Arcturus7777 Posted September 27, 2021 Posted September 27, 2021 Ok, I am changing mod created followers from whatever body they have to BHUNP. The meshes seem to be the easy part. But looking at some of the followers naked. They might have gaps at hips, or weird looking breasts. I am guessing this is a texture problem. SO, what textures do I need to change, or what textures can I change, without messing up the face. or getting a face to body color mismatch. Do I need to know what the original texture on the mod is? Some of mods I have problems with Ciri has gaps at hips and breast problems.

To get the result, it would be advisable to know which textures they use (Bijin skin, Demoniac, The Pure, etc ..). Using textures for BHUNP of the same type later will not change the follower result Usually, the textures that give that problem are femalebody_1 and femalebody_msn , But, it would be better to replace them all
imai8312 Posted September 27, 2021 Posted September 27, 2021 If you change the body of a stand alone follower to BHUNP and you see the things you describe it is because the textures that came with that follower are for CBBE, and/or you are using CBBE textures for your default characters. You need to replace all the body textures in the follower mod directory with ones for UNP. That would be all the femalebody_x.dds and femalehead_x.dds. They can be from any UNP texture but if you want to maintain the look of the original then use the UNP version of whatever the original used. Edit the texture paths of the replacement body to point to your intended textures using NifSkope.
anjenthedog Posted September 28, 2021 Posted September 28, 2021 As @imai8312 suggested, UNP-family body types require UNP based textures (UNP UUNP, BHUNP), and CBBE family body types (CBBE, CBBE-SMP, CBBE-3BBB, CBBE-3BA2) need CBBE based textures. I didn't realize the heads change type though. Be aware that when working in Bodyslide on a secondary character (like a follower), if the secondary character has a different texture base than your player, (you are CBBE family, she or he is UNP family, or you are UNP family she or he is CBBE family), you will see those weird artifacts while working in Bodyslide. Have no fear though, because once in-game, they'll use their custom assigned textures. (Bodyslide uses the textures of the player... there's a trick workaround to get the right textures applied during Bodyslide work, but it involves moving all the player textures into a temporary archive folder (ex: "my player textures"), copying the follower's custom textures into the player texture folder to functionally replace the ones you just safely archived, then once done in Bodyslide, reversing the process to restore normal operation)

So I downloaded the unp version of sg female. copied them all into a file I zipped up, installed and body was great, but her scar and makeup were gone, SO, I deleted all the new head textures, and everything else, like hair, that was not body. And it looks perfect. Thanks for the help. Now lets hope the other ones I need to fix tell me what skin texture they used. Thanks again I do not know how to mark this as solved
