Happysparkles Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Sadly they think that they can just do whatever they want at a moments notice. I already see whats going on here, they will say "He is mentally ill don't arrest him, get him help instead etc etc" Then instead of blaming the person who cannot control their emotions they will blame it on the video games as always... They will say "Video games promote bad behavior and make people into psychotic killers". Then again games will be the focus of the media in yet another attempt to make games PG and non violent as possible eventually taking away any violence in games. TBH if some parts of society had it their way we'd be all playing some childrens game. Do not even get me started on an anti Lovers Lab article I found when I could not get on the website on my phone.
Something Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 It was TOTALLY video games, not some psychotic episode from a kid who apparently had a complete lapse in sanity. If there's anything to be said, at least this kid had the sense to turn himself in. It's worthy of something I guess.
Captain Cobra Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 I'll bet you $50 that he was on anti-depressants.
R0R0N0 Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 It'd be weird if they gave him the psychiatric treatment instead of prison. He's showing he understands the magnitude of the situation so putting him in prison would be the best choice at this point as he will be able to keep thinking of what he did and regret it and slowly make a change to never let his emotions get to him. At least I hope it will.
Ark of Truth Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Who the hell gives a 14 year old a gun!? But yeah it does sound like he had some kinda of drug induced moment. If you ask me he was nuts to begin with, he just only needed the right trigger to go crazy.
El Sparrow Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 already see whats going on here, they will say "He is mentally ill don't arrest him, get him help instead etc etc" I'm not about to say he shouldn't be arrested for what he did... murder is still murder, even if you're mentally ill. But he definitely does need help. If you just lock him up for twenty years and leave him untreated, he'll be out in twenty years, still crazy, and with twenty years of learning how to be brutal enough to survive in prison. That's not a good combination.

That's not a good combination. Well from what I understand Prisons have a decent track record with taking care of mentally ill inmates. Then again he's a minor so.. I spent time in jail before but not enough to know about their mentally ill inmates.
sen4mi Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 I'll bet you $50 that he was on anti-depressants. And I am sure that it's not like that could cause any problem, right? http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2012/02/25/legal-system-rules-antidepressants-cause-kids-to-kill.aspx We should all blame video games. I am sure that blaming video games will address this kind of issue!
Emily Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Kids these days. Play video games all day. Read comics. Faps. Until they come full circle.

Captain Cobra Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Someone seems to hate Emily with a passion. I wonder why that could be.
ChancellorKremlin Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 The amount of miscommunication on this thread is quite annoying. Please, think of the children.
