waffles4eva Posted May 13, 2021 Posted May 13, 2021 SOLVED: For some reason the Bijin AIO 2020 w/ Serana and Valerica was messing with The Ordinary Women. It caused a black face bug which would crash the game getting close to Riverwood. I've had the black face bug before and not crashed, so I don't fully know what the difference is, but it was the reason for the CTD. I recently decided that I wanted to replay through Special Edition so I started a new game and I noticed that it crashed about 50 feet up the road from where the wolf encounter is on the way to Riverwood. I have played through Special Edition heavily modded 2 other times and had never encountered this issue and I have had slightly different sets of mods every time I did a new playthrough. I have looked around and seen a lot of other people had the same issue in the same place, from people having 50 mods to people having 50 more than me, and I couldn't find an actual solution in any of those threads. My Drivers are up to date and LOOT order is up to date as well as TES5Edit, Papyrus, NMM, SKSE, Game itself, and all the DLC. My mods are also all up to date given as how this is a new playthrough I made sure of it. I've cleaned all of the files that LOOT told me to, I've tried disabling mods, I tried staring at the ground while I walked towards Riverwood (which worked a little, still crashed the instant I looked up, whole test was a little odd), I coc'd to Riverwood 01 and it didn't crash, but as soon as I went to the right side of the mill it crashed. I've used most of the mods that are in my current load order, I added some new ones for Legacy of the Dragonborn, but otherwise, most mods are the same as my previous run through. One thing to note is when running SSE Edit and checking for conflicts, every single thing is shown as red, which I'm not sure how big a problem that is, but normally my SSE Edit is a bit more vibrantly colored. The only two things that aren't red are Heavy Armory and Tera Armors, which show as purple, being a critical issue, but I don't know how to fix that, and I haven't seen anyone else with that specific issue. I have no real clue why this issue is happening so any kind of help is appreciated in advance!

If it doesn't work you've walk the long way.Start with the basics (Skyrim,dawnguard etc. with skse but without any other mod) if it work normal then activate mod by mod (with it's dependences of course) Besides,i give a damn on loot.If i would use loot,my game would crash instantly
CaptainJ03 Posted May 13, 2021 Posted May 13, 2021 Not much help from me, but... I've had a similar issue when I tried to walk from Helgn towards Fort Neugrad - at one point a reliable CTD. Rest of the game worked fine, so I just avoided that part of the road, until one day everything was fine again. Sometimes it's just Skyrim being Skyrim.

Does it not occur to you that thousands of people use LOOT on a daily basis without the problem you describe?
pinky6225 Posted May 13, 2021 Posted May 13, 2021 I'd suggest installing - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/21294 As the .Net script framework has a crash log which is useful for working out what the actual issue, after installing repeat what your doing to cause the crash and then post the log from /Data/NetScriptFramework/Crash/ and someone will probably be able to help you with what the issue is

pinky6225 Posted May 13, 2021 Posted May 13, 2021 Not one i've had myself but i'd check mods that are altering male nords for BSDynamicTriShape(Name: `MaleHeadNord`) And seeing if disabling those allows you to enter riverwood without crashing
waffles4eva Posted May 14, 2021 Author Posted May 14, 2021 Small update, still haven't figured out the cause, but I fully reset Skyrim to vanilla and was able to get into Riverwood just fine, I'm in Alvor's house and am going to slowly install groups of mods until the game crashes in the hopes that I find out what was wrong.
Neo72 Posted May 14, 2021 Posted May 14, 2021 I strongly recommend Mo2 if you havent use it yet. @Misanthrope i've 320 mods running (mostly merged and edited) with my own loadorder.Running smoothly without ctd for 2 years now.And i try new mods a lot in game ?.Loot alway giving me headache.I did it my way?
TopDogCat Posted May 14, 2021 Posted May 14, 2021 From what I can see is that you have a lot of city and town addons, then you also have mods that edit the city and towns. I also notice that you have OStime, but I don't see the OSex/OSA dependencies. When I was having CTD in Riverwood, it was caused by a follower mod not having the proper body w/physics, and/or appropriate hair mods enabled. Oops I do see OSA.

At 300 mods installed, I finally had a crash, of which I still have to test as to why and/or which of the 10 mods could've caused the crash. The 10 most recent mods are: 1. Dwemer Spectres Special Edition 2. New Treasure Hunt SSE 3. Treasure Hunter for SSE 4. Marked Treasure SSE 5. Treasure Hunter - refix 6. Fores New Idles in Skyrim SE - FNIS SE - FNIS Behavior SE 7_6 XXL 7. Animation Limit Crash Fix SSE 8. Schlongs of Skyrim SE 9. XP32 Maximum Skeleton Special Extended 10. AddItemMenu I ran FNIS before starting so that specific portion wasn't an issue, no T-posing or anything. The crash report: Possible relevant objects (4) { [ 0] BSTriShape(Name: `0_Ordinary_HeadNord`) [ 8] NiNode(Name: `L1_Bellows`) [ 22] BSTriShape(Name: `L1_PulleySupport03:0`) [ 46] BSFaceGenNiNode(Name: `BSFaceGenNiNodeSkinned`) I don't know if this means that this crash was related to Alvor's forge or what, but I am going to run some tests to see what I can do. If anyone knows more about this I would welcome the insight. EDIT: Actual progress made, the crash I got from the 300 mods installed was because of the Bijin All in One 2020 w/ Serana and Valerica. For some reason this mod made The Ordinary Women take precedence, which was causing a black face that would crash the game. Still have to see if the other 50 mods cause a crash, but that's one problem down!
