Right now there's only a small handful of people involved, but it would aid communication and just be as organized or messy as needed. Suludi: youtube, nightasy tutorials. Any scripters paying attention in here? I think it's a good idea to move the development phase elsewhere. If you want to set up a forum, that would be awesome. Whoa, you're working on the worldspace now? That may get us into trouble cause everything's packed in a esp, not an esm. If you want, I can put the landscape into an esm, then you can plant your changes onto it with an additional esp.
skirmish Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 Hey guys. After browsing around and reading this thread early on, I decided to make my own mermaid mod. But, then I got distracted by other modding things and life things and I just have this model I made and I thought I'd let you guys use it if you wanted. Keep in mind though, it's not finished by any means. I've been having some problems with faces not showing and it's not UVW mapped. It's the SevenBase Natural 0 weight body. Converting it to 100 weight should be as simple as swapping out the torso and welding the verts. I've never done a body mod before and I'm not totally sure if I did it correctly. I converted it to an editable mesh after it had been rigged to the skeleton and then modified. Which makes it easier to skin wrap for weighting, but It might give it some distortion or something. Either way, it shouldn't be hard to fix if it's wrong. If someone knows that'd be great and I could fix it up. Anyway, after being unhappy with SevenBase weighting in the elbow areas, (the actual mesh I've noticed is kind of messy as well) I was thinking about doing a CBBE version or finishing up working on a modified SevenBase body I've been messing with and using that. Just keep in mind that it's not finished yet, I'm thinking of deepening some parts but if you stick to the islands for now, it shouldn't be a problem.

Sincerely EB oh man, thanks EB, i finally got my favorite mertail and, as you would have guessed, i used the crawl on fours animation, and, good god, its the perfect animation set. aside from the fighting animations, they can be barely tweaked so far, ive tried doing animation breaking stuff with the merbody, using grindstones is very awkward now, and when riding a horse, the tail mainly clips into the horse, but enough of her tail is shown to make you think she's riding side sattle oh, and Suludi, i tried the tail with your swim animations, they're beautiful together and finally on an unrelated note, i modded that bandit hideout to be camouflaged as a sunken ship, will post screen shots soon

I wish I could do the entire thing in Blender where I'd at least KNOW what I'm doing. I also want to include my pretty new scale texture for the upper body.

I'm not too keen with them being scaly as humans, I really hope they are for their upper body when in mermaid form.
mantaman Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 oi guys, i ran into a few problems the mermaids can only wear the glass/ebony gauntlets and helmets, although i think i can fix that and, as much as i expect they'd be able to wear clothing without legs (dresses) they cant, i'll see about fixing it soon

As it is above, I think that's perfect. . . just a little subtlety to show that "hey i'm something different than just a normal humanoid"
