Marriage

Well I found a really annoying bug. So just finished the Companions quest line and decided to Marry Aela the Huntress. So go to the temple and on the day of the wedding, Lydia's corpse suddenly warps into existence in the temple of Mara. This is causing all the NPCs including Aela to freak out. So for some reason I guess Lydia's corpse is considered a follower even though she got killed some 30 hours of gameplay ago. And now everybody in the church is pissed at me and so is Aela. I have a poorly positioned save file so will have to muck around with ways to fix this somehow.

The game randomly picks your "friends" or people you have helped to appear at your wedding. I think it will have like 10 to 14 people there max. If her body was still lying around just get a scroll or raise dead and kill her yourself. She will turn in to a pile of ash. You could also just loot everything off her. I think after her body contains no items for xx hours it will go away. Or, just disable her in the console.

As far as I have experienced the follower tag drops once a companion is killed but because you friend'd her the game randomly ported her to attend your ceremony. Talk about dedication though, she must have not wanted to back out on her rsvp. LOL

On the other hand imagine the dialog that would've occurred.

"You brought a corpse to our wedding? What the hell is wrong with you!?"

"Can I help it if our love is so strong that even the dead wish to celebrate it?"

"I saw you drag it in!"

"It needed a little help sitting down, that's all."

"You're revolting!"

"At least I'm not a Necromancer."

"That's going to be the basis of our marriage!? 'At least I'm not a Necromancer'? Good BYE!"

HAHA!

one thing though, you skipped..

"I can't believe you invited her!"

"I sort of had to, honey. It's my fault she ended up this way..."

Aww.. D: There will be polygamy mod, for that i'm sure.

----

The next thing lesser mundane women want is became thane or archmage, or "whatever your hero title's" wives and make produce a lot of little dragonborns.

----off topic-----

Have you guys seen ashal's 'brazzers' add below? threesome is very compelling, no?

Marry the right hand and cheat with the left.

I don't get the lover's comfort bonus' date=' just well rested.

I married Shahvee, the argonian, so that I can mod in a maid outfit for her at the first opportunity, and finally live the dream of having an argonian maid-wife. Or for maximum roleplaying in my roleplaying game, we can roleplay that the housecarle is my wife, I'm Crassius Colto and Shahvee is Lifts-Her-Tail...

You have to follow your bride to her (your) 1st home, sleep in there (*quest popup here normaly)and then you can move and get that bonus from sleeping in any owned house.

Monogamy, I think. There's already a divorce mod in the works, I believe. I don't suppose a polygamy one will be far behind.

Yeah, you can let a male character marry another male if they're single.

Bethesda made same-gender marriage possible.:P

I'm not even remotely into Yuri/lezzie stuff (if anyone on here is a girl who likes girls' date=' then rock on) - but I don't feel like marrying a dude :((

I want someone to jam out, with our clams out :x

i'm hoping for girl and girl marriage too... ain't into blokes, so i heard it is possible, but yet to get it yet :D

Women can marry other women, yeah. You need to find a character who's available, and for most of them you'll need to do a quest as well. After that you just need to talk to them while wearing the amulet, no different from a man/woman marriage.

I married Ysolda, since I just happened to stumble upon a Mammoth Tusk in a Forsworn camp (her quest makes her one of the harder choices unless you find one.) but frankly I wish I hadn't bothered, at least not til mods come out.

She is effectively a normal NPC with a sweet voce that gives me gold from her hard days work. Nce, but not exactly what I think of when I think 'love'. They made it a very shallow thing, but I suppose there is a lot of room for modders to work.

I'll probobly marry one of the followers that can be wed next time. Even if there isn't a huge ammount of romance, fighting beside your partner at least feels more fulfilling than stopping into the city they live in once a month.

'Yo, honey, haven't seen you in a year - say, do you have my cut of your wages? Thanks, later, got dragons the hunt. Oh, hey Jold, didn;t see you there hiding under the sheets...'

There is a tense silence...

'FUS... ROH... DAH...!'

ROFL......wait....Crap!!!! It is ALREADY happening to me :(

I married Mjoll the Lioness (sexy voice, painted face, blood thirsty wench with a go fetch my sword quest....how could I resist!!!) who was hanging around in Riften with a dude named Aerin. No problem I think as he is quite the wimpy dude and me being the dragon born and all.

So we marry and move to my large house in Solitude. All is well until one day I come home and that SOB Aerin is there!!!! It is freaking 2am in the dang morning!!!! So I travel to Riften the next day intending to see if this was just a one time game glitch. NOOO, the sucker leaves his house and beelines straight for Solitude to "hook up" again. So follow him to the house and I kill his butt...now Mjoll just whines and moans about him being dead all the damn time......drives me so crazy I can't go back anymore :(

True story!

I married Lydia. Best looking girl in the game imo.

^I disagree, but I certainly think that it's better to marry a companion than have a stay at home wife. Makes for a much better bond.

The Dibella temple girls are kinda hot, although one of them stays in the temple...even after you marry them.

Senna is a little vixen, but useless otherwise.

The blond house carl from your yarl title in Solitude is pretty cute, and a good board & sword fighter.

Wish I could find a good caster/healer that wasn't an ugly elf.

My first choice to wed? Karliah

I wanted to make little Nightingale babies with her.... too bad she isn't an option

Second was Carlotta Valentia

Just for the RP value of having a kid... But her marriage option is broken...

Oh, so that loser does move in when Mjoll does. Figured it was a glitch, since I haven't seen him anymore in Whiterun. I have Lydia living with me too, though, so I dunno if it only happens if there's a vacancy in your guest room or what. If that little bastard comes back I'm going to disable him, though.(As in the console command, so he's not "dead" and Mjoll won't bitch about it)

He doesn't "move in" per say as he still has his house in Riften but he does "visit" at quite inappropriate hours (probably due to me and Mjoll being all the way across the map in Solitude). I did try to disable him (I think anyway) but if I remember right I had trouble disabling an npc who was living......can't remember as it was quite some time ago :)

Could some console wizard please help me? In all of Skyrim I couldn't find one woman who I wanted to marry until one day I stumbled across the most enchanting scaled creature I had ever seen on the docks by Solitude. Unfortunately I went to the marriage wiki to find out if I could marry her and shes not on the list. So I tried both "addfac 19809 1" and "setrelationshiprank player 4" and she still won't open up a dialog box with me so I can marry her even when I have the amulet equipped. Is there any way I can force her to talk to me so I can tell her how I feel about her?

You should be able to, if you use the "marry and companion free" mod from Nexus. It gives you nifty little bat files to execute that have yet to leave someone unmarriable, aside from things like horses and kids. (It was a vampire kid. 200 years old, at least. :P )
