I need a bit more info to diagnose your issue.

Are you looking on the "Identity" tab in the Customizer and selecting the voice from the list, or are the voices not being added to the list?

Be sure to check the documentation first to see if it answers any questions.

Hi.

The voices aren't being added to the list in the customizer. I looked at the documentation for the voice pack installer and couldn't find anything related to this problem.

If the list isn't being changed, then the mod isn't installing. At the very least, the in-game voice list should be empty/broken if the addon is read. If nothing is changing, the mod is being ignored.

Are you running an older version of VX? Make sure you are updated to the latest version "1.00p".)

If VX is not in your Registry, that can cause problems too, but typically during installation (it wouldn't install to begin with.)

I'm using VX, with the 1.00p update, from the download found here. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, but still no luck.

Every time I open the voiceset installer I have to specify the location of the Binaries folder, it won't stay saved (the location of the ovc and ogg files does stay saved). Maybe that has something to do with the problem.

Go into your Save folder, double-click on Portable.reg, answer "yes", then try it.

The Save subfolder in the TK17 folder? I don't have that file.

Then you did a full install? Most people do a portable, then have all kinds of problems; mostly from running the exe directly (common hook advice). Portable.reg fixes that.

Check that the registry entries exist under "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\TeamK17\Klub-10" (or "Klub-7" if using v7.5), and contains the correct path data. Other than that, I don't know what it could be.

Yeah, I did a full (recommended) install. What should I look for in the registry?

Any keys with the word "path" in them.. make sure they point to where the program is actually installed. Some things can cause these to be wrong, or to not get created in the first place; like failing to run the program at least once using the launcher, or by running the installer as an administrator (a lot of people don't understand that's NOT how you're supposed to run a program).

You didn't, by chance, install Tk17 and/or OM's plugin into the Program Files folder, did you? If so, there's a good chance Windows File Protection is screwing with you. You could fix it by "Taking Ownership" of the folder (you'll need a third-party utility), Or by setting WFP on its lowest setting. But best just to install it somewhere else.

Anyhow... Chances are, everything I've said will prove totally irrelevant (that's the way it usually goes with this program); and OysterMug ultimately knows more about it than I do, so I'm shutting up now. :)

That gave me an idea. I had installed TK17 directly from the zip file, so I uninstalled and reinstalled (unzipping the installer first) and... it worked!

Thanks guys.

I'm having a similar issue. I have a fresh install of VX and running the latest update of 1.00p. Whenever I install a voice set using OysterMug's installer I'm unable to see the newly created voice in game. The installer claims the voice set was created successfully. I see a new number increment 200:. 201:, etc. next to each voiceset in the installer but these do not show as option within the game under personality. I'm using the newest version of the installer 4.0.5. Any help would be appreciated.

By any chance, do you have the "Change Log" for 4.0.5?

I suffered a RansomWare attack back in January and thought I recovered most of what I lost, but the newest source code I still have is v4.0.3. I need to know what was fixed in 4.0.4 & 4.0.5 so I can update my software. I'm afraid I can't determine if the problem is due to a bug in the 4.0.5 code without knowing what was fixed. :(

I've looked for the change log but am unable to find it. 4.0.5 was the only version that I've ever used. I tried to download an older version but the link brought me back to the 4.0.5.

Miracle of miracles, (quite by sheer luck while looking for something else in my cloud archives) I found the source code for 4.0.5. ?

I don't have the change log to know what fixes/improvements were made after 4.0.4 (the last version I have the Change Log for), but at least I don't have to worry about any latent bugs fixed in 4.0.5 popping up in newer versions (if necessary) because I was using old code!

PS: Technically, I DO have the "Change Log" for 4.0.5, but it was encrypted by the RansomWare. The only other place it still exists is on the now defunct "ModsGarden" server (where ever those files may be today. I copied/saved my posts, but those too were encrypted.)

Okay, thinking about this a bit more, the only reason "Installer" would see/list all voices but VX does not is that they are reading two different copies of the same voice script. This suggests you have more than one copy of VX installed and "Installer" is set to read a different one than the copy you are launching.

Go into File | Settings of "Installer" and double-check the path to VX.

Thanks OysterMug! I was able to resolve the issue by deleting all versions of the tool, reinstalling an older version then replacing the exe with the newer 4.0.5 version.
