NiX10 Posted July 11, 2021 Posted July 11, 2021 So im having a weird problem that i had before, let me explain In the past i would use vortex to install and mod organizer to sort and launch the game, it worked fine until after like 10-15 hours of playtime the game would not load anymore, I figured out that it was cuz i was using 2 mod organizers which is a no no (i was new to modding skyrim at the time) so i just started using vortex, and that fixed it, i could load the save again and play no problem. Now it happens again, im still using vortex, i did install like couple graphic mods that i did not like and i uninstalled them, ofc i tried loading the save without those mods, i was not getting any messages about missing esp's, and the game just refuses to load. Have anybody had anything like that before? Like i said, new game works fine, i can save, load that save it all works, but im trying to load my save that i was playing on for quite some time and it just won't load at all, not even the oldest save from like couple days.

Vortex sorts things automatically by default. There is no point to using MO2 if you won't actually use it. properly. Whatever manager you pick commit to using it and learn about it. 1 hour ago, NiX10 said: I figured out that it was cuz i was using 2 mod organizers which is a no no (i was new to modding skyrim at the time) so i just started using vortex, and that fixed it, i could load the save again and play no problem. You were using two different mod managers. Using only one didn't solve the problem, it just took away a lot of potential issues because using two different mod managers at the same time is not the smartest idea. So your saves don't load anymore after uninstalling some mods? Do you have saves prior to installing said mods? Can you load these saves? That would be the first step. If you can't go back to previous saves you can try cleaning your saves with Fallrim Tools (there are instructions for basic usage in the description page itself). Another relatively common problem that causes crashes during loading saves is having too many animations. For this, check the anim count you get after using FNIS, if it's around 8k~12k animations you should be using additional fixes to prevent this crash. These additional fixes are mentioned in the FNIS description. So go check these things and spend a minute or two reading the corresponding mod descriptions and settings required.

In terms of FNIS, i am using the XXL version, it says it has loaded 12472 animations, could that be a problem? Edit: also yes i tried fallrim tools, didn't help.
悲しい少王女 Posted July 13, 2021 Posted July 13, 2021 animations shouldnt be a problem if u have the fix for them what exactly is the problem though is the game saying the save is corrupted or what? and in this case ^ you can try loading previous safe even if it still says that, after it returns you to main menu just load the latest one and it may work
Halakason Posted July 13, 2021 Posted July 13, 2021 Do you have netScriptFramework installed? If you take a look it may have provided a crash log in <Skyrim Special Edition Directory>/Data/NetScriptFramework/Crash/, which in turn may provide a solution to what is causing it. But overall I strongly agree with what Just Don't states, DO NOT USE 2 Mod managers. use only one. And I personally highly recommend MO2 since there are many easy to follow tutorials on YouTube. I can recommend some if need be, just ask. Secondly, Animations should not be the issue as 悲しい少王女 mentioned, however I won't rule it out since the game might be trying to load an animation that is happening mid game such as an idle (EVG Conditional Idles is one such culprit) and failing in the process. Also, I personally recommend you switch to Nemesis and stop using FNIS. Thirdly AS A GOLDEN RULE OF SKYRIM MODDING always pass the save through Fallrim Tools, which is a save cleaner. Load up the save through it and clear out any orphan scripts or anything else that may have been removed by a mod, even resetting HAVOK if a physics focused mod was removed. You will never know what a mod adds to your game in terms of scripts until that point.
judge007 Posted July 14, 2021 Posted July 14, 2021 Have you tried reading through the logs in C:\Users\Insert Your Name Here\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition\SKSE? Or any Papyrus logs in C:\Users\Insert Your Name Here\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition\Logs\Script? A look at your load order and Crash Log would help your helpers as well. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/21294
