[Y5] Yakuza 5 - Mods

Wanted to try my hands on a simple mod for Yakuza 5 by retexturing this character's tights and removing her skirt. It needs more testing, however.

I can't mod, so don't expect any model swapping or anything complex.

 

Also, it's been how long since the Yakuza games came out on PC and there hasn't been any saucy mods why???

Test mod done. This should only work in gameplay. I slightly edited the skin texture on her legs so she doesn't suffer from barbie doll anatomy. I also edited her butt so it's not as flat, but I don't think it's going to be noticeable due to the jacket.

Normally, I would attach a "guide for dummies" type of instructions with these mods so people like me can understand them step-by-step, but I haven't finalised it yet. Sorry.

Also, you can use Blender to edit these models, so if you are a skilled artist who can create 3D models, feel free to improve them.

Speaking of mods, I took a look at the cutscene version of Haruka in her casual outfit. I thought it would be funny if this no tights+skirtless mod showed up in the cutscenes. Unfortunately, the cutscene model is slightly different, so the only solution would be to either perform a model swap (which I don't know how) or bring some parts over and re-rig it so it works properly (which I also don't know how).

 

Geez, a lot of things require the knowledge on rigging. I have zero experience on that. >_>

 

Also, I'm gonna make a "no tights only" version. The process shouldn't be any different.

For players who want a semi-normal mod and don't like Haruka's pitch-black tights.

Haven't tried doing that yet. Honestly, I don't even know if the cutscene models work in the cutscenes at all, mostly because I can't find a cutscene. =(

I need feedback from other players on that.

Well, this is annoying. The mods I'm making don't have shadows. I dunno how to fix that. ?

So close, yet so far.

 

Also, I learnt how to rig by watching a Blender video on Youtube, for beginners. It's surprisingly much simpler when you don't overthink it.

The pic below is Haruka in Azusa's casual outfit. That red hat is adorable. (Just need to fix the hair, lol.)

 

 

EDIT: Dang it, the eyes are misaligned, and she has a bigger smile somehow. (Which looks kinda cute) Need another redo...

Now anyone who is interested in modding Yakuza games can do just that. If a stupid inept bastard like me can follow this guide, so can everyone else.

 

I don't think I'll be around to complete that Y5 Haruka nude mod for gameplay and cutscenes. I'm sorry. My health is failing fast, frighteningly so, and the one thing I wanted to at least do is give others the know-how on working on the games themselves. I don't enjoy people waiting for smart people to do all the work for them. I want others to reach out and express their own work.

 

So don't be lazy or rely on others. Take this guide and prove that you can contribute just as much. Be the hero and learn to mod, because I won't be around to see it.

I sincerely hope nobody was expecting someone who is supposed to be dead to make a Y5 Haruka nude mod. My faith in the modding community was already low, but holy geez.

Either the guide is useless, the modding community is lacking, or nobody cares to mod Yakuza games.

Is it possible for you to create a white jacket outfit for this mod of yours that was posted above. Both for gameplay and cutscenes? Your last mod only worked in gameplay but I would love to use this mod for cutscenes too.

I have no experience in technical stuff so when I tried doing it myself using your guide, i couldnt get anywhere at all
