Exactly so. While I am not certain of the numbers I believe that you have to have been on site for a week and made 5 posts. Here is how you will know you made it though. Please notice that in the upper right hand corner of your current avatar there is a symbol that looks a lot like a hand. When that has gone you will be able to upload an avatar of your choice (within the parameters of the Rules) and access all the other things available to members.

Really needs to be adjusted. The old finger sweep across the keyboard "kcjthygkv" on a random thread to get the 2 post minimum 5 minutes after joining, just to post a nasty vagina avatar was a thing for a few months, not too long ago. Hilariously, Newbies have no clue a new post bumps a thread to the top where everyone will see (including moderators), or even who anyone is. One actually spammed a thread by Ashal not too long ago!

 

Honestly, I think posting nonsense keyboard sweeps, or any nonsense unrelated to the thread topic should get at least a ... 1 month no avatar suspension!!!

fgbe Could be a abbreviation of words. We just delete posts that are gibberish and do the same when a report comes in about it or a spam post but actual spam accounts that post ads and stuff will get removed.

The purpose of language is to communicate and transfer thoughts and ideas. The assumption that the world knows what "fgbe" equates to in whichever alleged language, denotes a lack of communication skills on the part of the one using such gibberish. It is fine for 3 year old twins, but beyond that??? Time to grow up. And @myuhinny... don't feed the animals!!!! ?

While I agree with your premise that acronyms are a form of exclusion. I can also identify that the form of interface design has become more opaque overtime to people who were brought up with different exceptions. Those expectation weren't natural in the first place and the current ones are tied to a particular technological expectation only applicable to those 'riding the wave'. So I suspect 'Give them a break' is applicable, (and remember you will be there sometime).
