hana120 Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 Hello. I'm currently using Sofia as a mod follower, but I've noticed something strange about her. The texture of her facial skin is not the same as her body. She has a darker face but her body is lighter. What could it be?
Heinos Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 Well the only thing i know about followers is that is better installed when you do it manually, because using a mod loader sometimes does not load all the textures or screw it badly. if thats not the case probably its a bug or incompatibility.

Are you fuckin mental? Thats just plain wrong and also suggest that manual installation of mods is an option. which is also wrong. 54 minutes ago, hana120 said: What could it be? Depend what you mean with "dark" -if its Black, thats (I thinks) a memory issue with the engine itself, happens more frequently on custom actors with high-res textures. -if its brow, that usually means the facegeom data is missing. -if its only a very small difference in brightness, -might be caused by a different diffuse or specular map

Pamatronic Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 Yeah, looks like a simple texture mismatch. If you are lucky, a simple reinstall could solve it. If not: the current version on nexus uses bsa archives for her textures. You might have some rouge loose files left in you data ordner wich might overwrite thoose. you should look for something like that. if that still doesnt solve the issue, is it maybe related to some face-overlay mod?
hana120 Posted June 9, 2021 Author Posted June 9, 2021 I have the Sofia High Poly mod to have the face she has in the picture but even without it it did.

hana120 Posted June 9, 2021 Author Posted June 9, 2021 What do you mean by "red file"? What exactly should I do?
Heinos Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 4 hours ago, Pamatronic said: Are you fuckin mental? Thats just plain wrong and also suggest that manual installation of mods is an option. which is also wrong. well there was no reason to be rude anyways, in fact i seen some follower mods that required manual installation because some textures could mismatch/be screwed with loaders. i don't play modded skyrim and know little about that (that little is like nothing) also what you see wrong in installing manually some mods, yeah perhaps is very boring and that but sometimes is needed.

Again, that's wrong, no idea what you saw there, but if you had any knowledge about how mad managers work, you would know why this is wrong. 37 minutes ago, Heinos said: also what you see wrong in installing manually some mods, yeah perhaps is very boring and that but sometimes is needed. I'm repeating myself here, but manual installation has ZERO advantages over installation via manager. It only leads to unmanaged leftover files in your installation if you decide to remove a mod later. which causes further issues down the line. 40 minutes ago, Heinos said: i don't play modded skyrim and know little about that (that little is like nothing) And if people with a self admitted lack of knowledge like this keep spreading misinformation, i cant help but getting irritated.

hana120 Posted June 10, 2021 Author Posted June 10, 2021 I have the loose version. But even if I use the BSA version it will be the same. If it's not last in the load order, is that okay?
sfdrake Posted June 10, 2021 Posted June 10, 2021 are using one of the visual overhauls with it???? also Recorder is better than Sofia....
hana120 Posted June 10, 2021 Author Posted June 10, 2021 I use Sofia High Poly Heads. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/42420 Yes Recorder is fine but it is not possible to marry her and the romance with her is barely visible.
sfdrake Posted June 10, 2021 Posted June 10, 2021 the only things I could suggest you doing is to download sg female textures and or the body slides for her.
Pamatronic Posted June 10, 2021 Posted June 10, 2021 esp load order doesnt have any effect on texture mesh replacers, so i dont think thats the issue here, Different approach: are you using MO(2) or Vortex?

Pamatronic Posted June 10, 2021 Posted June 10, 2021 ok, just to make the problem easier to isolate, please deactivate the high poly head for now. does the main sofia mod have any file conflicts? if yes, with what?

Apart from the French translation of Sofia but there is only the translation of the scripts. Otherwise when I look in the conflicts there is nothing else.
Pamatronic Posted June 10, 2021 Posted June 10, 2021 if the translation contains a esp, it could cause issues with the facegeom path. just to be absolutely sure, please disable every mod which conflicts and see if the problem persists.
hana120 Posted June 10, 2021 Author Posted June 10, 2021 I did the test. High Poly Head for Sofia does not cause this. The problem is the translation, the esp of the translation. It bothers me because being French, if I remove it, I won't understand anything she says. And I can't see myself getting out my phone to translate every sentence she says. Is there a solution to this without removing the translation? P.S: I found the problem. It comes from the translation of a French translation site. I put the nexus translation instead and it worked.
