I mean you can create a religion with a temporal head of faith and make pretty much whoever you want the pope. The mechanics for a temporal vs spiritual head of faith are not the same but it would be very difficult (to my knowledge) to deliberately make someone the spiritual head of faith, unless you have another mod for that.

When i download the file and faith pack, they download as some kind of .7z file and when i put them in the mod folder they dont show up in the launcher

 

Edit: Found out the problem. it's archived as a 7z file, which i havent seen before, and i needed to download a special application to uncompress it. Explaining in case others experience the same problem

The church brothel buildings were removed for compatibility and balance purposes. I think I mentioned this in one of the changelogs, but maybe I didn't.

 

I packed the files as .7z out of habit, but it's free software that you can get here: https://www.7-zip.org/ - I'll try to remember to pack future releases as .zip

1) No, for a few reasons: I don't have any outfits, or know how to make them; and it would cause compatibility issues with any mod that adds clothing, and I don't want to maintain compatibility patches. I'd be all for someone else making the outfits and maintaining a sub-mod or something, though.

 

2) Devoted (monk/nun) characters are not automatically priestesses but should almost always accept the offer if you ask them.

 

3) I tried a few times to make the head of faith select something other than older women, but I couldn't figure out how in the end. If anyone knows how, let me know.

Character Body Overhaul has a "revealing" clothes option that works with the vanilla nun habit. If you don't want to have to manually toggle this option on a character by character basis, you could take a look at borrowing the portion of Regula Magistri 2 that automatically applies this toggle to certain characters depending on your chosen game rule and adjust is to suit your purposes. It also has a similar game rule for determining nudity that you could also co-opt if you wanted to go that route instead. Ultimate Nudity has something similar, but I've never used it so can't vouch for it personally.

Any plans for updates? Wards and Wardens introduced Wet Nurses and they can't work with this mod due to the addition of copulators.

I'll have a compatibility update up for Legacy of Persia and 1.11 sometime soon, probably before the 15th.

 

I don't have Wards and Wardens so I'm not sure how I'll update it for compatibility, but I'll try.

Preliminary update for 1.11 / Legacy of Persia will be uploaded shortly.

 

It turns out I do have Wards and Wardens, and the wet nurse system works for me. I haven't had time to test anything else very much so please let me know if something isn't working.

Version 0.6.5

  • Fixed Islamic court chaplain titles being the generic versions if your custom faith uses realm priests instead of court chaplains
  • Opinion tweaks
  • Reverted copulator court position categories, since it breaks the UI
  • Adjusted copulator and repentant piety gain values, and made it so they appear correctly in the menu
  • Copulators will now give you bonus learning at higher aptitudes
  • Added a Chief Qayna copulator position for Islamic faiths based off the Chief Qadi - they give the same bonuses, so you can only employ one or the other
    • Caveat: Overrides the vanilla Chief Qadi position, so load this before or after other mods that modify court positions depending on which you want
  • Child of God trait will now use the faith's HighGod name

Hotfix

  • Fixed Chief Qayna & Chief Qadi recruitment rules

  • I moved all the localization into two files in preparation for properly breaking them out into relevant files
    • I saved the old French and Chinese localizations, which you can find in the LegacyLocalization zip on the downloads page
  • Tweaks to aptitudes for all court positions
  • Priestesses created based off the character template may now rarely have the level 5 education trait
  • Priestess players may now invite AI characters to visit them
    • The AI will never do this, but I'd love for them to be able to in the future
    • There are rudimentary AI acceptance weights included, but I plan on fleshing them out more in the future
    • Children born to two nobles will be a Child of a Priestess, like usual
  • Changed the Elevate Child of a Priestess character interaction to be based off the vanilla legitimize bastard interaction
    • The father can still choose to elevate them right away in the event
    • Only the parent whose dynasty the child belongs to can use the interaction
    • The AI can (and likely will) use this interaction, so be careful
  • Added a game rule to force bastards with the Child of a Priestess into the father's house
    • If disabled (by default, and how it works now) if both the priestess and the father are noble, the vanilla CK3 known bastard rules apply
      • This usually means they'll end up in the mother's house if she's a ruler, and their father's house otherwise
    • If enabled, the child will always be a bastard of the father's house

  • Broke out the localization into relevantly named files instead of the mess it was before
    • This will be easier to maintain and hopefully easier for people to provide translations for as well

Going forward, I'll only be linking to translations in the downloads page and not including them in the official download (I'll still be copying the dummy English localization). Having to deal with 7 different sets of localization files is my least favorite part of the process by far so by not having to worry about it I'll be able to work a little bit faster when I do have time to work on the mod. I'd appreciate anyone working on translations to post it here in the thread for everyone to see instead of sending me a PM.

 

You can actually use whatever format you want for the localization files so long as all of the strings are there, so you don't have to follow my system or can make up your own. The choice is yours.

The process for using a fan made translation is very simple: Just delete the folder for the language you're replacing in the mod/localization folder and then copy the new folder in.

 Version 0.6.8

  • Fixed testing values in a lot of places, which I forgot to change
  • Added localization strings to some things which were previously hard-coded
  • Players may now appoint their own close family to the court positions - only the AI is restricted
    • I turned it off because the AI were making too many children of their dynasty, but players can deal with that if they want
  • The copulator position no longer blocks the holder from holding other court positions
  • Faiths with a spiritual head of faith will now get a head of faith title with a new succession type that prioritizes younger, instead of older, priestesses
    • Candidates will mostly be random in small realms, but that's how it works for other small faiths, too
    • For now, there's no system to replace them when they get too old
    • I managed to get this done with minimal overrides so should hopefully be compatible with most other mods

 

Let me know if you experience anything weird with theocratic succession. This is something I wanted to do for a while so I'm happy I could do it without overriding too much.

Thanks for the feedback and I'm glad you enjoyed yourself. Your suggestions are appreciated - I have a lot of ideas of what I want to do when I find time to do it. An overhaul of the various traits and character modifiers etc. is in order, for sure.
