Skyrim SE Guide?

  1. 1. Would you be interested in a bottom to top guide on how to install Skyrim SE, plus a survival/realism/hardcore package, plus adult mod integration?

I want to get back into Skyrim, but I have yet to create a build I am 100% satisfied with.  Whether it is Bethesda releasing a new version, mod authors with dependent mods trying to keep up with new versions of mods, or just engine limitations, it always ends in me rage quitting for a while and eventually meandering back, chasing the proverbial dragon.  It always comes down to the fatigue late-process, where some stupid bit of code from one mod screws something up and I can never find what it is.

I am considering diving in once more and giving it a real go.  Thing is, I know it would go better with help and my drive would last a lot longer if I knew people were interested in what I was doing.  It sounds dumb as hell, but a little encouragement, a comment here and there, and people actually benefiting from the work would be a lot more motivating than doing it for myself.

So, if this is something I decide to do, would anyone be interested in reaping the benefits or helping out a little here and there?  The result, at least as of this stage of planning, would be a forum post or a google doc outlining everything (EVERYTHING) step by step from cleaning files to altering mods, checking compatibility to load order, plus every single adult themed mod I can jam into the equation (so that anyone not interested in whatever mod can delete it, rather than try to figure out how to add it).

Thoughts?

Thanks for the heads up!  These are really good resources!  They aren't quite what I'm looking for (not survival focused or LL content exhaustive), however, but will certainly help!  Much appreciated :)

Do they need to be? Once you have a stable game, installing a mod is installing a mod. Whether it is a sex mod, a survival mod or any other sort of mod is largely irrelevant.

In this case they do, if only because of the way the mods seem to interact.  Survival, realism, and difficulty as a synergy (synergy, I guess?) is kind of a difficult balance in and of itself and there are so many adult mods that like to throw off that balance.  Like, the whole experience is about carefully constructing an environment where survival is really frustratingly hard, but failure or success is something achieved in tiny steps (which is admittedly not interesting to a lot of people).  It's spending an in-game day gathering supplies, or hunting, or fishing, or crafting, just so down the line you can have the supplies needed to go on a raid.  Then you run into a sex assassin that is carrying a Daedric dagger, three potions of restore everything, and 7,000 gold.

Many adult mods don't assume the game they are modding will be trying to accurately represent hunger or wounds, because most users aren't masochists---lol, or at least not in the same way.  There are a lot of interactions that make the sane one think "why-tf am I trying to get both these modding experiences at once?  They are clearly incompatible."

(Also, just as a bonus maybe?  Why even play with such a serious playstyle like realism mixed with such a ridiculous one like adult mods?  IDK, dude, it's just interesting.  It feels like a dark world that isn't concerned with modern taboos: a real, brutal environment where realistically horrific shit happens because the foes are actually evil, not just assets in a game.  I enjoy fighting in that environment.  The stakes feel higher, the enemies feel (mostly) realer, and the frustration feels more varied.)

So I figure if I can get a largely balanced game, with all the little issues worked out, it might be a benefit to those who want to try it out.  Does that make more sense?  Either way, thanks for taking the time to interact!

You said the answer to why such a list/guide doesn't already exist.

YOU could change that, however.  Spearhead it, if you will.

Personally, I don't need help with having difficulty in the game...lol  Heck, I get annoyed if I get shot-down for sex.  That's me though.

My point is that it is a smaller group is all, but could indeed benefit from a guide or tutorial as far as "play nice together" mods.  I get you there.

Make it so...

People seem to have managed for 10 years or however long iNeeds and the like have been around.

True, but that's a pretty, uh, narrow interpretation of my point.

You get it, lol.  It's such a niche interest, but I was just hoping to connect with one or two people with a similar interest.  Just that and a bit of comradery would be enough to drill down and make it happen.  Thanks for the feedback.  Even just getting some sympathy that it's a weird (but legitimate) predicament helps.

Words well spoken I wonder how many would have such a thing if they only would read a mod description, requirement, and the conflicts. ?

Too true in so many circumstances.
