This time they are trying to force internet filters down the UK populaces neck under the guise of "for the children", its bollocks - they just want a way to start filtering internet content for anything they disagree with. This will filter out all "adult content" which would include this site, most likely reddit, skyrim nexus... and depending on how stupid the UK government movie and TV streaming websites (games of thrones? Lots of nudity in that? Yes? FILTER!) The reaction by the dailyfail (daily mail) has been to congratulate themselves on being bunch of cunting (that's a word) hypocrites (just look at the right hand bar, its full of celebs with nowt much on). On reddit the reaction has been one of "SCRAMBLE SCRAMBLE!" to try and stop this, to that end they have created this: http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/51746 which is in opposition to the bunch of lazy fuck parents who can't be arsed to learn how to use net nanny. If you're from the UK, please sign it, if you know people from the uk bug them to sign it, if you have twitter or facebook post a link to get the word out. Cheers.

Then you can tell your internet provider to remove the filter. or did they make it differently ?? I think it was gonna work the same for television, you can view adult content till you tell your provider you want those extra adult channels or something like that.

We shouldn't have to ask to want it gone. There are already perfectly usable methods for protecting kids online. Most ISPs come with parental controls in their options and you can get Net Nanny and similar programs at any big computer store. This has nothing to do with protecting children. I don't trust any of the main parties and most of the fringe ones either, once a filter is in place it can be made mandatory at any point, and at that point any website can be filtered which the party of the day doesn't like.

Same thing happened with video games; parents leave their kids playing GTA for 10 hours straight while they go out drinking and wonder why their kid has started swearing. And we all know how that turned out. The government has to have an ulterior motive, surely they can't just be realising now that there's porn on the internet? Personally, I think that this is a veiled stab at piracy, among other things. They're restricting the use of peer-to-peer networking because that's how people share their porn but that's clearly just an excuse to stop torrent usage in general. Pretty much like saying that everyone in a country should be locked up because one person from said country is a murderer. The internet should definetly have its own, global set of laws and a seperate body of people who make and enforce these laws, people who actually know what the internet is, not fucking posh twats like David Cameron?

sen4mi Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 in my opinion, this issue goes much deeper than even political control, and the people trying to institute these bans are cutting their own legs out from underneath themselves (or maybe being manipulated into doing so). All of which would not bother me so much, except that way too many people have access to weapons of mass destruction (and it's not just nuclear weapons). This might get rough. I highly recommend everyone hold onto their hats.

The same goverment that is blocking on an European level every attempt to regulate the banks or to rise a Financial transaction tax that would finally stop this awful dealings wich caused the financal crises at the first place is now applying a porn filter.... As we all know exposing kids to porn is much more hamful then free roaming banks. Hurray!! It shows again if you want a law which is in your intreset you only need a financially powerful lobby and/or a good connected one...long live Democracy!! Can't they think for them self why do they all have to follow each other like the monkey see monkey do effect. looks like the future of internet will be to hide behind proxies. Or other tools to fully mask your location, but this will be extremely difficult with countries all using there own types of prism. Maybe the time for 3rd World War is not far off now, then we use that to fully wipe out all governments form this planet. Then we can finally start over. no laws no tax etc..

Now I agree soda is not necessarily healthy, but if someone wants to drink them by the gallon, then let them do so.

I don't know, because most of the places targeted were fast food restaurants, that serve supersized drinks like Soda. Since I never buy supersized drinks, I don't know if the law passed or not.
