[mod] Character Body Overhaul

So for whatever reason the meshes for Iberian Christian/Muslim clothes can't be accessed by the game. Anyone know a fix?

The error log says that the mesh could not be found, but it exists in directory. It's located in My Documents. The other meshes can be accessed just fine from the same location, I'm not sure what's wrong with these particular meshes?

In-game, the characters wearing these clothes show up as body horrors.

The affected meshes are:

I did a bit of testing, it seems to be some error due to long file-names, like "female_clothes_secular_fp2_iberian_christian_nobility_01 _bs_butt_size_max_2". I don't know what the deal is, but I figured out a fix:

  1. Go to your game's install directory, make a backup of 'Crusader Kings 3 > game > gfx' folder. Keep this in a separate folder in case something messes up and you can avoid a reinstall.
  2. Go the mod's directory, (probably inside 'Documents > Paradox Interactive > Crusader Kings III > mod > char_body_overhaul' )
  3. Copy the gfx folder in 'char_body_overhaul' and paste it over the gfx folder in the game's original installed directory.
  4. Say Yes to all when prompted to overwrite.

Now the meshes should load properly without body horror and floating rags. Tested on game v1.7.2 with CBO v1.6.6, no CFP.

Are there any statements explain a bit what sort of is giving at the line "female_clothes_secular_fp2_iberian_christian_nobility_01 _bs_butt_size_max_2"?

Anyone have an issue where the physical traits no longer affects the appearance of characters?

I have this too. And the butt traits aren't even listed anymore - I'm not using the vanilla version of CBO, so they should be a thing, right?

I had some luck by moving everythign up to the top, or try moving it down. Some of the stuff is now working, like increasing boob size from physical traits, but not everything. Hair is still clipping through outfits and bodies, which drives me nuts.

Carnalitas mostly works for me, but I'm also seeing some issues with it as well. From what I've seen, whenever it is loaded after EK2, it messes with the UI and prevents you from using the rituals from from the character screen and using the spellbook as well.

That's resolved by loading EK2 after, but that also comes with some other issues. I can't seem to create new religions at all(causes CTD) and in some cases, a CTD occurs from simply opening the religion screen.

I you've been able to run them both without issues, I'd love to see the loadout.

sorry for the late reply. posting for anyone else that needs it

EDIT: i just realized, if you want magic and rituals to work, load elder kings lower on the mod order...unlike what i did here

Sorry if this just dumb question.

Does "Nameplates" mod and other mod who associated with it (Duel Overlay, etc) incompatible with CBO (or Carnalitas-dependent mods in general)?

And can i see load order that works perfectly with CFP, VIET, RICE, etc?

The problem is, if I put Nameplates on the bottom of Carnalitas mods in general, Carnalitas doesn't look right or animation doesn't working well.

If I put Nameplates on top of Carnalitas, Nameplates and mods who uses it (VIET, etc) doesn't work.

I have game version of 1.6 (I have precautions that CBO doesn't work in 1.7), but I have CFP for 1.7.2 because it's still works in older games and CBO still works with that version of CFP IN GAME VERSION OF 1.6 (I have tested it multiple times).

EDIT: Oh, nevermind. CFP for version 1.7.2 didn't works after 1 month in game. Oh well, moving along.

Can you please tell me why the animation does not start?
the scenes/poses on the bed just change, but the characters don't move

Does anyone know of anything that could conceivably cause the CBO butt traits to not exist, the butt on the CBO character model to just be vanilla proportions, and the breasts to choose a CBO size at random with no influence at all from the traits? (Edit: I very specifically made sure I was installing the main version, not the vanilla one.)

This mod refuses to work together with CFP in any way, shape or form. The patch just doesn't seem to do anything.

Patch is falling apart there seems to be bugs in the bodies everytime ck3 gets updated. Now we can do is hope mange comes back or stop leaving us in the dark or someone takes over his work.

you have to get an earlier version of CFP for CBO to work with it.

So, regarding CFP, for someone who don't know.

DON'T DOWNLOAD VERSION 3.1.6 for 1.7.2. DOWNLOAD 3.1.5 for CFP 1.7.0 INSTEAD

Paradox engine is kinda broken with adding two or more custom accessories with version 1.7.2 Bastion. Even EPE, who usually update and compatible with CFP, recommend to uses version 3.1.5 instead until Paradox patches that engine. Even CFP authors encourages that too.

How to get earlier CFP version: go to https://wiki.communityflavorpack.com/pages/releases and finds version 3.1.5 or https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2883742335

And for those who uses EPE, don't worry. EPE+CFP Compatibility Patch still working with version 3.1.5 and newest EPE

So for  some reason i can't get the game to work with this mod at all and i really don't know why. I tried turning mods on and off until i only had carnalis, barber shop and this turned on and the game still crashes on startup. Any ideas?

It's become a little lost in the pages of chatter, but there's an error in the height gene.txt file within the mod directory location ending: mod\CBO\common\genes\  (or whatever you have CBO named as, I just shortened the name for mine) due to the fact it indexes 12 different height adjustments but accidentally re-uses index numbers 7, 8 and 9.  CK3 will not work with duplicates in an index.  There's a fix to this file several pages back in the chatter, or in the fix patch posted by Siudhne.

Fix the height genes file and it should hopefully stop crashing (at least if you're not using other mods that remain incompatible such as EPE or CFP).  I've been experimenting for a couple of days and have so far found it works for me

Current load order:

Fullscreen Barbershop

Carnalitas

Char Body Overhaul

Going to add Carnal Court next, hopefully.

CFP has a problem right now with other mods too (not only Loverslab mods) because of the game recent patches. Can you try with CFP version 3.1.5 to see if this works?

The full path for some of these files are like: "mod\char_body_overhaul\gfx\models\portraits\attachments\female_clothes\secular\fp2_christian\nobility_01\female_clothes_secular_fp2_iberian_christian_nobility_01_bs_butt_size_2_max.mesh"

The error log throws an error saying .mesh cannot be found. Specifically only for the longer file-names, ending with "bs_butt_size_2_max", "bs_breast_size_max" etc.

Well, 3.1.5 ver. of CFP still persistently crashes the game at launch, so that's not a sollution.

Oh, that's unfortunate.

To @Mange2020 if you make an update to this mod, can I request to make compatibility to Nameplates mod or mods that use Nameplates (Duel Overlay, Resizeable Events)? Those mods is the one that conflict with character_event.gui and i think moderately simple to fix too.

I've been unable to get CBO to launch, even without any other mods. Does it require a certain DLC? The launcher is telling me it's compatible with game version 1.6.

You can update the mod name and descriptor files to change the version number warning if needed, but ultimately that isn't the issue. Go back one page to my previous post for a reminder of the fix that others have shared.
