I did consider making a subject origin like that at one point, but I realized that's pretty much already exists with the Imperial Thiefdom origin in Vanilla for Overlord DLC. It's not 100% off the table, but I'd probably only add an origin like that if I could make it unique enough from the Thiefdom origin.

Again though, we'll have to see

After taking some time to look around the modding community on here, I'd like to take a quick moment to thank both @shirologand @crisisAfor their contributions and recommendations when it comes to MLD! @shirolog has done a great job keeping my mod alive for some time with their updated version which honestly really surprised me but also flattered me, so thanks! @crisisA also made an interesting mod a while back that was intended to work with MLD, and I'd like to thank them for the mention on their mod page! Spaceguest991 Posted November 25, 2024 Posted November 25, 2024 (edited) I think I'm running into a trouble where in Subject Terms Negotiations, I can't change subject type to any of the ones from this mod, it's only giving me the normal unmodded subject types like tributary. And For some reason my empire capital seems to be starting without blockers on it. Planetary Diversity and this mod also don't seem to be getting along in my game because it looks like having both will result in PD type planets without any planet features at least with empires starting worlds that use PD planet type. Artopia Posted November 26, 2024 Posted November 26, 2024 (edited) Some advice: If you're starting with Gigastructures and pick the EHOF origin, it bugs out and the homeworld doesn't spawn any resource deposits. Wish I knew what caused it so I can fix it, but I can't seem to figure out why this happens, other than *maybe* the mod interferes with the EHOF event order, but I'm not sure. r0550gi4 Posted November 26, 2024 Posted November 26, 2024 For some reason i can't get this mod to load at all, after clicking play it just gets stuck sitting at 100% on load screen before main menu. I've tried every combination of other mods on and off imaginable, just this, LV and this, full mod order, vassals expanded on/off, compatibility patches, no patches, even tried the old 1.1 version and that even loaded. The only one that fails, and fails every time is any load order that has the base 1.2 MLD mod activated. Is there some required mod that's not listed on the page or something? Never had this issue with any mod before.

Edit3: I've kinda managed to get it to work but I have no idea what was causing it really, I was able to recreate it again without Califire's mod so it seems something else in my load order might be causing it. I was semi convinced that Sex crazed/dirty mind or other trait combination was causing it. Since i've removed Cali's mod my empire listing won't save so my stellaris is probably cursed. I can confirm either you're not cursed or we both are. I had the same issue when using the Obedient breeders civic and the Sex Crazed trait at the same time. Removing either fixed the issue, which is real strange. Load order seemed to change nothing too. A point to note is that Sex Crazed comes from Base LV too. Edit 2. Theres a mod called "You're Demoted (Demotion Time Reducer)" on the workshop, which adds a -99% demotion time Edict which is a decent stop gap. Edit 3. Yeah that's not fixing it. Something is seriously broken, it keeps shuffling unemployed and ruler pops seemingly at random. Edited November 29, 2024 by Djinman
Raunhaar Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 (edited) Well this seems neat but... while I can get it to load and at least a cursory examination of empire creation implies it plays at least okay with the rest of my modlist it absolutely refuses to have anything to do with my custom empires... and that'd be A LOT of work to redo. Not that I could. Even saving an empire and going back to the list from complete scratch ? CTD. As long as that list exists it crashes. It's also managed to make the Primitive species category from Calcifire's selectable while still making them an invalid choice. Somehow. Whether it's being loaded or not. Or maybe I just didn't notice that before but either way, spoooooooky. Fake Edit : Having done the 'readd every mod one by one' thing I'm pretty sure I've found the culprit; it's UI Overhaul Dynamic. Having it active will cause a crash, even if it's the only mod other than this one running, when you hit New Game with an existing user empires file. Real Edit : Yeah it's UI Dynamic. Without it works fine with PD, EACC(Bug Branch, but I assume regular too) and Calcifires, Primitive Portraits excepted, AFAICT from a short testing phase, it's just, y'know, absolutely miserable to play Stellaris without UIOD Realer Edit : I also noticed the .dds files don't open in dds viewer and then it crashes, though the assets seem to open fine in-game. Dunno if that's relevant. Realest Edit : Yeah cancel that mostly working fine; it's extremely borked. So borked that now Stellaris will crash on New Game even after the mod has been removed. Final Edit : And it turns out that the UIOD issue was because I'd missed a Stellaris update so disregard all that. Definitely has issues with homeworld planet generation though. It's not LV, homeworlds generate properly if this mod is inactive. The ability to propose the mods preset subject types goes away over time ? I started up a game with vassal empires to test, at the start they can be made Lupanarius, then a few decades in when I decided to just cheat myself the genetics trad to allow it to actually transfer pops - it might not be the worst idea to allow that before bio ascenscion for livestock keeping hiveminds - I discovered they weren't eligible for any of the presets anymore. Played around a bit with the console, discovered that MY empire can become a Lupanarius, contacted some other empires who - after an application of trust through the console - were willing to become the mods subject types, subjugated a megacorp, other empires could still become the other variants but not Lupanarius which I am given to understand is intended behaviour, so it's not like it's just straight up nonworking. (Discovered in the meantime that whatever happened to Calcifires also broke it selecting the proper pictures for Fallen Empire species. Whatever, might have been me poking around in there and moving portrait classes around. I've traced this to elsewhere) Tried to grab the Lupanarius Preserver ascension perk and... no dice. Apparently I'm not the overlord of a Lupanarius empire, despite being the overlord of a Lupanarius empire. Weird. At which point I had an epiphany, hit 'research_all' and wouldn't you know it the option to subjugate as one of the presets went away leaving me with the regular Overlord options, tributary and vassal. Which is doubly strange because the tech gap should be so wide that I subjugate as Protectorates. So there's something screwy going on there. Edited December 1, 2024 by Raunhaar

I thought I traced it to the NSC Explorer ship event, since right after I closed that window it fired off 2 dialog boxes saying something like "(subject empire) has converted to a under the (my empire)" I did not leave out a word, it's like the subject type doesn't exist. When I go to renegotiate the subjugation agreement, I have no options in the drop down where you can normally switch the type and the boxes that tell you the effects on the subject and the effects on the overlord are blank. I disabled the explorer event and it seemed to work, until the next April rolled around and they were converted to the nonexistent subject type again.
Hugster Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 I found a bug in the new lupnaris casusbeli. When you win the war with it not only the other empire get turned into a lupnaris subject, but your own empire reverts back to level 1 and your contract changes to what I assume are the defaults.
BadDirtBoi1272 Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 (edited) As far as I have seen (comparably not that much) there is no reliable way to vassalize an AI empire as a Lupinarius specialist. Alongside the other types (domain, serviant, etc.) the option does not appear on the term negotiation UI. I don't know if this is due to some conflict or dependency issue, but I have not been able to see the options for the vassal types. The only time I managed to acquire a Lupinarius vassal (as in manually selected the type) was with the excavation site that ends with the option to create a vassal hive mind (this did not qualify as a vassal for the ascension perk, strangely). I am still halfheartedly looking for other ways but have been unsuccessful thus far. Edited December 3, 2024 by BadDirtBoi1272

The buildings it allows *don't exist* for non-corporate, and it's next to useless because of that. Is that intended, or is there supposed to be options for non-corporate as well? Edit: I just checked, and the civic isn't even available *for* corporate empires! It supposedly allows 'unique Hypnotic Branch Office buildings on allied planets as long as a Commercial Pact has been established.' But normal empires don't make Branch Office buildings, the code for the buildings themselves requires that 'owner_type = corporate', and a Corporate empire can't even take the civic because of the following code: potential = { ethics = { NOT = { value = ethic_gestalt_consciousness } } authority = { NOT = { value = auth_corporate } } So what is even going on with this civic? I can get the mod to load by using Proton + Windows version of Stellaris, so I do believe this is something Linux specific.
