Outdated or missing "SexlabUtil"with v163.7z

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

i read through alot of threads here concerning this problem but it seems i cannot fix it.

i do use the newest SE Verison of Skyrim and i tried to completely reinstall SexLab Framework with deletinf archive, same with SKSE (Latest AE build 2.1.5 (runtime 1.6.353))
I compared the SKSE and Steam SE Version and they are both the same Build.
Sexlabutil.dll is also correctly in the /Skyrim/Data/SKSE/Plugins/ folder installed

I even deactivated all Outdated Plugins from the Compatibility Tracking but the same error would persist. Does anyone have a idea? From reading through the threads it can just be a version issues or missing dll?
Edit: i forgot to mention i was using the vortex client to install it all

Download the correct versions and dependencies, see the quote from SexLab download page:

Quote

Note on downloads:

For Skyrim Special Edition (1.5.97, aka SE) use SexLabFrameworkSE_v163.7z

For Skyrim Special Edition (1.6.353, aka AE) use SexLabFrameworkAE_v164c.7z

AE also requires latest version of Address Library (available here)

Oh sorry, did not know you were confused by the SE/AE naming for SkyrimSE versions:

SE versions greater than 1.6.xxx is now being named AE since they came with the free AE update in November.

If you do not downgrade, you have this installed.

The AE DLC does nothing to your game version, just buys all CC content.

Please install v164c for 1.6.353. Also check your other SKSE plugins, i think Vortex warns you if some are not compatible by reading the "skse64.log" for you.

That file is in "%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition\SKSE".

Thank you very much, for writing this :) I had no idea the new versions of SE are considered AE. This saved my day!

I know this is an old post, but I found a solution. Instead of using the version for SE (which is currently on v163) I tried using the one for LE (which is currently v165), and it worked despite I play Skyrim SE.

Brother. LE is 162 and hasn't changed since 2016. You're talking about AE.

Now, you say you play Skyrim SE, but AE is just a way to call later versions of Skyrim SE. You don't need to buy or install anything extra, all you need to do is let Steam update your game wherever it pleases. That has been the deal for the past year since AE was released. And you should not let Steam, or any other program, update or alter your game files if you're serious about modding any game.

I am also having the same issue and there isn't a way to fix it. I got the SE, 1.6.4, but that's apparently AE edition, so I downloaded all SE versions, the Sexlabutil is invalid, but when I download all the AE versions of the mod, it says it isn't compatible with the current version and all the mods break. So, both SE and AE mods are completely broken. Any tips on how to fix it on a Skyrim SE 1.6.4 edition? I've downloaded and ran all the SE editions on my 1.6.4 version module and no matter what I do, they don't work. :/

And yes, I read that new versions are AE, but that isn't the case for me. Every time I use AE mods, FNIS tells me they arn't SE and entirely incompatible, so I can't figure this out after over a week sadly.

It depends entirely in the version of your SkyrimSE.exe file. There has been several releases of SL for specific SE and AE versions. You find your exe version, grab the corresponding SKSE, Address Library and SL Framework for these. That's it. If you start thinking in terms of SE and AE without knowing your exact executable version you're wasting time.

FNIS detects hkx files (animations mostly). Nothing changed between SE and AE for these files to be incompatible. So if FNIS is reporting incompatible files it means you got stuff for Skyrim LE (aka the 2011 game). If you're 100% certain you have a SE/AE game and SE/AE animation mods, then you're likely using the wrong version of FNIS (because then you'd be trying to use SE animations on a mod made for LE which obviously doesn't work...).

So know exactly which version of the game you have (SE/AE won't do unless you really know what you're talking about) and verify you're getting mods for SE. If the mod has a dll file, verify you're getting the correct version for your specific executable/SKSE version. That's it. That's how it's always been.

Thank you for the advice. I did uninstall the SE version of Sexlab Framework using Vortex, the SE version of Address Library, and replaced my old SKSE for the one designated for 1.6.64, (My current SE edition version.) and installed the SL Frameworkv165 (Which iirc, is for 1.6.64) and the AE version of the Address Library, but I am still running into the same problem. FNIS is working with the new files and not giving me any errors however so that's an upgrade.

Hello. im not sure if this haves to do with it but if you downloaded the Adress library for AE you should try Downloading and Installing the Sexlab Framework AE version, that might  work.

The only SL Framework versions that works for 353 are found on github, so unless you go digging for the correct version there you won't have much success.

Staying in 353 isn't really a good call here, pretty much anything available for 353 has been already ported to 1.6.640. And people who don't want to update just stick to 1.5.97.

I am losing my mind since i keep getting the same fail message about outdated or missing sexlabutil.dll. I dont know what they want me to do with it. I found that file inside sexlabframeworkSE_v... I mean it has its own file for the SKSE/plugin and there it is... I dont get what they want me to do with it... (All of the mods was reinstalled, checked for correct updates and installed right) Still get that message.

What do I do?

Check the requirements. If you do have the correct version of SL for your game/SKSE and you're still seeing that message it likely means you're not using the correct Address Library, and that's a SL requirement.

You could try reading the other posts on this page.

With problems like this you should always state which version of Skyrim.exe you have and which version of SKSE64 you have as a bare minimum of info.

This is where it gets tricky.
I have Skyrim.SE version 1.6.1170 and I use
1.
SKSE64 is version 2.2.6 along with the Address Library.
2. SkyUI version 5.0 or newer

2. the Sexlab version SexLabFrameworkAE_v166b.7z For Skyrim Special Edition (1.6.1170, aka AE)
3. XP32 Maximum skeleton and following the guides on youtube with that FNIS updating for animations
4. Racemenu
What am I doing wrong? i really dont get why I get this "Outdated or missing "SexlabUtil" mesage

I would love all the help I can get, also I have read almost everything on here and ppl who had similar problems or similar error messages but different solution since it didnt work for me of what worked for them since it really do seem i have the correct version of all my required mods. I posted the info right above if you could help me

There are two versions of Address Library there. Are you sure you have the correct one, i.e. the second one?

If you use MO2 or Vortex you should look if anything is overwriting the files from Sexlab, Address Library etc.

Well, you're omitting the exact version of Address Lib you're using and that could be the problem, which was the point of my previous message. If that's not the case I've seen some users reporting similar errors with old VC runtime installs (the Visual C++ redistributables Steam installs, some programs like MO2 have additional VC runtimes to be installed and some SKSE plugins too, I don't think this is the case for SL though, which is why I didn't mention it before, and you'd really need to be in an old VC runtime install for this to be a problem to begin with).

I was also losing my mind, couldn't figure it out. (But i somehow fixed it)
I've downloaded every possible version of the framework.

Having the 1.6.1170 AE version, i've downloaded the v166b.7z version of the framework, thinking it'd work. I ran GenerateFNISForUsers, no warnings, ran LOOT, no errors, but upon launch, SKSE Plugin Loader would throw up more or less this exact message.

PapyrusUtil and SexLabUtil disabled.

If i clicked "Yes", and tried playing, i'd get the message i quoted below.
The only version of the framework that let me boot the game without the SKSE Plugin Loader message was 163 somehow. So that's the version i used.
Loaded up the game, and...

This exact thing would show up.

I was running out of options, so i've downloaded the newest Visual C++ redistributable version, loaded up the game, still the same error.
But then, in a hopeless last attempt, i took the SKSE Plugins folder from the v166b, and overrode the 163 files (
PapyrusUtil and SexLabUtil dll's), and lo and behold, it just worked. (i do apologize for the quote :D)

Reloaded the game, and yep, still works, amazing.
Hope this somehow helps, even though the discussion took place a long while back.

People get so creative. Many ways to workaround not following mod requirements.

image.png.83aa5f408d70dda49d5d0967fa686019.png

This is just you not installing the correct Address Library version. Stop mixing SL Framework versions and just use the correct files for your game version.
