but it is strange to see some supposed adolescent characters dressed in armor

You can change that with SSEDit very easy

I have no idea how it's done, but I'll do it, I'll learn how to do it.

It's not hard to explain. You open SSEDIt and uncheck every mod other then skyrim teens, (just left click when opening SSEDIt and unchecking everything with one click, check skyrim teens again.)

Then you scroll to the teen mod, click on non-player character. It's even easier with this mod since it only has this tab.

Then you just  click on, let's say Frodnar. To make our life even easier we write on the upper pannel which is named "Filter by name"

default outfit, in Frodnars Case it's the Stormcloak one. Click on that  and you can scroll over every vanilla outfit combo there is. For example FarmOutfit01. Choose that, save your changes and go back into the game to see if it has worked.

Did he die of heart attack?

No he died from blunt force trama when he fell out of the seat of the ride.  His name was Tyre Sampson if you want to search for info.

Thank you, thank you very much, it worked for me at first, now they still look stupid but at least they wear normal clothes haha.

Will this be made compatible with the Bruma Mod?

Also does anybody have a clue why the male teens look so old in my game? The girls look just fine...

I went through my mod list but there is no mod that specifically alters the appearance of male characters.

That's just how they look from the mod.

Someone spent all their time on getting the women right but the men got just pasted with the common nord faces.

Hmm, that's too bad... Maybe somebody makes a patch for this mod that turns all the male teens into femboys, there is an existing femboy mod after all.

The girls appear to be Botoxed, but there isn't really any male equivalent to Botox for Skyrim, so the boys are just vanilla.

You could always just run Skyfem on this mod.

In other news, I'm finding a significant oversight/shortfall in this mod.  It's obviously possible to work around it in various ways in game, but it would definitely be ideal to have the issue resolved internally in this mod.

Since this mod replaces adoptable children with, as far as Skyrim's engine is concerned, adults, they can't wear Hearthfire children's clothes.  But they still use the default Hearthfire adopted child gift script, which allows gifting the children's clothes but not any normal, adult-compatible clothes.  So without using another mod or the console to work around it, you can't give your adopted teens new or better outfits, which is especially troubling given that most would be adoptees are wearing beggars' rags.

I don't know exactly how the gift mechanic works, but I've spent some time looking into this, and it doesn't appear that there's any way to fix it with SSEEdit alone.  I was surprised to find that even adding the Hearthfire keywords to vanilla adult outfits failed to make them available as gifts.  Does anyone know enough scripting to patch the Hearthfire gift script to allow giving adopted teens items with the ArmorClothing keyword instead of the children's clothes?  There's no need to alter the other gift options—the limited weapons, food items, and even the dolls seem fine as-is—just the clothes.

It seems to me that Hearthfire adoptions are one of the main attractions to this mod—you can have heirs without bringing children into your debaucherous sex dungeon of a house—but without fixing the gift mechanic to be compatible with clothing they can actually wear, this feels half-finished.

Nah, I don't want all males to be dickgirls/futanari. I just want male teens with faces that don't look like they're in their mid-forties.

Then, unfortunately, you have to find someone willing to do face-sculpts that aren't for men in their mid-forties, and someone willing to do textures for males in the younger age range. Unfortunately I've only seen one person actually work on such appearance changes, and their motives for doing so are somewhat suspect.

Question, are all the teen-children still immortal? If so, will a mod removing that feature mess with this mod?

They work well with NFF ( Nethers Follower Framework ) and in that, you can select the levels of their life.  I really have not paid attention to them being mortal or not in just game play. I just know off my head no child / teen died in a dragon attack on Riverwood.

ED: I had to go look now. They are all marked essential.

I use this one

Allows the player to change any NPC's outfit permanently (including children, non-followers and NPCs added by any mods) with a simple use of a ring. The slot limit has been upped to 500 NPCs in this version.

If you have them with AFT it can do it to.

I had the Brown-Face-Bug as well, but only on some of the replaced kids. The reason was my super outdated version of KS Hairdos. After updating to the latest version of KS the mod works fine.

View File

Skyrim Teens 2.0 is a child remover mod that completely replaces all Children with Teen\Adults.

Characters are full height and retain their childish voices, which gives the impression of Teens.

Main file requires KS Hair full.

2 Patches available , Cutting Room Floor and Helgen Reborn, Both require Apachi Hair Full. Both patches kindly provided by a Loverslab member.

FULLY TESTED, NO ISSUES, one hopes!

Will this affect any children added by other mods or is it just named children from vanilla? I use “Your lost son” and it would be nice for them to grow up a bit. If not is there a guide on how to patch this?

FYI, if nobody's already mentioned it, the Simple NPC Outfit Manager on the Nexus has been working well for me with regards to changing outfits for these "teenagers".

It's all in-game dialog based and seems to work with virtually any NPC in the game.  You can build custom outfits from pretty much any gear you have available, or assign generic vanilla outfits that don't have to be in your inventory if you would rather not go to the trouble of gathering the gear for the custom outfits.  The beauty of the custom sets is that you can store up to fifteen of them, which are still editable on the fly during the NPC assignment dialogs, and once you have them built, the items you built them with are removed from your inventory, thus removing the weight.  So, it's a bit of a cheat, I suppose, because you can assign the same saved outfits to multiple NPCs without the need to craft or purchase new copies for each NPC.  Didn't bother me since I cheat heavily anyway, but ymmv...

You do have to do one NPC at a time, as far as I can tell, but there aren't really that many teenagers and they're pretty spread out, so you "fix" them as you meet them.  I've yet to see any NPC's turn down the dialog, so it just plain works.

Needs an Update,Its not working with 1.6.640

I have it working in mine and I'm running 1.6.640. Check that LOOT didn't put something below it that caused it not to work.
In my case an RSCO patch was placed below this mod and caused it not to work. Once I moved teens below it on the right side of MO2 it worked.

Hope this helps you.

Ask CPU to transfer the mod to you?

I want to express my thanks for this mod. Children in Skyrim was never a good match with my modded Skyrim. This mod fixed that. So now they can stay home watch preston playzs instead.

I wonder if you ever thought of replacing the voices too? I've done some testing on my end and replaced all the 588 audiofiles for all female children in Skyrim with a lower pitched voice. It's still the same voice se, but it sounds more mature (at least I think so). I've yet to reduce the output dB for it since it's just a bit too loud. And maybe also try to have the voice sound just a bit warmer.

Anyway if you're interested I can send you the folders with all the files and you can include them in your mod (after I've fondled with them a bit more). I guess I should try to modify the malechild voices too. Here's three example files of how it sounds after I've depitched them ?
