Also lots of games leave nude mods up on the steam workshop. It's CA doing it.

Really, there's a difference between paywalling mods that you made, getting paid for making mods, and getting a donation for making mods. No idea what he expected, but quitting two times in a row with shutting down own mod won't get one pretty far.

Steam, being free software, hosts quite literally hundrers out outright porn games without any issue. Which according to you, would be illegal.

He made the mod for free, and also it took him much time to make that mod, he found that others are getting paid to make mod after his pc were broken, and maybe he doesn't have enough money to buy a new pc, if I were him I would be very upset, I can understand him

and he also helped others to make mod, but he didn't get paid when others are getting paid, and I think if someone else in his position would feel very unbalanced just the same as him

That's fair enough, I'd be unhappy too.

However, as far as we know, he just left with no word whatsoever. We don't know if he comes back or not, but him taking down the mod (again) AND leaving the server completely doesn't bode well, to say the least.

In which case, it will be very upsetting that he didn't even say a word. If he just wrote a message "hey people, I've been spending heck of a lot of work on this mod, I'm doing this mostly alone, for free and I just can't afford to do so anymore, from now on I'll just be making this mod and my new unit cards mod for patreons" - or something along those line, I don't believe anyone would really begrudge him for that, apart from maybe a few usual haters. And yes, he got around to doing very nice uni cards as well, which he never finished. Hell, I'm sure quite a few of us would happily pay him for his work as he really did an amazing job; you can tell how much work went into the final effect and if you look at his mod on the table level, it becomes even more pronounced.

 

But no, no word whatsoever, no goodbye or "I'm taking a break" no nothing. And that's what causes this chaos, nobody knows what's really going on.

I mean, in the end it was a free mod. We didn't pay anything for it.
He doesn't owe us an explanation.

I just wish he at least said goodbye to the community.

Plus, I am sure many people, me included, would have not minded donating to him on patreon for the future updates for his mod.

Nevertheless, I wish him all the best, and after this second takedown it is very clear he really does not want to continue with modding and I respect his choices.

My only hope is now that someone else continues from his work.

He could have started a paypal.me or patreon. I think some would have donated for his mods.

I'm 95% sure they didn't leave for any reason related to mod payment. It was likely said in jest (reference to: https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/you-guys-are-getting-paid)
