Vyxenne Posted April 7, 2021 Posted April 7, 2021 I started a new game (the old-fashioned way- wagon ride into Helgen), building in a few mods (SKSE64, SkyUI, ENB, SoS, Tempered Skins (male), Leyenda Skin (female) and testing every few mods. As soon as I got to see myself (you can't go into 3rd person until the Stormcloak or Imperial "guide" cuts your hands free) I found that I have an all-pink, glossy body- my body textures are missing! All female NPCs have body textures, which confirms that my default female body textures are installed properly and available to any actor who uses the default body and textures I am a Nord, not any custom race I do not have any Player-Unique mods installed at all My head, hands and feet are all correctly textured- only my body has missing textures Disabling my female body texture mod (Leyenda Skin) does not fix the problem Rebuilding my default body in BodySlide does not fix the problem I confirmed that the default body nif's BSLightingShaderProperty >> BSShaderTextureSet correctly points to Data\Textures\Actors\character\female\femalebody_1.dds (and supporting dds files in the same folder, e.g. normal map, etc.) I confirmed that the above file actually exists and that it is, in fact, a female body texture Normally, if default textures are mis-installed (or mismatched to the default body, i.e. CBBE textures on a UUNP body, or any other installation error) then NPCs also show missing textures since they use the same body and textures. This is not the case in my still-in-Helgen game. I spent several hours online trying to research how this can possibly happen- I found about 10 people complaining about the issue, but only 3 of them indicated that they had solved the problem... but not ONE of them said what they had done to fix it!!! One of them even straight up said "I don't know how I fixed it." Can someone please suggest some possible cause for this player-character-only problem?

Another banality, do you have the SKSE.ini file in the SKSE folder? Tried to restart the game from any save? If it's a mod problem, theoretically you should find it there too 18 minutes ago, Vyxenne said: but not ONE of them said what they had done to fix it It probably resolved itself. A similar thing happened to me when I combined an ENB with SMP. It made me characters either black or purple
SpyVsPie Posted April 7, 2021 Posted April 7, 2021 Do you have a body overlay that is no longer installed selected in your racemenu preset?
Vyxenne Posted April 8, 2021 Author Posted April 8, 2021 UPDATE! Found the problem! It was a Racemenu and/or skee issue. Reinstalling RM and then loading my very first save in Helgen (before I had ever even opened RM other than initial character creation) resulted in full-body textures magically appearing. Thanks anyway for the response.
Vyxenne Posted April 8, 2021 Author Posted April 8, 2021 Well, crap, @SpyVsPie, I didn't see your response when I made my last post! Sorry! 12 hours ago, SpyVsPie said: Do you have a body overlay that is no longer installed selected in your racemenu preset? That's entirely possible- my preset was from my old character, and she has a pubic-hair overlay that my new character hadn't yet grown. However, I thought saving a preset json in RM captured only the head and did not include the body, hands or foots at all. Yes? No? Shoot me now? Since making my new character from my old preset, I installed the AK_RM pubic hair overlays and selected the same one for my new character (I think shaved hoo-hahs are fugleeeee...... not to mention painful) - maybe that's why it suddenly began to work for no apparent reason™. If bodies are included in RM Presets, I'll have to be careful about such issues in the future.
anjenthedog Posted April 8, 2021 Posted April 8, 2021 FWIW, I'm not sure about custom heads and so forth, but I *can confidently state that Racemenu jslots capture both facial and body changes (ie, all adjustments from the racemenu sliders section, be they scale or hair or mouth or head or the various body adjustments).
