What would be considered the best mod manager for Skyrim, I been using Vortex for Fallout 4, and despite having a good time with it, SPACE MARINES, I also get a massive migraine when I try to use mods that are not from the nexus, so I was hoping to find a better one before I start modding Skyrim. 2.) Is there a difference between Special Edition and Anniversary edition, I been seeing stuff on mods that says Legendary edition compatible and Special edition compatible etc. 3.) What would you guys say is better for modding, Special Edition or Anniversary edition, I am not afraid to admit when I'm ignorant about something, and I just can't see the difference between the two, so I hope someone can explain that as well as suggest which one you think is best for modding. I thank you all in advance.

Mo2 and Vortex are the most popular. I am using vortex just fine, others hate it and love Mo2 and vise versa. If you don't like vortex, go with Mo2. It's the oldest and the one with the most Mods on during many old mods aren't converted to SE or Authors just don't wanted to move to it cause of "why the fuck should i?" But SE has many mods LE don't. Main Difference is that Mods for LE don't work with SE. Anniversary is a Patch. that's the simplest way to put it. It transforms every Special Edition version into AE. We called it AE cause it's easyier to differentiate. An SE Version of 1.5.97 is considered SE. Everything above is AE. There are mods that need to be updated for AE, many are already. But if you have the chance to downgrade it and it works.. Do it. AE is a shit show. If you can't downgrade, go for LE i say. Fuck Bethesda?

I have only used Mod Organizer 2 on PC, so I don't know about whether others can do this or not... But what I have found helpful is to make a separate download directory to stash mods I've downloaded. One can then tell MO2 to open those; MO2's 'attention' will stay pointed in that directory or folder until you change it. Thus, downloading mods and installing mods becomes two separate easy processes - one for downloading, usually via browser, like you download everything else; and MO2's install-from-elsewhere process. Also it doesn't matter how fucked up MO2 gets or whether Nexus gets another great author-enraging idea like it did in July2021, you have a separate cache of 'mods-you-have-downloaded' as a backup. (So I still have Arthmoor's USSEPatch for the just-before-AE 1.5.97 version of SkyrimSE... ha ha ha)

I consider using your own brain, the Plugins.txt + Notepad++ as a mod manager. Calling using your mind hard core is something - hard core.
