Golden_Wolf Posted July 9, 2022 Posted July 9, 2022 Not sure where to put this so I am going to try here. Recently I tried moding Skyrim SE with Scent of Sex, SexLab Werewolves Redux, SexLab Dragons, Horny Creatures of Skyrim and any mods in between I am having some troubles with them. For example dragons, creatures and werewolves are format 43 even though I downloaded special edition of mods. And also I am not sure if the mods are loaded in game since the Skyrim mods folder doesn't show any mods. Regarding mod formation I don't know what to do creation kit wont detect them whatever I try and I am compleatly lost.

What mods folder? Which mod manager are you using? Are you familiar with the install process of Skyrim mods? 1 hour ago, Golden_Wolf said: Regarding mod formation I don't know what to do creation kit wont detect them whatever I try and I am compleatly lost. What do you want to do with Creation Kit? If as you say you're completely lost you should need it or attempt to use it blind. I think you need to start by explaining how are you installing your mods (which mod manager you use) or things like where do you have your game and other relevant programs installed.
Fiend71 Posted July 9, 2022 Posted July 9, 2022 There is indeed a mods folder. Mine's empty as well. Your mods will be in the data folder.

Is that the one for the in game mods menu? Noted. Proof enough I've never use it, that folder doesn't exist in my install. I can't see a world where using that (or the steam workshop if that's still a thing) ends well for me.

Ok so format 43 is allright i shouldn't worry about them. . in game mod folder is empty but Mod organizer 2 says that my selected mods are active. Regarding moding I created a copy of Skyrim se in my steam common folder i watched turtorials on how to set it up but they are all outdated since bathesta doesn't support creation kit for Skyrim. My original plan was to update mods format to 44. Now a new question I tried playing moded (the skse64 launched without a problem) but I think my mods aren't working (both format 43 and 44) maybe because I don't understand how mods work (what are there controls), if anyone want a mod list that I have (its around 20 mods) I can share the names because if format 43 doesn't hinder mods from operating normaly (when I downloaded them thy said that they are for special edition) then there shouldn't be any reason why the mods don't work. Also should I lunch the skse64.exe, Skyrim SE or Skyrim SE Launcher (the tutorials said the skse64.exe but at this point I don't know if I did anything correctly).

That folder is for a different system that has nothing to do with MO2 and you shouldn't need to use it TBH, at least not until you figure out the basics. 2 hours ago, Golden_Wolf said: Regarding moding I created a copy of Skyrim se in my steam common folder i watched turtorials on how to set it up but they are all outdated since bathesta doesn't support creation kit for Skyrim. (MO2 already keeps your base game unmodified). And yes, you shouldn't need to use CK to update your mods to form 44. Seriously that's a step you don't need, at least not now (no offense but it seems like you barely know what you're doing). 2 hours ago, Golden_Wolf said: Now a new question I tried playing moded (the skse64 launched without a problem) but I think my mods aren't working (both format 43 and 44) maybe because I don't understand how mods work (what are there controls), if anyone want a mod list that I have (its around 20 mods) I can share the names because if format 43 doesn't hinder mods from operating normaly (when I downloaded them thy said that they are for special edition) then there shouldn't be any reason why the mods don't work. You need to launch the game using the SKSE executable that was added to MO2. If you start the game using any of the default executables, or even the SKSE executable, outside of MO2 all the mods you have in MO2 won't be in the game. That's the whole point of using MO2. You install the stuff with MO2, you launch the game through MO2 and you get a modded game. You don't use MO2 and you have an unmodified game. I don't know which tutorials you've been following, but this is the most fundamental and core feature of MO2 and if you didn't knew about it I'd recommend you to look for better tutorials. I wrote a guide to get SL and all its requirements in a new SE game using MO2, you can look at it for some ideas and instructions, but any guide I've seen or read about MO2 is very adamant about how to start the game when you're using MO2.

Ok so use the skse exe No offense was taken since you were right. I didn't know that since the only thing that I played moded were Terraria and Minecraft so I didn't know will the system be similar to Minecraft (you can launch a moded world in vanila and loose everything) or in Terraria (everything is seperet). Regarding moding I am new to playing moded Skyrim and I have around few days worth of expirience (if we took into the account the time wasted trying to make creation kit see mods) so I am rely confused on what to do. The mods are downloaded and set as active. Regarding moded gameplay I tryed few things to see if the horrny creaturse of skyrim or scent of sex mods are active but its like they aren't there (I didn't find the guide on how the mods work and when I did find something on how to use them I didn't understand the mechanic weather I need to find the spells (I need them for a specific mod in the list not sure which one is it since I am writing this in 1.30 morning since I can't sleep)). But the point is I don't know anything about mods and even if they are correctly working I don't what are their controls and how to use them in game. Sorry for such a long discussion, now I see that I was focusing on a completely wrong thing like I usually do and I will read the guide once I weak up.
Just Don't Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 1st step would be verifying the mods are installed and enabled in MO2. For this you checkmark the mods listed in the left side of MO. If you're installing things for the first time you should sort your loadorder. MO has a built-in sorting function, but you could install LOOT as standalone and use it through MO as other programs. The Sort button is at the top of the right side: Then you launch the game using the SKSE executable in MO2. This means selecting SKSE in the list and pressing the RUN button. If you did everything correctly (using the SKSE exe to launch the game, installed and enabled all the mods you want to use and its requirements, sorting the loadorder, etc.) you should reach the main menu and from there you can start a new game or load a save. How to use each mod comes down to what the mod is supposed to do and its features. I don't think you'll be able to find dedicated guides explaining things in detail for every mod. All you can do is check the mod description and hope the author does a good job communicating the mod features and working. The rest is trying things out and deciding if that's what you want or not. There are guides for nearly every major tool or known mod you find (example how to setup and use MO2 and FNIS, Bodyslide, features of SkyUI and stuff like that).

Allright i did check the mods and tied the sort mechanic build in MO2 and pressed sort but at the end of sorting this poped up I have skse in my skyrim folder and it is in a MO2 and it also said that it found 384 ITM record(s), 92 deleted reference(s) and 3 deleted navmesh(es) (this was the update master file but it did show up for others so do I let it be or clean them like it says?) The main menu poped up before sorting so I think that there shouldnt be any problem after using a sort option in MO2 Now I will have to try and figure out on how to use skyrim ui and finis especilay finis because it said that I need to run GenerateFNISforUsers but I have no idea do I just need to run it or is there something else I need to do (fnis is already instaled in MO2, I know that this is easily found on google but I don't want to fall into another rabbit hole just for it not to work.) For now I will try and learn about finis and skyrim ui as for the ITM and cleaning I am not tuching that unless I have to.
Just Don't Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 Don't bother with ITMs or cleaning plugins, maybe later if you feel adventurous you can learn about that and see if you're willing to do that. FNIS is one of these mods that come with a program and you have to run it before going into the game, otherwise you're not using it for it's intended purpose. There is an entire step in the guide I wrote about using FNIS. As I said, if you search in google or youtube you'll find plenty of videos showing how to use MO and FNIS and similar programs. Try it.

Sorry for asking again but do I just need to run finis or do I need to click anything else since in guide it said that I need to run it and (not sure bc I bearly have 3 braincells) consistance check but for me it is grayed out (for context FNIS is installed in a completly new driver so not sure do I need to move it or it can stay there?) Also do I need to check any boxes in FNIS

Consistency check isn't something you must do, it's there to get additional info (that most users misinterpret anyways). FNIS shouldn't be in a new driver. It should be installed in MO, as any other mod you intend to use.

Nevermind I had Finis in both drives but in the guide it says that in GenerateFNIS_for_Usersfolder is Finis.exe but there is non only 3 other folders that are empty (language, templates and temporary log) but funny enoug finis is in MO2 and the path to it is the exact same as in the guide. Also when I created I new mod from overwrite folder do I put the mod below FINS directly or do put it under the creature/spell pack from FNIS?

Thanks for helping me this far but since you have much more experience than me I hope you don't mind answering some more of my stupid questions. So here is the question l don't know why the creatures mod don't work (cant have sex with them) even though I have untamed, sexlab pheromones, scent of sex, sexlab werewolves, sexlab dragons, arousedcreatures (patch included), Horny Creatures of Skyrim, match maker and wilding I can't seem to get those creatures to fuck my character. In description wilding mod it is supposed to be that no animals will atack you unless you have your wepon/magic risen and ocesonaly have sex with the player but that doesn't hapend insted thecreatures attack me like there was no mod also not sure if there is a mod configuration in game wile playing to enable those mods or am I just really dumb.
Just Don't Posted July 11, 2022 Posted July 11, 2022 I've never used any of the creature mods. That's why I link to the MNC guide at the end of my guide. It should cover most things related to creatures and has specific settings required for that. And that's a better source of info and advice than my non-existent knowledge about such mods.

Sorry for bothering again but it seams that MO2 doesn't load mods at all. I folowd the link provided in guide to instal creature mods but after doing everything in the guide the skse crashes after beaing launched once and then beaing closed or after turning the mods on in skse it crashes and when trying to launch again it will crash again.
Just Don't Posted July 12, 2022 Posted July 12, 2022 I can't immediately know what's going on with your setup after using other mods. But you should be able to spot the issue if you check the later parts of the guide about troubleshooting and look at what you've been doing with your mods. My quick guess is one of the mods you installed has an incompatible dll (MO gives a notification), you're missing a requirement for any of the mods you installed (MO gives a notification) or your loadorder is a mess (you should know by now to sort your loadorder whenever you add anything to it).
travelmedic Posted July 12, 2022 Posted July 12, 2022 I don't know what guides you were using before, so let me recommend some others to you: 1 - the pinned tutorials here on LL, including the tutorial by @Just Don't 2 - The STEP Guide 3 - Youtube videos by Gopher (a little older but still very informative) and Gamer Poets Don't even think of fooling with the Creation Kit until you've mastered the basics of getting your mods installed correctly

Hello once again. Sorry to bother you again but I was finaly able to get to mod section of your guide and when I downloaded All in one mod it says it is marked as deleted and that I need to check for an update or remove nexus mod. Now I'm curious if I need to do that or do I just let it be?
