Raitoon Posted October 4, 2021 Posted October 4, 2021 Hello again, guys I'm fairly new to this modding community and I still have a lot of things to discover so I wonder if there is any kind of software to check your mods for updates. Or may be a website of some kind. Because yesterday I've discovered that my Mods Folder has grown over 6Gb of stuff... I don't even know everything that is in there and obviously one of the UI Mods was outdated and ruined my gaming experience. So I was wondering if there is any way to automatize checking for updates on various mod files or not. Please share some knowledge. Thank you in advance.
Howarde Posted October 4, 2021 Posted October 4, 2021 Yes, with MO2 (Mod organizer 2) If you are new to skyrim modding, consider using some guide to help you (and i'm not saying that this is the only guide) (this one also https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/23894?tab=description)

Thank you in advance. no, there is no such thing... first step, you need to sort your mods. create folders for everything, like clothes, hair, furniture, etc - so it's easier to sort the outdated mods out. for CC stuff, you can use The Sims 4 Studio, to "update" your CC after a game update for script mods etc you have to check the mod where you downloaded it, there is no other way - that's what everybody does
DarkAudit Posted October 5, 2021 Posted October 5, 2021 It's called Google. It's your friend. Any kind of shortcut or all-in-one solution will invariably break your game. It's up to you to do the work to keep your mods properly updated, not some tool of unknown origin or trustworthiness. Don't be lazy.

You should know what Script Mods you have installed so you know which ones will likely need updates but you learn them over time. CC like Makeup, Clothing, Jewelry, etc. rarely break but there are exceptions although you don't need to keep track of all your CC installed. As long as you put all your Makeup CC into the Mods/Makeup folder, for example, you can just remove the entire folder for testing. This is why it's important to have all your Mods organized by category or Script Mod name early on before you have 20gb to sort. Putting all your Makeup into one folder/location will also lessen the chances of having duplicate files when you download more later. Typical when downloading Custom Sims that include CC that might even include parts of outdated Mods like Wicked Whims or Nisa'a Wicked Perversions. Some also include large merged files that have a ton of Makeup hiding inside the same merged file for example. This means now you might have hidden duplicates you can't detect or find. Be careful what you download. Disabling Origin Automatic Game Updates will save you some trouble so you have more time for the Mod Authors to update their Mods before you update your game. Launch Origin and Play Offline so you don't have to update right away.
