All done.

 

Editing her skull to fit the long hair took some time, but I finished it.

I also added extra polygons to her underwear and smoothed it out, so now her ass is extra smooth. It wasn't necessary, but I felt it needed to be done. XD

Here's a neat trick that might help save Yakuza modders some headaches.

Randomly, you may encounter this issue where a piece of textured mesh is rendered in front of the working transparent hair. Currently, there are two fixes to this problem:

1. You rename the mesh in question.

2. Join it with something.

The second option works best and the results are usually consistent, as long as you don't have any plans to go back to the mod and fix it up. ?

 

EDIT: I just realised I should fix up my previous Y5 mods now that I know what is still broken. Fuuuuuck, this is gonna be a pain. >__>

I'm still not making a new nude mod, tho. Lemme fix all my slightly broken mods first...

I can't do a NSFW variant for technical reasons. Her Hatsune Miku legs are THICKER than her normal legs due to the stockings. I would have to do some sculpting to make a convincing and faithful variant.

They were always there.

Well shit, Blender updated to version 3.1 and now the Yakuza GMD plugin doesn't work.

 

YAKUZA MODDING IS DEAD!!!! ?

 

EDIT: Never mind, I reverted to ver 3.0. It's working again.

My next mod is to perform a complete model replacement, much like the Freddy Fazbear or other character mods.

 

I have no experience with this sorta thing. There is a high likelihood that I will fail. I'm sorry if nothing comes out of it. ;__;

Obviously you have to push your ambitions to higher grounds if you are to progress, so settings new objectives is the way to go.:thumbsup:

Every character in this game have very long arms, and everyone is very tall.

Trying to put an anime-style character into this is gonna be difficult.

I think that got changed to be more consistent with most countries.

Actually, her height is more or less the same as Kiryu's. However, her arms are shorter, so that may help.

If this doesn't work out, I'll try going over to Kiwami 1 and create it there. Any Yakuza game developed after 5 have more complex bones, which should be more forgiving in bending stuff. Especially around the shoulders.

I really don't wanna get into this, but the age of consent in Japan is 13 ONLY if you're under 18. Otherwise, it's 16/18 depending on the prefecture. Also, these are fictional characters, so age of consent doesn't apply anyways.

Automatic Weights...

 

Somehow, it seems so simple now that I used it. And here I thought all the weight painting was done manually.

 

Still don't have anything to share. I'm still trying to get this to work.

 

Note to self: If "Automatic Weights" don't work due to error message, increase scale size for both meshes and bones. This will fix the issue. Remember to attempt this per separated mesh for better results.

...well, not fully. Not sure why the whole model looks inverted. I may be stumped. :/

Texture format may be damaged, model not working correctly, I honestly can't tell...

What do the textures of the Kat model look like? Given that Gravity Rush uses cell shading while Yakuza doesn't, the textures may work differently.

Kat Textures.rar

These probably don't work correctly as I simply renamed the format. I didn't put them through a program for proper conversion.

Yeah, just changing the file extension isn't gonna work. Use a program like paint.NET and save them as dds textures. This is from the modding guide:
"Before using custom textures, we need to convert them to .dds format. Open textures in paint.net and save as ‘DirectDraw Surface (DDS) (*.dds)’, and change the first drop down box to ‘BC7 (sRGB,DXT11+), Compression Mode to ‘Slow’, and tick the Generate Mip Maps option in the ‘Settings’ section on the left. Now assign the proper textures in blender and you should be done."
