Don't work both in JP EN version can you check ?

There could be many causes.

  1. out of date shaderoverrides in d3dx.ini - try updating here or use Teddy's
  2. Extracting images to the frames folder failed.
  3. generating the vid.ini failed.

Thank you, after updating shaderoverrides, it works ^^

That method of replacing the file no longer works, and not just because you gave the wrong file name...

The game will crash if you replace the owner room video file... even when encoded in the same way as the original which was .wmv

I exported only the [video_name]/frames folder in step 6,

and didn't get the .ini file mentioned in step 7, nor the extracted-data.txt needed in step 8.

Then used generateVidini.bat to manually generate the .ini file and put it in the [video_name] folder, but when I run it in the game,
I only get the same error as [Kanna Booty Shake] : WARNING: Unrecognised entry: resource\ vidplayer\videoname = ref resource-vidname unless_null

The interactive UI of this mod is always not shown in the game, I used it in Steam version. Needing help?

That may mean the "vidController.ini" is not up to date... did you replace all the old VideoMod files except video/frame folders.

-Are any other mods working?

-Are you using the latest GUICVM 1.4+

  If yes, are other gui mods working?

-What resolution are you playing at?

-Using a low poly setting?

-What language is your operating system using?

I installed the GUI CVM without any error messages.

But the video mod is still not working properly.

I used your d3dx.ini instead of losing everything mod except the GUICVM interface?

I was afraid of this kind of confusion. Someone asked for the shader overrides to be separated from the d3dx.ini

If you download the d3dx.ini from that page, you also need the "ShaderOverrides-2023-04-29.ini" you can put the file anywhere in your "Mods" folder.

You can download

https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/26381-d3dxini-krunkdunk/?do=download&r=1600413&confirm=1&t=1&csrfKey=c6b1030cd606bbadfead45690aeb3453

which has both d3dx.ini and the shaderoverrides.ini

@starash I'm curious, does the batch file still not work completely? Does it make a "extraction-data.txt" and "vid.ini"

If not, does adding this into the beginning of the file help?

REM set code page to UTF-8
chcp 65001> nul

Paste the above after lines 1 and 2

@echo off
REM ver. 1.3.0

Ok I have downloaded the sample vid and created my own but the video screen is see through (nothing on it but I can see the controls)

I have also downloaded the shader overrides.zip file and dropped it into the game still no luck.

DMM version

Anything else to try?

Thanks for that, I got rid of those errors by extracting just like you did.

The only thing is that the video is probably playing but I cannot see it:

image.thumb.png.1b1436296d706e8d9d50f8cfb678ba6a.pngIf I hit F2 to disable mods I can see the original video, so maybe there is some weird shader override I have which can be affecting it?

@vamp3003

Well I think I noticed some strange things...

-You may have another mod that affects the video screen; I'm pretty confident my mod wouldn't make it disappear.

In windows explorer, in your mods folder enter this in the search bar:

ext:ini 0e447010

If you find any mod other than VideoMod using that hash, it could be the cause of the missing screen.

-What is the resolution you are using? And if you modified the game's .exe for a custom resolution which did you replace?

Yeah no hits or with notepad++ either:

I even removed all the custom mods like gacha demist, some owner room poster replacements, etc and still the same.

Has to be a conflict alright, will keep disabling mods and see if it comes back.

Reshade can affect it?

I have never used Reshade, so I can't say.

But you can try searching for this hash... I forgot meshes have 2 (vb0 and ib)

the previous was the vb0, this is the ib

919b9dbd

Some mod may have used that instead of

@krunkDunk

Thanks for the amazing mod. I play on Steam and unfortunately can't get it to work. It keeps on playing the default video despite having changed the video on GUICVM. I believe the d3dx.ini and mainshaderoverides should be up to date too. The Kanna sample video doesn't seem to be working either despite having changed to its title on GUICVM in game. If you have any insights I would greatly appreciate it.

1. Make sure you have "Costumes Mods Enabled" by pressing F2 ( it toggles them on/off ) The Video Mod is designed to fallback to the original game video with "Costume Mods Disabled"

2. Look if you have this ShaderOverride section ( match the hash, the number in the title doesn't matter )

[ShaderOverride-PS-Environment-02]
hash = 4cfa4ac4dd810d76
run = CommandListEnvironment

If can't find that hash in d3dx.ini or MainShaderOverrides, you can add it to one of those ini files, or make a new ini file - make sure the title of the section is not a duplicate of another section.

*edit*

just for future proofing if anyone has the same problem. In a ShaderOverride section like above, it's possible the hash could be the same as in another section - a duplicate warning would appear in game at startup or when mods are reloaded (F10). To get rid of the warning, add this line to that new ShaderOverride section.

allow_duplicate_hash = overrule

for example:

Quote

[ShaderOverride-PS-Environment-02]
hash = 4cfa4ac4dd810d76

allow_duplicate_hash = overrule
run = CommandListEnvironment
