Midnight19 Posted December 18, 2021 Posted December 18, 2021 as you can see my Mods and DLC are enabled i Tried to start a new game, but instead of the Alternative start Dungeon it starts the Vanilla Carriage scene. I only have 252 active plugins so I am not above the 256 Limit. does anyone have any Idea what to do ?

How many deactivated Plugins do you have installed? 508 active and deactivated installed plugin limit Active and deactivated plugins count against that limit, sum of all installed plugins The upper limit might be lower, from my experience staying ~450 plugins works best Symptoms with or with close to ~508 active and deactivated plugins: Skyrim fails to load any plugins on game start causing the vanilla Skyrim intro to play as if no mods are installed Solution: delete deactivated esp (make a backup of them if they are needed later) uninstall mods that aren't needed anymore, instead of just deactivating the esp delete esp of already merged plugins (make a backup of them if they are needed later) Wrye Bash plugin ghosting MO plugin ghosting Nitpick 60 could it be so easy? Not tested.

Dorabella Posted December 18, 2021 Posted December 18, 2021 Just to say: Disable ( don't Uninstall) mods except: UPDATE and DLC, start a new game, when you have control in the console type: coc_qasmoke or coc qasmoke You probably know, you will be screened in a test room. If everything works, exit the game and re-enable the mods Have you tried with Clean Save?

Not tested. i have 511 plugins in total question if I delete a Esp that I used in a merge but keep the files what would happen ?

Not tested. I just deleted a handful of plugins down to 493 and it works! thank you so much! I was afraid i was going to have to Reinstall Everything.

You can delete esp you used in a merge. In case you want to rebuild or modify the merge keep the esp => just remove them from Skyrim/data, because they count against the plugin limit as long as there are located there. For quick experiments you can delete the esp and keep them in the wastebin. From there you can recycle them anytime.

I only keep esp of mods with bodyslide files (all those "armor" mods) because I had issues with UUNP armors missing their bodyslide modification if I removed the esp after a merge. I'm sure there is a workaround, it's on my ever growing "how to" list (guess I would need to rename BS output to fit the merge plugin name). For more limits check this out, just found it while browsing the net:
