SexLab Framework Development

I don't have the technical ability with Skyrim that I did with Oblivion (didn't care enough to learn a new form of scripting yet) so I'll leave the details to others, but I'll toss out a few observations real quick.

 

The teleport problem happened with me as well, often. And not always at the start or end of sex. With sexcrop (from the mod here) in hand sometimes just raising it was enough. Indoors it's just a nuisance, outdoors though it can be deadly if triggered outside of sex because there's nothing to stop the fall.

 

Sexlab Defeat no longer seems to function properly, for example when it's supposed to go into a bound animation or into the "fatigued" idle people just stand there instead. Normally it takes the "clean-up" command from that mod to get them back on their normal AI, that didn't happen with the 59c version of SexLab.

 

For some reason my male PC keeps getting female animations such as lesbian breasfeeding or zyn lesbian. It doesn't look quite as weird as I'd have expected, but it still shouldn't be I don't think.

 

Stats are NOT updating properly, with the mod "Rape Spell" it's kinda required to have the stats update since the mod depends on the stats of the participants. That one might be due to my use of Stats Manipulator from here though, looking over an old thread for that mod they seem to have tampered with the rate or way in which stats are updated and I have yet to test a new game without that. If I get a chance I'll try it but for now I just went back to the old 59c version of SexLab.

 

On the stats, I sure do wish there was a way to actually reset them to zero like we used to be able to instead of always generating stats based on level or whatever.

 

Looks great as far as the new functions, once the bugs are worked out it should be an improvement over the current version. Take your time and get it right, don't let people rush you.

Why complaints about other mods that weren't updated for beta version of sexlab? I'm not even moding and I find it infuriating :D

 

What complaint? I don't expect them to build the new version around old mods, but I also am aware that sometimes changes are not intentional. If something was changed for a reason and other mods need updated, great. But if something got changed or broken by mistake or just incidentally it's kinda hard to fix it if nobody points it out. The way acts end seems to have changed, just wanting to inform them in case it's something they hadn't intended.

Does anyone have a problem where animation stages don't revert to the previous stage even when hitting Shift + advance animation hot key? I'm facing serious issues with that, wherein they do advance from stage 1 to stage 2 but i cant get them to reverse, they seem to only progress forward. I've tried reversing them with Sex Lab Tools 2.0 as well but it doesn't work, it only goes forward so it's not a hotkey issue. I did change my advance animation hotkey from the default space key because my PC jumps during animation if i use space and i know that is not a SL issue because Ashal pointed out that an alternate mod is perhaps overwriting that function. I'm trying to investigate which mod that may be.

 

Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

 

UPDATE: Weirdly, the animations only wont reverse to phase 1, they will reverse from phase 3 to 2 and 4 to 3 and so on but never to phase 1 and this only transpires with about 50% of the animations not all.

 

Really stumped about this.

It's a thread for input about the new version. Paprys logs would be needed if a specific problem or issue was in question but didn't seem relevant to general observations. You are absolutely right, there is lag for sure, what do you suggest?

Just took a quick look in-game and noticed the issue with switching animation stages back and forth leading to the wrong animation pairs being played. In addition, after further attempts the animation stopped responding to attempts to change stages and would not end normally and would not stop with the end animation hotkey. The animation could only be terminated using the Stop All Animations option in Rebuild & Clean.

 

There don't appear to be any script errors accompanying the issue. This is with creature animations if that is significant. Thread 0 is the controlled animation involving the PC:

Does anyone have a problem where animation stages don't revert to the previous stage even when hitting Shift + advance animation hot key? I'm facing serious issues with that, wherein they do advance from stage 1 to stage 2 but i cant get them to reverse, they seem to only progress forward. I've tried reversing them with Sex Lab Tools 2.0 as well but it doesn't work, it only goes forward so it's not a hotkey issue. I did change my advance animation hotkey from the default space key because my PC jumps during animation if i use space and i know that is not a SL issue because Ashal pointed out that an alternate mod is perhaps overwriting that function. I'm trying to investigate which mod that may be.

 

Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

 

UPDATE: Weirdly, the animations only wont reverse to phase 1, they will reverse from phase 3 to 2 and 4 to 3 and so on but never to phase 1 and this only transpires with about 50% of the animations not all.

 

Really stumped about this.

 

Is there any noticeable lag when this happens? Could be a script misbehaving.

 

Just took a quick look in-game and noticed the issue with switching animation stages back and forth leading to the wrong animation pairs being played. In addition, after further attempts the animation stopped responding to attempts to change stages and would not end normally and would not stop with the end animation hotkey. The animation could only be terminated using the Stop All Animations option in Rebuild & Clean.

 

There don't appear to be any script errors accompanying the issue. This is with creature animations if that is significant. Thread 0 is the controlled animation involving the PC:

Yep facing the exact situation here as well, the animations 1) Do not sync together as one, so the one actor is in stage 3 and one in stage 2 and then 2) They stopped responding and had to be reset pressing the end (default) key.

 

The above is in addition to the reverse stage issue i previously described.

I think for the sheer fact that there are multiple old mods with nobody working on them to update them for this new framework, there needs to be a large amount of backwards compatibility in this framework. Like xbox 360 vs the original Xbox. Like PS2 vs PS1. An attempt at support for a majority of the old features, if not all of them.

Creation a "major version" of a framework will have consequences on outdated mods. That is normal in all software industry.

Reducing the impacts on old mods is acceptable, but not when this will make impossible to implement new features.

 

I tested many mods for SL 1.60RC2 and very little mods were not working. And 99% of them were using "internal

 feature of SL, and internal feature may change in any release.

 

Don't worry too much about "old mods no more maintained". If people really like these mods, then somebody will do an update.

Does anyone have a problem where animation stages don't revert to the previous stage even when hitting Shift + advance animation hot key? I'm facing serious issues with that, wherein they do advance from stage 1 to stage 2 but i cant get them to reverse, they seem to only progress forward. I've tried reversing them with Sex Lab Tools 2.0 as well but it doesn't work, it only goes forward so it's not a hotkey issue. I did change my advance animation hotkey from the default space key because my PC jumps during animation if i use space and i know that is not a SL issue because Ashal pointed out that an alternate mod is perhaps overwriting that function. I'm trying to investigate which mod that may be.

 

Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

 

UPDATE: Weirdly, the animations only wont reverse to phase 1, they will reverse from phase 3 to 2 and 4 to 3 and so on but never to phase 1 and this only transpires with about 50% of the animations not all.

That sounds exactly like the problem RC2 precisely fixed. Make sure you're files are all fully updated and nothing is overwriting them, and if so you HAVE to run the FNIS users tool for the fix added in RC2 to work. 

 

And check your papyrus logs, if you see a lines mentioning any sexlab files, most notably sslActorAlias, being different from version in save; than your save is fucked and you performed the upgrade while sexlab was in the middle of running some scripts still. You'll have to clean the save file to recover from this if that's the case.

My concern with SL 1.60 as an observation and being an experienced mod user is it seems to corrupt the game save progressively not immediately. Perhaps this incident is isolated to my game, i don't know. I played SL 1.60RC2 for a while without any issues but after a while i had the option of either starting a new game or performing a clean install and reinstalling SL 1.60RC2, i chose the latter and it worked perfectly fine, however a day later, i am now uninstalling it completely and retrying my luck since im facing stage advancement/reversal issues.

 

Disclaimer: Sexlab 1.60 is a gigantic feat and i applaud it, it is naive to expect an absence of teething problems, half of which may not even be a SL issue, all in all i know it will soon be the mod we all have been waiting for.

However i did run FNIS and the game was working perfectly fine for a day after which this issue presented itself. Also it should be noted that this issue persisted through all my previous saves as well, is that supposed to happen?

 

I did make sure no scripts were running during the upgrade.

 

EDIT: Could this have happened because i merged SL 1.60BETA 2 and RC2 in one folder (as one MOD to install) after performing a clean save (uninstalling SL and all dependent mods and using script cleaner) vs. installing 1.60BETA 2 and then installing RC 2 by dropping its files into 1.60's folder?

Getting a weird Error message When I just updated a fresh installation of Skyrim.

Happened after I upgraded to the newest version of 1.60. r 2

 

Edit: Tried using the two files from 1.59 file, swapped the old files in and still getting same error message when trying to run SKSE launcher. Updated SKSE to latest patch prior to re-install

It's either a windows dependency or an issue with an incredibly fucked up install of windows in any case.

 

 

 

So ended up having to re-reinstall everything. the SKSE Plugins folder was completely corrupted by some action I took. Lost a few save games due to corrupted save-game files. > My to-this-day favorite fem character is needing to be remade. 

 

Now to get everything as it was.

You are NOT using RC2.

That line says you're installing RC1. It'd have to be version number 15922 to be RC2.

 

Also the mass of ~2000 lines at the start of your log suggest you haven't done an actual clean save. http://www.loverslab.com/topic/22241-sexlab-troubleshooting-support-guide/Read and follow the section highlighted in red at the bottom.

Why complaints about other mods that weren't updated for beta version of sexlab? I'm not even moding and I find it infuriating :D

 

People write about incompatibilities not only to complain, but to warn others that such issue exists. It's very helpfull ex. when you're considering ugrading to a new version, but still want to be able to use some other mods.

I have the same thing happening as Sethwarner08. I'm using Sexlab 1.60RC2 and didn't install any of the previous versions either. Started a new game with it too. The very first animation in the log should show the issue. I used the hotkey to advance back a couple of times, back and forth even between stages but the animation doesn't revert back to stage 1 visually.

 

Internally, it apparently does. As example:

Stage 1 starts. Press <Space> to advance. Now playing stage 2. Press <Shift+Space>, no change visually. Press <Space> again, no visual change because animation was still playing stage 2. Press <Space> again, now playing stage 3.

 

Trying to visualize a timeline between input and animations playing:

 

Input:                 Space     Shift+Space  Space      Space           ...

Internally: Stage 1 -> Stage 2 -> Stage 1 -> Stage 2 -> Stage 3 -> ...

Visually:   Stage 1 -> Stage 2 -> Stage 2 -> Stage 2 -> Stage 3 -> ...

 

It's as if internally, the animation stages work fine. Both advance and move back. But visually they don't update, don't actually play the animation stage they should.

 

Log of Papyrus as well as Loadorder is attached but I'm not able to identify the issue. In fact, I can't even identify what's telling me animations progress in the Papyrus log at all. I'm sorry but usually I don't read debug logs. Don't even usually have them enabled. Yes, I've considered just getting a Playstation but then I'd have considerably less violent sex in my game. :(

Something is broken in the latest PapyrusUtil.dll in RC2. I've noticed that ejaculation rules in Sexlab Cumshot are lost after saving and reloading. What I'm doing is storing them as an int value on a misc object defined in the CK, with the animation name as key, for example:

StorageUtil.SetIntValue(rules, "Arrok Blowjob", 2)

Retrieving this value before reloading

StorageUtil.GetIntValue(rules, "Arrok Blowjob", -1)

gives the correct value, 2. However, after quicksave and quickload (or full save, exit game and load, doesn't matter) it returns -1, as if the value hadn't been set.

 

Reverting to the PapyrusUtil.dll in Beta 2 fixes the problem.  After save+reload the value is still 2, and the animation settings in Cumshot are still there.
