a CTD when entering the Bleedout state in DA. Do I even need DA installed? Won't Defeats knockdown work fine? Any word on when Defeat will be updated? Is Submit or Defeat the better option? Also, kind of an odd one. Necroanims, after using a spell on a dead person, after the animation, i'll fall into a bleedout state i can't recover from. And, back to DA or Defeat (idk the cause) i'll get saved by someone after a scene, only to be in a "passed out" stance on the ground. and unable to move, unless i can break it, by entering a door or some other thing to "snap out" of it, but this then only puts me on the other side, still stuck in the same position. And lastly, in all of these instructions and install tutorials, it says to do a "clean install", does this still apply if i'm creating new characters for the purposes of testing these mods? Thanks in advance, i know i asked a lot of questions here, but i'm really excited to see what you guys can say, that may point me in the right direction to fix these issues

I think there's a conflict in the settings, so I was hoping I could pick someone's brain for the best options. Everything works perfectly, but it's get a little bit wonky after I get assaulted- the Death Alternative kicks in rather than my character going into trauma. It's not really a big deal; it's more than I really want to see those devious capture things get into play, and have to try to escape from my tormentors- for a little bit of kinky adventuring

It does have a surrendering button with both creature options to turn on and off butten used by default is "np7" is used by submit for surrendering the same button is used by the player to rape npcs ""Also, randomly i'll get a CTD when entering the Bleedout state in DA."" I have never had this problem with DA. it have drop me thrue the floor once in the temple in whiterun but never a CTD. perhaps another mod you have interfer with DA or with bleedout ? in my loadorder I keep DAMOYL as the lowest ESM I can... no use if it could help with your problem ? Necro work if going thrue defeat by pressing "g" I think one it and have it enable in MCM. Any other way causes death for my char as well not sure why but that have ben the case always even in 1.59.c ""Any word on when Defeat will be updated?"" when it is ready... but that is enough that it is being worked on to get it compatible alteast for me

However I don't get the controller menu that gives me the option to change animation stages. Sexlab default key for changing animations stages for Player is "Spacebar". If you want to change animations, it's "O". This key works for Defeat too. (I think that "K" key is default key in Defeat to get box options menu) If you want to change/swap animations for NPCs, you have to be close to them so that you can see the cursor. Then press SL's default key (don't know which one it is since I always change it). Check it in SL MCM menu. Once you press it, you'll get the box and press "Player's control". Then you can swap between animations.

You can disable/change robbing event by setting it to "0" or other value in "Post-assault" Defeat MCM menu, or you can try to "play" with settings about the amount of his gold and valuables (above a MCM configurable gold value) and a quest to track your robber down starts. Since I haven't had such a problems at all, let me ask do you have SL "Solutions" mod? It might be that two of them are in conflict.

I'll uninstall the current version soon to grab the update, but need to know one thing: I notice that whenever a follower starts getting raped by an enemy and the rape is interrupted due to an attack on the rapist, thereafter that character has her aggression set to -2, and the range is between -2 to 1. Normally a NPC is supposed to have an aggression range between 0 and 3 (if I use setav aggression 1 to correct this, it becomes -1, if I use setav aggression 3, it becomes 1). So does this break anything and what can I do to bring it back to the normal range?

The best advice I can give is try an reset DEFEAT an option to clean DEFEAT in the MCM menu. it would seem the -1 value is caused by a set value that is substractiing from the player value or try giving it time . if the reset does not work only one option left go to a previous save

The previous version didn't cause me any bug (i also use death alternative and some combat mods like duel) DUEL COMBAT REALISM changes everything about STAMINA , stamina reg everything you do mostly will hurt your stamia magic in some way that sayed I don,t think DEFEAT is the problem . However some mods when combined with other mods that handle the same thing can encrease or make certain out comes even stronger

Crate123 Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 Alright got it to work at last but I sometimes get a weird thing happening where after the assault(s) my character just sits there on the ground, literally forever and doesnt get up.

The left for dead option works perfectly it's just robbery that hangs up. @Damicles If you mean after an attack you sit motionless and the goons just stand there staring at you, then it may be tha same problem i'm having. To test it, when it happens again try saving game (sometimes it crashes when I ckick save) and reload. when I do that the attacker then robs me and the Robbery quest starts.

Any help? If you are sure you tweaked all the settings right, posting Log file might help to see where Defeat stuck.
Midiano Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 The other day everything was loading fine and Defeat was installing fine via MCM menu. I then found that SL was updated and naturally installed the newer version - i was starting a new game anyway. While I was going through my mods in MCM I went into Defeat and received a message that it's installing and to wait - notification never displayed. I then uninstalled Defeat, created a new game, saved, reinstalled Defeat and now it's not even showing up in MCM - I've waited but no show. Anyone else having the same issue or have seen this? Thanks I came here for the same issue, when starting new games after updating to 1.60, and even with mcm kicker, the menu never shows up I've reinstalled defeat several times, tried putting it different places in my load order.. nothing :/
MikeyD28 Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 So I was trying out different options/experiences and I either ran into a bug or it's something that's not possible with the mod, or I did something wrong. I walked into the Whiterun Guard Barracks with a follower. I attack one of the guards and immediately surrender with the options set for the follower to surrender, too. Nothing happens. They just sheathe their weapons and go about their business. So I reload and leave the follower outside and attack and surrender on my own. The same result. Defeat didn't activate or whatever you want to call it. I will point out that I haven't really had any trouble since the new update. I believe this is the first real instance I've had and I can put the character into other situations off the same save and it works fine. I've also successfully engaged guards outside the towns so I don't think it's a guard thing either. So. Any suggestions? Is this a bug? Granted, I haven't tried in other town barracks.

You have to give priority to Defeat in the DA MCM menu and set the chance for DA Events to happen in the Defeat menu. I'm running defeat and SL 1.60 and I only have problems with creatures atm. When they defeat me I get up again while they are just standing there, but if I hit them the fight is resumed and the rape triggers if I'm defeated a second time.
