I've been having the fizzle issue on a new install/game, so I tried an old trick to see if I could get it to work after seeing a couple of logical errors in SexLab. Opening showracemenu in the command console, I changed my sex to the opposite, then back again, (you may need to tweak your character back to how you want them to look unless you saved a preset) and then saved those details in a fresh save file. I then found that everything worked.

My theory is something went wrong at character creation where my sex isn't recorded correctly, and there's a mismatch between what it stores and what it expects, but this little tweak fixed this issue for me. Thought I'd suggest it incase it helps anyone else.

If i have to guess, your actor was probably on some black list for lack of animations, being too small or invalid race. Once the actor is part of the black list for some of the last 2 reasons SexLab probably won't be able to start the animation even if the reason not longer exist.

Well, whatever the reason, doing the above fixed it. Figured I'd share it to see if anyone else getting the fizzle out message can resolve their issue. Just trying to share things that have worked to resolve any issues. ?

I have a question. How do I change the height so that spells work and animations run?

I have a problem. Previously, running sexlab animations with Elin worked fine, but now my spells from the MatchMaker mod don't work for me. Has anyone had such a problem? If so, tell me how you solved it. Thank you in advance

The restriction is on the SexLab Framework.

Есть ли способ это исправить? До недавнего времени все работало нормально

Sup guys, so i got match maker and it worked fine but then i got some other mods and now it doesnt work. It still applies on npcs but nothing happens afterwards! I removed mods and tried and still didnt work. Does anyone know how to fix it? https://i.imgur.com/aCmsOv3.png

Same here after I made a new save to test and see what's going on with my own modpack, which I made a tech support post for. The spells from here don't work on my character neither does 'Pleasure Self' to relieve arousal. No animations work either, but something is blocking my character from being interacted with by NPCs, while creatures and NPCs interactions with themselves work just fine.

I didn't have issues with Matchmaker before, but, I have changed my mods a bit since I was using Mod Organizer 2 for my SE mods.

I actually fixed it by installing MassMatchMaker! But the thing is that if i just download massmatchmaker even the game refuses to start but i somehow found version that not only allows me to open the game) but works perfect!!

The instructions with all the details are on the download page. The Mod is fine but most of the user's confuse it with the "SexLab Debug Spells" that is very different.

The spell can Freeze for few reasons.

1. Was applied to the actor before.

2. The actor can't be animated with SexLab (usually because is in forbidden faction)

3. SexLab is unable to start animations at the moment.

The actors get into the Forbidden Faction if you or some Mod try to start SexLab scenes with that actor at least one time while the actor was without valid animations or the actor was too small. In those cases after fix those reasons the Forbidden Faction still have to be manually removed.

Would of loved a guide on how to fix the faction's because for whatever reason after using then spells from this mod ,for a while it worked, the activation of the spell's showed on my screen making me see that the spell worked on player and casted npc's (But I'm guessing This bitch broke it) no animation started and after clean rebuild, add disable faction (forbidden sl faction ID) restart and save game when changin sex back and forth nothing did work and the mod is no longer working it just fizzles, and yes I am using the Irresistible Atractive self & target no sl debugg stuff (Disabled).

So yeah a proper how to and not just do this that from the air would of be better at least for me I don't know about other's. Since it seem's like a common issue. I'n the sense of the faction's and how it work's.

FYI: use command: help forbidden , and it will show a few ID's and of wittch they are part of, there are 2 that aftect SL and are FACT type (Forbidden actors & Member forbiden from having sex scenes) the fix is using on player/npc while having them clicked either mouse or prid to se them as active on console and typing: AddToFaction [ID of either Forbiden Actors or Member forbiden from sex, again only the ID number shown in ("") ] 0 (0=To set active) or -1 (To disable).

Greeting's.

Edit2:

Btw tried oldrim version that has up to 3 character's selected and it worked on SSE, after that installed Rev 9 for sse with up to 5 character's. And it's working as usuall. Just for anyone out there.

After much ado about not getting Skyrim SE(AE) and SL animations to work, I've made it work in Skyrim AE 1.6.1170:

BLUF: follow Skyrim SE S.T.E.P. modifications (i purchased the AE upgrade as is recommended) up until "05-Animation and Physics", user's discretion to downloading some minor mods like textures or DynDOLOD. Next follow the installation guides for SexLab. Allow Papyrus to overwrite SexLab. At this point SL and MatchMaker (and hopefully others) should work.

Unfortunately it might have required downloading the Skyrim Anniversary Upgrade for 20 bones. :/

For the long of it - this involved uninstalling all mods then following the S.T.E.P. guide up until the more personal taste mods (think combat gameplay mods, or the best graphics mods).

*I am using Mod Organizer 2*
Use the STEP guide and download and install the mods in order as the step guide lists them up until "05-Animation and Physics", this ensures overwrites are correct. Then install SexLab ABOVE papyrus, this ensures that papyrus overwrites the SL version.

After this it should be users preference to tailor your game to the playstyle of your choice. -take mind to the amount of overwrites that occur in subsequent downloads, as any overwrites to the "core" mods may mess up the desired SL functions.
As mentioned, the start of the STEP guide "requires" SE Anniversary Upgrade DLC, i went ahead and got it, however, I cannot confirm this is required.
I cannot say if SL and 1.6.1170 will work with all the other very specific sex gameplay or combat sex mods out there, the main purpose of this was to have the game "register" my character as a valid target for SL scenes, and it did (i.e. not have the "this spell fizzles on character" message appear). Once the mod file structure is created and installed, if you then incrementally install - and test in-game - small groups of mods at a time, would you be able to pinpoint what specific mods would give you trouble moving forward past the basic mod requirements for a moded Skyrim AE 1.6.1170 SexLab game.

2024 state of skyrim + SL may require the foregoing of some mods to make the SL experience work, trade-offs i guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Good luck.

-PS this mod (SL MatchMaker) was never the "problem". Most likely some other random set of game engine fixes or mods needed to be downloaded, or in the correct load order, prior for this mod to ever work.

Upon further testing, it appears CreatureFramework 1.1.0 pre2a-SE is the issue that causes SL animations and actors to not register and play.

Do not know a fix currently.

Use the creature framework that is on the SLAL version of More Nasty Criteria. I'm still using the one that is on the LE page of MNC.

Yeah - you right.

after going one by one through all my mods, it turns out Sexlab - Cum overlays extended 0.1.0 broke SL animations for me

I have every requirement up to date as far as I know, yet this mod refuses to show up in MCM/give spells/register at all in game, at least using MO2. I remember this mod working fine months ago so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here but unless it's my load order, which I've also spent a good hour or two troubleshooting, I can't get it to work. The Original version (Ashal) also doesn't register at all when I swap them out, so unless I find an alternative to Matchmaker, I'm completely lost atm.

Is a Skyrim bug that can happen with any Mod.

The Mod is probably fighting with another Mod for resources to start.

Change the plugin's load order, flag the Mod as master or use the options on the MCM Resort to force the detection of the new MCM's are some of the posible solutions.

tried all of these with no success. the attraction spells are added as soon as a new game starts but no menu. I have changed load order, plugin priority, flagging/changing esm, wrye bash, etc and nothing seems to have changed at all, even after forcing menus to refresh through mcm and console.

I'm pulling my hair out. I love this mod too much to give up, but it used to work out of the box (through vortex anyways, not mo2 so far)

appreciate the response but I'm still at a loss rn

Just noticed that this is the discussion thread for the SexLab MatchMaker. :)

for I remember the Matchmaker don't have MCM because there is nothing to configure since this mod is mostly used to test the SexLab Framework, everything is controlled by the SexLab Framework and the options on the SexLab MCM.

there are some versions of Matchmaker that let you choose the animation tags and have MCM but this one is just an update for the original MatchMaker made by Ashal for LE that also doesn't have or require MCM.

the spell's are everything you need, the detailed instructions are on the download page but the main thing to know is that the order of the actors will be the order they receive the spell and you have around 15 second's to cast the spell on the next actor each time one is selected.

Hi, I've been using this mod for a while, and it was always working without any problems. Recently I've played around with adding a few new mods, and it seems that one of them must've broken SexLab Matchmaker, because any time I try to use it now I get the message of "the spell fizzles out and fails to affect...".

What are the troubleshooting steps I can take to try and diagnose the issue? Any ideas?

Okay, never mind I managed to fix it myself.

In case someone else has this problem and finds it useful, this is what I did:

1. Uninstalled the mod

2. Loaded my last save, and then made a new save

3. Used ReSaver to clean the new save

4. Used NetImmerse Override Cleaner SE to de-bloat my save

5. Re-installed the mod

Loading the new (cleaned+debloated) save then triggered the mod install, automatically adding the spells to my character.

I then tested the spells and they all worked as intended once more. Success! 😃

Tbh, steps 3 & 4 were just for good measure (esp. 4). Probably would have worked either way.
