Ghost Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 Hey everyone. Actually I'm a hardcore metal/rock fan, but I don't know, dubstep has it done to me. Now I'm currently searching Dubstep songs like But without the Violin Yes of course, Lindsey is quiet impossible. I really don't know where or how to search something like this dubstep mix or harder ones . So I hope some of you can help me there Lg Ghost
Guest Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 Your best bet is to search around for Liquid Dubstep, as that would be closer in style to Lindsey's work. It's more melody based and doesn't rely on the hyper-aggressiveness or the "WUB WUB WUB WUB" that people stereotypically think dubstep is all about. While it didn't happen with dubstep for me, I was the same in that I was a hardcore metal fan who got sucked into electronic music as well.

Nahh It had to be a bid harder, more bass or something like that. But the most dubstep songs I saw are actually not so good. Too much singing or just to quiet. I'm familiar with louder music.
Guest Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 Ah, ok. Sounds like you were already running into the liquid stuff. For more darker stuff I'd recommend giving Noisia's dubstep tracks a try. I'm not a fan of their dubstep work, so I can't think of too many dubstep tracks off the top of my head, but here's a couple to give you an idea. And I guess to address the inevitable, there is Skrillex if you're into his stuff. *hides in bunker*
Ghost Posted July 24, 2013 Author Posted July 24, 2013 Dubstep? How about: jaja claptrap.... that stupid robot But yes something like that Ah, ok. Yes I know, I have a bad taste.
HyperonicX Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 *enters topic* Uh huh... *leaves without saying anything more*
Croi Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 Majesticdubstep and ukf dubstep on youtube are good places to start. if you are looking for something really heavy .........
Thulas Posted July 25, 2013 Posted July 25, 2013 Hey, see what I found: The extended (aká original) version of the borderlands-tailer song. It's called "doomsday", but I somehow understand why they only used the one part in the trailer.
testsubject013 Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 over 21 hours of dubstep you might find something you like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8rGiKv1xkE0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=iv&v=ThRATvj3LK0&src_vid=8rGiKv1xkE0&annotation_id=annotation_2051542757 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-rbDpFVetjQ
Commander Drag Queen Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 Weird how electronic music attracts metal heads (like I'm one to talk ). Personally, I'm more of a DnB or electronica akin to Daft Punk fan, but some dubstep is good. One that I found kinda sounds like a space opera. This is actually an extended version, which I felt the original was a bit too short, but it's the difference of two minutes.
sen4mi Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 I am not sure which features you found appealing, but.... maybe? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDYIdBZUl2Y&list=RD02uZnpikoHNWw
Galacticat42 Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Klaypex is pretty good for Dubstep, but they sometimes mix in other elements like Electro House. They are VERY melodic (even the straight dubstep songs). The best album of theirs I found was 'Loose Dirt'. They even remake other songs into dubstep/Electro House. Song picks up at 47 seconds: And of course the vid that made me aware of them.
Cyril Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 I'm not sure if this qualifies, but it does seem to have various wubs.
Galacticat42 Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 @Isaemiond That's more Alternative Pop than dubstep. It may have the 'wub' sound, and that may have made dubstep popular, but 'wub' doesn't define dubstep. For example, Skrillex isn't dubstep even though it has 'wub wub' every few seconds.
Guest Mogie56 Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Kind of late to the party here, (just saw this thread) but if your still looking.Chillstep Dubstep soft style ToMindfuck Brutal Brain Damage Drops It's all in what you prefer, but there is a full range. some not so soft and some not so brutal.add or subtrack from DubStep "drops""chillstep""Brutal""Mindfuck""Filthy""Mind Blowing""Brain Damage" in your search term for a fuller range.
AKM Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 I recommend expanding your research into Ms. Stirling's music. I was introduced to her music last night and have found most of what I've heard quite good. Shadows is my particular favorite so far.
