While I would love to balance things out and have content that both genders / multiple sexualities can enjoy, I basically started making these sprites for my own enjoyment. I personally have no interest in male content, so if I were to take on such a task it would really put a dampener on my joy of working on the mod, so I'm afraid that's a no from me, sorry.

 

Although, if someone were to retrofit the women in existing sprites into men, I personally wouldn't have problems with them being added to the mod or as an add-on.

I have looked into the files and found the problem in the code: the "lightColor" was defined two times in the same object.

This will be fixed in the next update.

It is on the to-do list. I also want to rebalance the sound levels at some point as some of the clips are barely audible while some are loud.

Currently waiting for my PC parts to arrive, so can't do any more work quite yet.

 

If you know of any clips I can borrow sound samples from, I'm eager for suggestions. Hopefully hentai / porn without music, lacking background noise and with as little talking as possible.

I found a few squishing samples from ASMR videos, but if I listen to too much of that it makes me hate humanity even more.

Any chance we'll get stuff like stairs and platforms? I'm making a home, but it's hard to build vertically without using blocks that break the aesthetic of the tentacle "meat".

Nothing planned yet, we might take that suggestion in consideration.

I used "Mossy Platform" in my build and painted it red. Not perfect because the background will also be tinted red but looks fleshy enough as a crutch.

I like the idea of custom platforms. Though the tiles offer no variation like the blocks do, so a set of tentacle platforms will look rather generic (Wonder if it's possible to make them play different sfx from the regular platforms when stepped on) Might make more than one set to compensate, but we'll see. I'm wary of taking on too many obligations at once as I already have a few things I'm currently working on that I'd like to finish once I'm able to continue this.

I believe the Sloggoth mod does that for their platforms, so in theory it should be possible.

 

EDIT: Do take your time, there is obviously no rush for things like this. Onionknighto already gave me good ideas to continue and infest the planet!

As one of the folks who work on the Shoggoth mod, I can confirm that you can make squishy sounding platforms. In fact you can make any block have any sfx you want when you step on it as long as you plug it in right.

First of all, I wanna say this mod is amazing. Hopefully you continue to support it for pretty much ever.

 

Speaking of support....

 

It appears the doors don't actually have a wire input. They have two outputs but the second one seems to do nothing. That's the only technical issue I've had with this mod, outside of maybe the doors not playing sounds correctly either.

 

Outside of that, the only things I have left to say are things on my wishlist, which pretty much is just "more please." I'm not picky. If I had to choose, I'd like more generic wiggly bits to stick everywhere, more random orifices and tentacles, more types of doors and sizes, weird stuff like tentacle butts, and of course lights and platforms. Maybe even more furniture?

 

And I know you said you wouldn't do it, but I certainly would love if a male themed update came our way. Males and tentacles are so underloved. I know not to hold my breath on that, along with one last idea: there's this artist (ZXC? I think) who draws some REALLY kinky stuff. It's kinda hard to find, actually. One of the things he did at one point that I love are these sorts of parasite/tentacle armor. Now THAT would be something.

Thanks for the input. The doors we are aware of. There is input and output on them. Two of each actually, but one of them is bugged. We borrowed some code from another mod to allow doors to have more than three frames for opening and closing, as well as idle animations for closed and open state. We don't know the purpose of the secondary nodes, nor how to remove them without ruining the way the doors work.

If its just an effect, like speed, or whatever. /suicide should work. I forget if you need to be in /admin or not. Either way. aforementioned command should reset all effects.

I kinda wish we could make the status effect icon visible to clear up some confusion regarding the tentacle fluids, but I'm not sure it can be done as it's using a modified version of the vanilla bed-nude effect which has no status effect icon. I'm considering considerably lowering the duration of the potent fluid. Maybe 30sec - 1min on the regular tentacle fluid (up from 10sec) and 5-10min on the potent tentacle fluid (down from 20min)

Anyone have thoughts on that?

 

The tentacle fluid idea was mostly conceived with players of female characters in mind, as well as the creation of adventure maps / dungeons, so I wanted something that would last for a considerable amount of time.

we are currently working on a massive overhaul of the shop and internal workings of the mod for 2.0

this will make plenty of space in the shop to add new stuff which restricted us previously

I mentioned the avali race as potential for future victim assets  but it depends on what our artists want to add in the end (we are working closely with LMS on the update)

 

btw if you are good at spriting you are welcome to edit some of the current files to include the avali race send it to me and I will add it to the shop!

I encourage any and all edits of our animations or new tentacle assets, tentacle clothing, weapons or anything you want to see in this mod send it all to me and we might add it to the shop after scrutiny

but make sure its your own work we don't want stolen assets

I'm still out of commission due to tech problems, but once I'm back I have other things that takes priority that I want to make.

In the interest of maintaining my own interest in working on this, I'm going to focus mainly on what I want to have in the mod (though suggestions are still welcome) Any artists are free to use my sprites as foundations if they want to make edits for other races or genders.

Gonna add more lighting objects, as well as a chair that fucks the person sitting in it. More sprites related to wiring and proximity sensors, etc.
