Child of priestess doesn't seem to get all the positive traits the father has. Sayid is for example not transferred, not sure what causes this

Could you add an exception to the "must be under X age" requirement for the "volunteer at temple" decisions if the target has a longevity trait like immortal or succubus? I think Carnalitas did something similar for the prostitution decision.

In events/replace_unfit_priestess_event.txt:

replace:

scripted_trigger valid_unfit_priestess = {
	faith = root
	is_capable_adult_ai = yes
	NOT = { has_character_flag = unfit_priestess_can_stay }
	OR = {
		age >= 40
		has_trait = giant
		has_trait = beauty_bad_1
		has_trait = beauty_bad_2
		has_trait = beauty_bad_3
	}
	OR = {
		#Only looking at court chaplains atm (they hold temple baronies)
		trigger_if = { # Theocratic Faiths: Must be a Bishop
			limit = { faith = { has_doctrine_parameter = theocracy_temple_lease } }
			has_council_position = councillor_court_chaplain
		}
	}
}

with:

scripted_trigger valid_unfit_priestess = {
	faith = root
	is_capable_adult_ai = yes
	is_immortal = no
	NOT = { has_character_flag = unfit_priestess_can_stay }
	OR = {
		age >= 40
		has_trait = giant
		has_trait = beauty_bad_1
		has_trait = beauty_bad_2
		has_trait = beauty_bad_3
	}
	OR = {
		#Only looking at court chaplains atm (they hold temple baronies)
		trigger_if = { # Theocratic Faiths: Must be a Bishop
			limit = { faith = { has_doctrine_parameter = theocracy_temple_lease } }
			has_council_position = councillor_court_chaplain
		}
	}
}

this will ignore immortal AI priestesses for automatic replacement

'QUICK-START' GUIDE

  1. Launch the game with debug_mode enabled, or a mod that allows you to toggle it
  2. Either using the console or converting via the faith page, convert to the religion you wish to modify
  3. Open the console using the grave accent/tilde (`) key
  4. Add the clerical function
    • add_doctrine doctrine_clerical_function_prostitution
  5. Remove the old clerical function
    • remove_doctrine doctrine_clerical_function_taxation
    • remove_doctrine doctrine_clerical_function_alms_and_pacification
    • remove_doctrine doctrine_clerical_function_recruitment
  • All the following steps are optional
    1. If you want to be able to retire unsuitable clergy
      1. add_doctrine doctrine_clerical_succession_temporal
      2. remove_doctrine doctrine_clerical_succession_temporal_fixed
      3. remove_doctrine doctrine_clerical_succession_spiritual
      4. remove_doctrine doctrine_clerical_succession_spiritual_fixed
    2. To change clergy gender - select only one
      1. add_doctrine doctrine_clerical_gender_female_only
      2. OR add_doctrine doctrine_clerical_gender_male_only
      3. OR add_doctrine doctrine_clerical_gender_either
      4. Then remove_doctrine all other options

Question of clarification; can you still activate the mod from having the "Ritual Prostitution" Clerical Function Doctrine and the "Carnal Exaltation" tenant if you have the Adroit Religion's Pack?

Posted (edited)

This mod should work fine for game version 1.6.* but please let me know if that is not the case.

You can increment the version number yourself if you want to avoid the yellow warning triangle by changing

supported_version="1.5.*"

to

supported_version="1.6.*"

in the .mod file.

I think that's the case. Either way, you can bypass restrictions using the console if necessary.

My primary heir is a child of a priestress. He's not elevated, and not of my dynasty. Is that intended?

EDIT: I think I figured it out. You should not land children of priestresses.

Hey, I found the original Chinese localization for this mod is not complete . So, I translated them all, please add it to your next update when u could, thx. (haven't tried myself but I think it would work) simp_chinese.zip

BTW, I didn't check the mod code (I just translate the text from English version) so there might be some misunderstanding text (especially when there are many mod subjects. So, I have to guess the true meaning of a sentence when there are many code subjects according to their names.

Oh, and also the faith pack.

I'm working on updating this to version 1.9* now. I'll include your translation. Thanks.

This file will also be the new home of the updated Faith Pack.

Posted (edited)

Updated to 1.9.*!

Version 0.6.1

  • Updated for game version 1.9.*
    • Updated court chaplain
    • Updated bishop title custom localization
  • Removed temple holding changes for compatibility purposes.
    • The files are still there if you wish to re-enable them (common/buildings and common/holdings)
  • Invite novice decision now costs gold instead of piety
  • Novices from the decision should no longer have breast traits if you do not have the Carnalitas body parts game rule enabled
    • Caveat: The traits added will all be the 'good' variant since it'd be too annoying to have like 9 different templates
    • They still sometimes appear with only two personality traits, but I'm not sure why
  • Random selection for priestess pregnancy should now target characters with low fertility less often, if ever
  • Simplified Chinese localisation added courtesy hsjackson111

I only tested for 10-20 minutes so let me know if there's something not working. I did not test the faith pack (I don't use it) but there's nothing in there that should break.

Tested working as far as I could tell:

  • Court positions
  • Random pregnancy (player, volunteers, and court positions)
  • Volunteer other decision
  • Volunteer self decision and events
  • Sex scenes
    • I forgot to test them from as a male player but they should be working?
  • Child trait gain (child of god, child of priestess etc)
  • Random events
    • Exalted priestess, chaste priestess etc
  • Compatibility with the two Carnalitas slavery submods
  • Other stuff probably

Untested:

  • Anything involving men as prostitutes. Not sure if this has ever worked anyway
  • A lot more probably

I can't seem to select ritual prostitution while I have Carnalitas Dei, because it removed the carnal exaltation tenet, and the doctrine doesn't seem to register.

I'm just going to remove the requirements next update because the AI will never choose it, anyway, and if you're choosing it you can tailor your religion for yourself. For now you can either use the console (look at the OP) or replace Divine Prostitution\common\religion\doctrines\adroit_doctrines.txt with the attached file.

There's also another small fix to be made in Divine Prostitution\events\adroit_birth_escape_event.txt - just add an equals sign ( = ) after else_if. I think this has been broken forever so I'm not even sure what it does.

Both of these will be in the next update along with other error log fixes. I'm not sure when that update will be so please make these small changes in your own copies.

Updated - I've also split the downloads.

Version 0.6.2

  • Removed requirements for selecting the doctrine
  • Child of priestess trait now properly makes the trait holder unable to inherit
  • Added decision to become promised to the people, which blocks the holder from marrying
    • That's all it does for now. It might be nice to have some kind of celebration event in the future
    • Only for player character women - allows you to play as a ruler who only gets children from random pregnancy
    • You still have to manually volunteer via the other decision, so you can do a little bit of family planning, or even pledge before you're an adult
    • There's also no vanilla way to break the promise yet - for now use the console (remove_trait promised_to_people) or load an older save
  • Small fixes

Version 0.6.3

  • Moved all age checks to a scripted trigger
  • This was a requested feature to allow players to increase the age requirement without having to edit many different files or modify the adult age
    • You can change it in the common/scripted_triggers/sm_misc_triggers file
    • It should be at or above the adult age - setting it below adult age will cause parts of the mod to function incorrectly
    • Caveat: Characters holding court positions must be adults at minimum, and the trigger wasn't working in those files for some reason
    • Caveat: The character templates must have a defined age, which I've set to 16, the default adult age in CK3
      • You can change the defined age in the common/scripted_character_templates if desired
      • Ensure the character template defined ages are greater than or equal to the trigger age to ensure they can do their jobs
  • Priestess templates now use random traits to ensure each generated character has three traits, instead of picking from occasionally incompatible traits
    • They also have weighted selection on some bonus traits now
  • Characters with the promised to the people trait will be selected for random pregnancy more often
  • You must now be 8 years old and unmarried to take the decision to proclaim yourself promised to the people
    • Taking the decision will also break any betrothal you have agreed to
  • Added and changed some portrait animations in events
  • You can now have up to two repentants
  • Changed some aptitude weights for both court positions
  • It now costs a token amount of gold to visit priestesses

I'm not seeing a descriptor file to go alongside with this mod. Do you still install this into your mods folder like you would a regular mod without the adroit prostitution mod, or do you need to replace the adroit prostitution mod with this file?

Just install the mod normally, it has a normal descriptor file and everything.

Hi, can someone please tell me how to remove a "virtuous/sinful" trait through console commands? Is there any way of changing the holy sites?

I changed the clerical function to ritual prostitution but still don't have the "church brothel building option" in temple holdings. Why is that?

How do you use this mod? I tried downloading the files and putting them in the ck3 mods folder and it didn't work

When i download the file and faith pack, they download as some kind of .7z file and when i put them in the mod folder they dont show up in the launcher

Edit: Found out the problem. it's archived as a 7z file, which i havent seen before, and i needed to download a special application to uncompress it. Explaining in case others experience the same problem

Church brothels were remowed for compatibility, I think.

The virtues of your faith do depend on its tenets and doctrines, which can be changed using save editing; the same goes for holy sites.

You can change it in the religion file as well, if you want.

Ah, it makes sense although the building .txt file is still there. Thanks. Which command is it to change the holy sites and where can I find their IDs?

I don't think you can change it with a console; if you edit the safe file, the holy sites of your faith are located closer to the bottom; just search for them by name or something.

ID of holy sites in the safe file located after all religions; you just have to find the name of the county that you are looking for and copy its number in your faith's holy site bracket or whatever.

Here is an example of what I did to my faith, including adding a few holy sites at the end. (Sorry for possibly bad english)

Just 3 quick questions:

1) does this mod have any custom clothing for nuns (I like the nun habit but would also like a more revealing outfit, or nude)

2) How does this mod work with the Monastism tenent? Do characters with the monk/nun trait count as priestess and show up in church brothel events?

3) Any plans for Head of religion? It's just an idea but I am trying to get my nun daughters to become the next female pope but it often falls to very old women I have no idea existed. Would be cool if since we founded the religion that we get a say on who becomes the new popess.
