(SOLVED) Is it possible in BodySlide to connect different parts of the mesh together (into one whole)?

Hi, I need to connect paws to the body, is it possible to do this in OutfitStudio? Or what is the easiest way you would recommend me?

Merging them together would require all of the vertices on the edges to be at the exact same spot as the vertices of the other. Then you'd have to recreate the texture as those probably use two different textures. I hardly doubt Outfit Studio has a feature so complex.

What exactly is the disadvantage of leaving it as is? I mean you can simply have both objects in your mesh and both will get loaded.

The problem is, only body shapes can be changed and the paws do not adjust. It would probably be possible to make the paws change their shape at the same time as the body (legs), but I have no knowledge of how to do it. Currently, the body with the paws is somehow functional in BodySlide, but I'm not very happy with that.

I thought that if the body was in one piece with the paws, it would be easier to work with it.

Are you talking about BodySlide sliders? Because merging those two wouldn't solve that issue. You have to convert the paws to BodySlide for that. Best look up a tutorial on google or something. There's hundreds already out there which probably explain it a lot better than I could.

The latest version of BS can merge polygons, provided that they have no texture or consistent texture.

Your problem is not to merge polygons (simple merging, not professional vertex welding).

Your problem is that you will select an unused area on the character's texture, and then copy the texture of your claw to this area with the image tool (similar to the genital texture added on skyrim and Fo4 character textures).

Then use the UV edit of BS to align the UV of the claw with the texture.

Well, I would make these paws in the form of a morph on a separate new slider, so that you can change the shape from human to animal. The claws would simply be added as a separate mesh by attaching them to the "nails". Edit body textures. By themselves, such changes as the feet are not so significant as to cut the body for this. Of course, if necessary, you can also attach a mesh of animal legs, and you can even do this in 3d max very efficiently. But is it worth it? For me, this is some kind of stupid idea. )

I also wanted to merge body with paws them to make it easier to work with textures. But merging the mesh will be beyond my power, so I'll focus on creating a morph for BodySlide.

Sliders->Conform Selected

Ideally you'd also adjust the feet so they connect neatly with the legs.

How do i have to proceed ? I loaded in OutfitStudio mesh and OSD. Then I clicked on paws and then I clicked on Sliders-> Conform Selected, but nothing changed.

Thanks for the information, but I will deal with the textures later. First I have to solve a dysfunctional morph.

I'm not sure if human feet have enough polygons to make a good-looking paw.  But otherwise it's a pretty interesting idea.

I think I'll try to add a paw morph to change the shape along with the legs of the body.

add as much as you want. In os, you can add any number of vertices to the mesh.

Solved, I found a handy video tutorial, thank you all for your ideas and informations ??

So what's the solution? Link Please

I left paws and body unconnected and added morphs to paws. Now the paws change together with the body, later I will focus on textures.

I used some of the information from this tutorial.
