Bullfye Posted July 26, 2021 Posted July 26, 2021 Hey Does anyone knows where is located The Virtual Data folder that MO uses to install all Mods ?? Explaining , Whe you use MO2 with SkyrimSE The MO installs ever Mod and keeps a version of the packed file and also unpacked files when you installit , however it creates when you use MO the first time a Virtual SSE game folder where MO installs as it was the real SSE Normal loaction ,its called Virtual Data folder , in the MO window you can see it in the DTA tab in the left part on the MO, its that virtual Data folder that I would like to know where is it ! This directory MO has in this left panel window !
Heroine HoneyCrotch Posted July 26, 2021 Posted July 26, 2021 Where ever you have MO installed, I have mine in steam and the file location specifically for me is Steam/SteamApps/Common/Skyrim/ModOrganizer/Mods

Heroine HoneyCrotch Posted July 26, 2021 Posted July 26, 2021 What are looking to do with folder? 17 minutes ago, Bullfye said: Not in MO installation path.. Im gonna say because it dont exist. I'm certainly not seeing either,on my end. Check installed stuff like body meshes and textures? I go to MO/Mods and check there, myself. Maybe in bodyslide mod folder or follower mod folder.
Just Don't Posted July 26, 2021 Posted July 26, 2021 I don't recall if there is an exact location described somewhere. But it's likely a disk space in which MO2 has direct access (so near the MO2 install or instance). You won't find it anyways because it's not there until MO creates it (this is done every time a program requires access to the Data folder and you see this message To explore the content of the Data folder as it's displayed in game you can use the same Data tab you're pointing, or by using the in the executable list.

MO2 uses a "junction" to link Installed Game Data folder with contents of enabled mods in it's "mods" folder The contents of the Data tab are what MO2 will manage when the virtual file system is active. There is no Folder until such time as you selected utility and click "Run" The junction is represented in MO2's interface by the case of the first letter in the "Data" path If it's spelled "Data" it's the actual Skyrim install Data folder If it's spelled "data" it's the combined folder when Virtual File System is active As shown here:

You only can see the real content of the virtual folder by executing a program from the executable list, launching it from inside MO, because the virtual folder, really, no exist, is dynamically generated by MO when you launch a program from the executable list.
