slamdunk Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 Hey LL folks, What other games do you play with Mods. I play l4d2, CSS and KF. I think Skyrim is the only RPG I've played. Are there any other games you play which has lots of Mods? Do you mod for other games? I am interested to know so I can add those games.
tagalong Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 I figured out where the reply button is woot! I've actually been playing Feed The Beast for Minecraft Ultimate, which includes a crazy amount of mods and I am enjoying it greatly. I'm actually a minecraft virgin, have only been into it now for 2 and a half weeks. Being a visual whore, I was put off by the lackluster graphics, but after installing feed the beast and installing a texture pack, minecraft is becoming one of my favorite all time games.
slamdunk Posted April 25, 2013 Author Posted April 25, 2013 Yeah minecraft has this Curse mod installer. I thought it was paid? Thanks for the tip. I have heard a lot of minecraft as well and lack of graphics is also the reason I didnt wanna try. It's veyr popular with alpha geeks
TheoryoftheDead Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 Aside from Bethesda titles, I think the only games I've played with mods are Diablo 2, Torchlight(1+2) and Dragon Age Origins. Might be missing out on something, but if I can't remember it, it can't be that important.
slamdunk Posted May 9, 2013 Author Posted May 9, 2013 I have used mods on non RPG games like l4d2, l4d, killing floor, counter strike (all except GO) can't remember anymore.
Kpnut Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Other then Oblivion, Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 3 (occasionally) I play DA:O and DA2, although the modding in both isn't anywhere near modding in the TES and Fallout games. I also used to play the Sims 2 (this was years ago so I'm hesitant to mention it.)

Strelky Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 I nodded both L4D2 and Minecraft out to kingdom come. As well as a few mods for Company of Heroes and Borderlands
gregathit Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 The total war series. These games are what hooked me into the world of modding. Back with Shogun the most I could figure out how to do was text editing. However as Rome came along and tools emerged I dabbled in trying to modify units. I got into that more with MTW2. Never released anything but I was definitely hooked at that point. Soon I began to tinker with Beth products and anything else that had a low to moderate barrier of entry to mod. Never really got much into texmods other than using them.
ChancellorKremlin Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Definitely RTW. The scope for mods is just amazing. I'm still playing (and modding) today. I really hope RTW II will have the same mod-friendly engine and interface.

Between Stainless Steel, Third Age (LOTR mod), Broken Crescent, Thera and with Fire & Sword 2 just to name a few there is just tons of hours of content. Each of the listed mods so vastly changes things to the point that it is like having a brand new game. Funny enough the Third Age (LOTR mod) is by far better than and commercially made LOTR game that exists. Take that up the ass EA!!!

Most developers just can't match the enthusiasm some modders put into their games, and that applies to a lot of genres. I just couldn't really get into MTW 2, there was something "off" about it for me. It looked a tad cartoony, and I hated the animations. Horses seemed to literally slide across the ground, unit movement seemed laboured... I don't know, I just found RTW more "fluid" and realistic. I've been playing EB (Europa Barbarorum) and IBSAI (Invasio Barbarorum: Somniun Iuliani Apostatai) for the past 5 years or so. I've even got into the odd AAR or two.
leddis3 Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Can't add much more than already mentioned, aside from Sins of a Solar Empire, mainly for it's Battlestar Galactica mod.
Guest Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Ever since Morrowind I've been a really big mod junkie, modding my games whenever I could, here are a few examples (aside from TES and Fallout titles): Minecraft- I've tried many mods but I think the best for me would be the yogbox. It has a ton of amazing mods all bundled up into one neat package. And everyone who has modded minecraft knows what a nightmare it is when you've modded your game and a new update comes out Total War Games- For Rome Total War my favorite mod who probably be Europa Barbarorum. I like the bigger focus on the post Hellenistic/Alexander the Great period of the ancient world than the Romans. For Medieval 2 it would have to be without a doubt Third Age: Total War. it's a phenomenal mod to a degree where one would suspect it was made by a paid gaming studio as large as Creative Assembly. And for Empire: Total War it probably would have to be Darth Mod. It enhances the game quite a bit. Unfortunately I have not been able to play Shogun 2 yet. Dragon Age: Origins- Lots of mods that really improves the game. Some mods like Lock bash, extra dog slot, the nudity and better sex scenes mods, and of course, SKIP THE FECKING FADE. Mount and Blade: Warband- Floris Mod Pack. That is all.
RezTheFatal Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 Was I the only one who liked the Fade in DA:O? Nope I thought the riddle test with the sloth demon was pretty fun.
Guest flingingfeces Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 I started out modding Resident Evil 4 back in the day when that sorry excuse of a port came to pc. The community really did a number on it and today I still find myself going back and working on little touch ups every now then. Also the very first game I modded was Half Life 2. I can't believe that Source is still so popular these days. Some folks are working on an amazing looking Jurassic Park mod!
slamdunk Posted May 18, 2013 Author Posted May 18, 2013 hey thats pretty good list of games and mods I had not heard of before. I modded my first game Vampire The Masquerade , that was ages ago. It was mostly texture and body edits since I figured out that one could import the models to Milk 3D. There was no internet access for me then so it was trial and error. I dont remember seeing any mods then either. this is back in 2002 or so if I remember correctly. But t hat was all I did.
Emily Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Super deepthroat, Latest version. A real Good quality masochist stuff ever made. It's moddable and they have their own forum communitty for that but emily are good enough with the latest version. Of sdt that officially allow male to male. Then everything is up to the voice and dialog mod.

lordofthedread Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 It is, but that is by far the best adult flash game I ever played (well played... it is still a flash game)
FallenWarrior Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 Except for Morrowind, Oblivion, Baldur's Gate 2, Crusader Kings, Dragon Age: Origins, Fallout 3 & New Vegas. I also use mods for Crusader Kings 2
slamdunk Posted May 29, 2013 Author Posted May 29, 2013 @FallenWarrior. Neat, I am going to get Crusader Kings just for that. I think I have everyone else of them but I have never tried mods for them.
Victoria K. Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Old Sierra games and many Paradox ones. Different kind of modding but still.
Vulgaris Magistralis Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Other than the 3 games which have their own mod sections on this site. There aren't really a lot, as for most games I don't really mind the base game and I don't really want to bother with mods for it, that or mods that don't really add much to anything. Best I can do is make a list of games I often play modded. -Civ 5 (A game that I'm starting to really enjoy now) -L4D2 (Just reskins/remodels of existing weapons, survivors and more maps, but it's enough for me) -Counter Strike Source (Boy did I enjoy looking for different gun mods to use) -Dawn of War: Soulstorm (Adding more units/factions? Yes please!) -Minecraft (Not a big fan of the game, but I find mods for it quite fine I guess) -Would you count Brutal Doom as a mod? Other than those (there's probably a few more), there's not really much I felt the need to go out of my way to look for mods, or mods simply not existing for some games.
